Who Are You
I woke up in my bed, if I am in my normal state, I would have questioned how I ended up here. However, I have no motivation and interest at all, my body is aching all over. I couldn’t move my arms without feeling any pain. I couldn’t fully lie on my back because of the wound from the dagger, my abdomen is also aching.
Looking at my wounds, it is undeniable that I was treated by a doctor. Some of my wounds are sutured and if not, I would have probably died due to blood loss. Surprisingly, my wounds healed faster. As far as I remember, these wounds were deeper yesterday. Some of the scratches that I gained yesterday from climbing all the way at the top of the falls are also gone.
Weird. I looked at my phone in order to confirm that it was only yesterday. It is. Although it is already afternoon, I only slept for one night. I’m sure that my feet are wounded because of the sharp rocks in the falls. It is nowhere to be found today. With the sharp rocks that I stepped upon, it would be impossible that I have no wounds or scars.
‘Feeling better?’ Cordia asked.
‘Yes. I think I am healing faster.’ I said to know her thoughts.
‘You think so? How did we end up here?’ She asked, clueless about these events.
I shrugged, the last thing I remembered was I had a difficulty in breathing and I collapsed.
‘Alpha must have brought you here!’ She exclaimed, bringing my hopes up.
I bit my lip, I am embarrassed with the idea that I confessed right in front of Alpha Xylo. Pain again emerged as I remembered how it did turn. He’s attracted to my sister. The way he answered me, his feelings towards her must be strong. It’s heartbreaking. How could I possibly feel this way if he’s not my way? Must have been an error when I was born.
Hearing the door knob twisted, I sat in my bed. It was dad who entered my room. In his hands is a tray with some food for dinner. I then realized that I was not able to cook for their meals. I smiled at dad, he looked at my wounds.
“Was I treated by a doctor?” I felt the urge to ask. It is kind of unbelievable that they did call a doctor for someone who is as useless as me. Not to mention that I embarrassed them in front of other families.
He handed down the tray on my bedside table. Dad, then, looked at me and nodded. I can never understand dad, he is always expressionless and he seldom speaks. Deep down, I knew that he cares for me. He wouldn’t even bother to visit me if he’s not caring for me. They would have let me bleed to death if they did not care for me. I smiled with the thought of it.
My smile was immediately erased when I remembered the embarrassment that I brought in this family. “I’ll make it up for it, dad.” I wholeheartedly said. I might not be a hopeless case; I just need to practice more.
He nodded again and left my room.
‘Stop putting a show in front of your dad,’ my mom said through telepathy.
‘You brought a shame in his name!’ Mom added angrily.
I trembled in fear. Mom is usually like this, but I still fear her up to this day. Her word is the law in this household. I don’t usually respond when she is angry like this. It would only add fuel to her anger. I am afraid that she’ll hurt me.
I sighed and decided to lay back at my bed, I am too tired to think about everything. As much as possible, I don’t want to think about the things I have no control of. It’s just that, sometimes, I can’t help but to wonder about my purpose in this lifetime. Purpose that I still have no idea up to this age.
With a lot on my mind, I fell asleep and found myself in a different setting.
I looked at my surroundings, I am in a place I have never been before. It seems like an abandoned mansion with gothic features, it looks empty. There is furniture and such but I can’t feel the presence of any individuals.
It is dark and the only source of light is the moon from above. Strangely, it doesn’t scare me. I looked upstairs and decided to walk in there. Several rooms are present in the second floor of this mansion but I felt something intriguing in the farthest room from the staircase.
As I walked towards that room, I could feel that it was inviting me. I bit my lip before entering the room. The door is not locked and it is slightly open which made it easier for me to go inside.
I could say that the room is enormous, but what caught my attention is a woman on the balcony. She is standing at the corner of the balcony with her body facing away from me. I can’t see her face. All I could see is her white semi curly hair and that she’s wearing a blue dress. With the wind coming from outside, her hair and dress are both dancing with it. She has this light that illuminates around her body.
I am sure that I haven’t seen her before, I could say that she does not belong in our pack. However, I am not afraid at all. Instead, I can feel at ease. It must be her illuminating aura that surrounds her, it made me feel assured and safe.
I had no courage to walk towards her and all I could ask was, “who are you?”
Her hair is dancing with the wind. I am so determined to know her; she brings peace in me. She was about to face me. I could see that with slight change with her body movement. All I could think of is to know her.
