Baby in Her Womb
Clary's POV
"H-How sure are you?" I asked, not really convinced on what she has said. My sister has of course an anger issues and she was really angry the last time I saw her. She is impatient and she was never been good to me, but killing me? Did she really plot that? How could she do that to her own sister?
I have understood her, for almost killing me. For that day that she has almost broke every bone that I have in this body. I have understood her sentiments about that, I have understood that she was angry when she saw us being together. I could let it go, even if it almost killed me. But now, she really plotted to kill me? It was far from what I deserve. It was unfair, how could she decide for my life?
I have never asked her to treat me with respect, to treat me like her sister. I never asked her that, but she was out of line. Kill me? Kill her own sister? I couldn't believe her! I betrayed her for loving the man that she likes too, but killing me? I couldn't help but question everything.
"Would you mind if I tour you around?" The old woman asked, still not answering the question that I threw regarding my sister and my death.
I nodded, I have many time in my hands. After being mistaken as dead, I don't think I will need to rush things. There is no need to run back again in that place, where I was killed by my own sister. If this old woman was saying the truth.
However, my gut says that she is telling the truth and that I could trust her. I could feel that I am at peace when she is with me. Probably, the three months that I have been here, unconscious, made my body comfortable at this place.
While we were walking down the stairs, I suddenly remembered where I saw this place. It was the house or mansion that I have been dreaming about! I can't believe it! Was that dream supposed to warn me about the night that I was attempted to be killed?
I was about to ask the old woman if they have some psyche powers when she stopped in front of a large portrait in the living room. When I looked at the portrait, I saw the woman who has been in my dreams! I am sure that it was her. Without any doubt, it really is her.
"W-Where is she?" I asked out of confusion. Is it normal to have a dream of someone you have never met? I am so confused with everything that has happening around me.
She just smiled and the nostalgia have touched her eyes, "she is beautiful, right?"
I nodded. The first time that I saw her face in my dream, I have already admired her and the aura that was surrounding her. She shines like a moon in that night. No, actually, she shines more than the moon. I just got afraid when she handed a dagger to me.
"Everyone had adore her. Every man of her age here had courted her, but she fell in love with the man outside of this mountain. It was every man's desire to help here or even lay a finger on her hand, but she fell in love with the man that she saved herself. She saved him the first time they met. That man was kind, but I couldn't understand why of all wolves, she had fallen for a married man." She narrated, her voice was full of regret as she tries to reminisce those days. I could only listen to her, I might shift her mood if I ask too many things. So I only listened... It does sound interesting too.
"She went home one day and told me that she was pregnant. I was of course furious when I heard her saying those things. How could she be pregnant when she was not even married? How could she be pregnant when she hasn't even introduced a man? I was angry and furious, unbelieving the things that she have done..." She smiled, still the nostalgia is evident in her eyes.
I looked at the portrait of her in the wall. She looks innocent but brave, it was the mixture of both and I couldn't say exactly the words that would fit her.
"In the middle of my anger, she exclaimed that she was really in love with this man. She admitted that she has fallen in love with a married man. Then, a man has came inside this house. He looks smart and brave, I could tell why she fell for him. But still, he was a married man." She stopped telling the story as she looks for a chair where she can seat, probably getting tired of standing for a long time.
I just follow her movement with my eyes, too hooked with the story that she was narrating.
"That man...was George Vertina."
I looked with her with the most surprised look I could ever have. My dad...cheated on my mom? I couldn't believed it, he was always loyal to my mom. He would always give her the things that she wanted.
Now, I am starting to doubt everything that his old woman has told. It was impossible that dad would cheat! I never thought that he would. He was always quiet, how could he do that to my mom?
I shook my head, unbelieving everything that she had just said.
"...and the baby that she carried in her womb was you. She is your biological mother." M why mom never treated me as a daughter. It started to make sense why I am so different in that family.
