Plotted Assassination
Clary's POV
I did not realize that death was rapid, that your soul will just drift away from your physical body and then you will roam in an endless tunnel with no light to see. Everything was dark and I could have sight of anything. It feels like I am walking eternally to find some light that could be possibly my destination, but there was none. Everything is just dark, as if the word has changed its color and I can't do anything about it.
Now, all I could think is that I should have live my life vividly. I could have enjoyed the colors from the world, I could have watched the rainbow more. I could have appreciated the color of blood, despite being painful. At least, there was some color on it. Not in this place, where black is constant.
"Erina..." There was some voice calling from the dark, it wasn't me that she was calling though. But I have to go to her and ask some directions where I could rest peacefully.
I walked...and walked. I even ran just to find that woman calling out of nowhere. She was nowhere to be found, though. She was probably in my mind and I am just hallucinating things. I chuckled at that thought, do dead wolves hallucinate things? That sounded absurd.
"Now is not the time, you still have life to carry on..." The woman, who is in my head, said. If I have a life to carry on, then why am I here in this endless tunnel? Was it supposed to be the tunnel for reincarnation? Now, reincarnation sounded good. I would live my life in the best way possible.
Suddenly, a blinding white light appears out of nowhere. I ran towards that direction to find the answers to my questions. Supernatural being might be there and I could use some wish for the next life that I am hoping to have.
I probably stumble with something that I felt that I am falling from a high building and when I woke up, I found myself in a bed in some antique house.
My brows crossed with the sight of the house, it looks familiar to me. I just don't remember where I saw it.
"You are finally awake," said by some old woman beside me.
I scanned my body, it turns out that I am still in the same body that I was before. There were also gunshot wounds that I have received from that night.
"Where am I?" I asked out of panic as I immediately stood up from the bed. The wounds that I have gained do not hurt that much that I was able to move.
I couldn't think of anything but find a way back to Alpha. He must have been so worried with me. My father, too. They are probably looking for me right now.
"Northeast mountains," said by the old woman. She looks and harmless. Actually, she is holding a basin and cloth. Probably taking care of me. But that doesn't justify why I am here in this place. I haven't even gone to this place. Is he my father's friend?
"I have to meet my father," and Alpha...
She sat down on the chair beside the bed that I was sleeping. She also put down the basin that she was holding on the table near her chair. That made me nervous, she looks serious as if something had happened.
"You were already dead in your hometown." She said seriously, she does not look like to be kidding around.
"H-huh?" I asked with a confusion. It made me sat down on the bed where I was earlier.
"Our family saved you from the wolves that have attacked you, one of us were not able to make it. She was killed by protecting you, her body was full of wounds and scratch from the wolf's claw that makes her difficult to recognize. They thought that she was you and held your funeral." The old woman explained, but the more that I heard from her, the more that it sounded confusing.
I am already dead? My father held a funeral for me and mistaken me for someone that I am not? That sounds so absurd and it was too ridiculous to believed. So they did mourn over someone that was not me? That is so ridiculous.
"I have to go to my father." I said firmly. If they mistaken that body as me, then I need to go there and explain what happened! I cannot stay here hidden, while they were mourning.
"That was three months ago, they moved on." She said with the look I can't understand.
Three months? I have been unconscious for three months? and they didn't even notice that the body was not mine? It was too shocking that I have to looked for the calender to see if she is lying or not. To my surprise, the time really flew that way. It was still unconvincing, I needed to find my dad and tell him that I am alive.
"I still need to meet my dad!" I said in full protest. I can't believe whatever that she was saying, I need to hear my dad's words. I need to hear Alpha's words, he must be feeling horrible if he really believed that I was dead. Or he is really? Am I that important for him?
She nodded, respecting the words that I have stated. "Just bring Marcus with you, he will protect you in case someone would attempt to attack you again."
I shook my head, unbelieving everything she had just said. I woke up after three months, only to see these strangers claiming that they have protected me from those wolves? It sounded so ridiculous! Everything is just too much to understand. Who is Marcus, anyway?
I am so confused with everything. Unable to think if I should really trust them.
"...and I think you should know, your sister plotted that assasination of yours."
