Was I that horrible?

"Janice…"

"Stay away from me!"

Janice snapped, moving past him and down the hallway. She stepped into the room and he followed suit.

Jules let out a sigh and he pinched the bridge of his nose. "At least, give me a chance to explain myself."

Janice sat on the bed, her eyes were on the ceiling. Even though she could see whatever Jules was doing in the room from the corner of her eyes, she pretended like she didn't see him.

"Will you ever hear me out or just assume I cheated on you?"

She glared at him but wished she hadn't. His eyes were sunken and bleary as if he had not slept for days.

It was just yesterday it happened, however, he was looking slightly unkempt.

She wondered if the headline of this morning contributed to what he was feeling since she had heard him cursing on the phone and threatened to kill whoever put the pictures of him out there.

Janice didn't care about the headline of him having a child out of wedlock, it wasn't like she could do anything about it.

What bothered her was the picture of her son that was attached to it and the nauseating headline he was tagged with.

"Of course, you f**king cheated. I don't think you thought of your dignity when it happened. So, don't be surprised to see your face out there."

Janice paused and she shook her head as her eyes began to well up with tears again. She stared up at him, although his figure was blurry, she believed he still stood where he was at the door side.

"Have you no shame?" She continued. "I am not even talking about your love child!"

Suddenly, wiped the tears from her face and the sadness swirled into anger.

She had been cheated on!

It wasn't even with a high-class woman, not someone of his calibre.

He had cheated with a cheap slut.

"Was I that an awful wife to you? I thought I was doing everything to keep you. I made sure I satisfy your freaking needs, yet…"

"Language." Jules chastised, nodding towards Prince Michael.

"You are not my mother, don't f**king tell me to be careful!"

Jules groaned. He had never seen Janice as furious as this before. She had been mad at him before but not as long as this.

"What do you want with me?" He asked before he could stop himself.

Janice bristled and walked up to him. "What do I want you to do?!"

She tossed her head back and laughed bitterly.

"What do I want?" She repeated. "How dare you ask me such a question?!"

"Janice…"

"Don't Janice me!"

"I am wrong, and I am accepting my mistake. But, please, can you hear me out?"

"How would you feel if I did this?"

"Oh, I know." She snapped her fingers. "You'll freaking toss my things outside without hearing my side of the story!"

"I would never do that." He mumbled. He sat on the bed and let out a deep sigh.

He kneaded his temple and his eyes trailed to hers.

She had stepped to the door when he got closer to the bed. She had been avoiding staying near him and it made him feel like he was a stranger to her, rather than her husband.

"Why did you do it? Was I that horrible?" Janice said.

She knew she kept asking the same question over again, she didn't care. It was because the question kept resurfacing over again in her head and she had tried to answer each, yet she didn't know what had driven him into it.

"You are not horrible," Jules mumbled.

He stepped towards the door and squatted where she was currently sitting on the floor with her face to the ground.

He clasped her hand and puffed out a breath when she didn't push him back or yell at him to stay away from her.

"I will never hurt you, believe me."

"Then, what happened? You already broke that promise and it hurts to hear you say what you can't keep."

"I didn't cheat on you, Janice. I don't know what happened. I am surprised as well."

"Are you talking about your son, Jake or the slut that is making headlines with you now?"

"Jake happened, years ago and I didn't even know about him until yesterday, whilst Jenny, I don't know how she got into my room in the first place. I swear I have nothing to do with her."

Janice stared into his eyes, trying to seek out the truth. He seemed genuinely sorry but she didn't know if she should believe him or not.

A part of her heart wanted to hug him seeing as he was suffering the same way she was, whilst the other part wanted to smack him and cause him as much pain as he had done to her.

"No…" She said after a while, "I don't believe that."

She shoved him slightly and hopped to her feet. Walked up to Prince Michael's cot, snatched him out of it and stepped out of the room.

Jules watched as she walked in a minute later with a duffel bag, then began to toss a few of her things and his inside.

"Where are you going?" He tilted his head. "Don't freaking think you can leave here the same way you did the first. On talking terms or not, I wouldn't hesitate to punish you severely. I am still your husband."

"Not for long," Janice responded coldly.

"What do you mean by not for long?"

"Perhaps, you need to ask yourself that. I am certain when I am out of the picture, you'd have enough time to spend with your sluts!"

"Janice…"

"I know what you are about to say. I don't care if I am unable to get past your watchdog. I am not staying in this room with you and in the meantime, I'd like to speak with the lawyer because I can't go through with this anymore." She said, walking out of the room.
