Chapter Sixteen( My Derry......)

Mira's Pov:

She stares at me as if I did lose it. I uncomfortably shifted on the bed before motioning for her to tell me about Nicholas's brother. I can't do anything again since the word has already slipped from my lips. Telling her to forget it, will make it look suspicious but who am I kidding, I can't deny that I so much wanted to hear about him. To know what she has to say about him.

"Why…. Why do you want to know about Derrick?" She asked me with a narrow eyebrow.

I close my eyes as I tried wrapping the name around my head, the name sounds so sweet, enchanting, and most especially appealing that I feel f****g drawing to it.

"My Derry…" I inwardly moaned.

"What the fuck…." I screamed surprisingly within myself as I tried recollecting what just happened.

"Did I just say that….. Like my Derry?" I asked myself.

"Ouch…. Why am I so stupid?" I asked myself as I hit my head to impact some senses into it.

"Are you ok….?" She asked with a concerned look.

"Do you have a headache?" She asked.

"I am perfectly fine….you can continue," I gave her a phony smile when motioning for her to continue.

"If you are ok, then why did you hit your head?" She asked with a tender look.

"Did I hit my head….?" I was totally confused.

"When did I hit my head?" I asked myself.

"Dramatic…." Heaven taunts. I roll my eyes at her.

"Just shut up, let's hear what she has to say about Derrick," Heaven cheerfully whispered.

"Looks like someone is also interested…mmmm," I teasingly said.

"Do you see you don't know that you hit your head, that shows that you are not ok," I snapped out of my little conversation with Heaven, as Angel said to me in a worried tone?

I..I……I tried speaking but heaven interrupted me.

"Shut up….you talk too much," she said causing me to roll my eyes at her again.

"Is nothing to worry about for I am perfectly fine, just having a little chit-chat with my wolf," I said as I gesture for her to continue.

"Ok, if you said so….. Derrick is one lovely and easy-going person, though he is twin to Nicholas they are opposite of each other. They look the same, strong, well built, and possess the same Alpha blood but there is still some difference," she said dreamily, making me feel jealous and a tinge of bitterness in my throat. Heaven snarled at her.

"What's wrong….?" She was surprised that I snarled at her.

"Nothing dear, don't worry," I said with a fake smile, I am f****g confused right now.

"Are you sure that you are ok ?" She asked again.

"Yes…. I am fine, continue," I said with a phony smile.

"What's wrong with us?" I asked Heaven with a troubled look.

"I don't know dear, looks like something is wrong somewhere. Something doesn't feel right," Heaven murmured.

"Yea….something fishy is going on," I whispered back to her.

"Why did we feel jealous about Angel having a crush on Derrick…?" I asked Heaven.

"Just the mere of her eyeing Derrick….makes me wanna crush and tear her apart," Heaven spit bitterly.

"Yes…but easy Angel has done no wrong," I tried calming possessive Heaven down.

I won't lie that it hurt and I can feel my throat burns as I watch Angel talk about Derrick in that expression.

"I have to behave myself…. I can't be possessive of someone that I knew nothing about and of all people is Nicholas's twin brother," I mumbled.

"I have to stop this…. I mean this dumb attitude," I said but before I knew I divert back to the same conversation.

"Looks like you like him…," I said to her, though my mouth felt heavy to utter those words and my throat felt sore and bitter but I forced myself and smiled at her.

"Yeah, every woman loves him….he is every woman's dream," she said with pouty lips.

"Wow…." I said as I indirectly glared at her.

"Yeah…sometimes I wish that he will be my mate, that the moon goddess….. I didn't allow her to finish as I said.

"Yes, I am sure that your mate is elsewhere waiting for you, but here you are dying for someone else," I snickered at her.

"But I wish he was the one…" she whined, causing me to roll my eyes at her.

"As a friend, you are supposed to pray for my wish to come to pass," she mumbled.

"No way!!!...." I half yelled. She flinches back in fear and stares confusingly.

"Sorry for shouting….." I said after I regained myself. I nervously stretch my neck.

"I just pray for the mate that the moon goddess designed for you to locate you because you deserve to be happy," I pat her shoulder as I said those words.

"But I…….."

"Shhhhh….no but, your true mate will locate you. Now let's talk about something else," I said when heading towards the fridge. She stared at me for a few minutes before she shrugged her shoulders.

"The gamma, is he always grumpy?" I asked her.

She smiles bitterly at me before moving to the bed to sit. "The whole family is always looking grumpy except the wife….."

"What do you mean by family? Does he have children?" I asked while closing the fridge and walking toward the nearby chair to sit down.

"Of course, haven't you seen her…" she spoke confusingly.

"No, I thought the reason behind his grumpiness is due to the lack of a child…..oh! Wait, I remember Luna said that I should meet his daughter soon…" I surprisingly muttered.

"Yeah…he has a daughter, Nengi," she said sarcastically.

"Nengi…." I mumbled.

"Yes…Nengi," she badly uttered. I don't know why, but I don't feel comfortable with that name. I already feel an enormous hatred toward the name and that's what I find strange.

"What's wrong with me? I can't be f****g attracted to a name and at the same time have a huge hatred for another name of people that I haven't even met," I stretch my scalp in frustration as I wonder what's wrong with me.

"But she looks nothing like her father, right? I mean she might be a jovial person," I asked, though it doesn't even sound convincing to me. Though the name sounds of danger to me, the name irks for me to be careful but I needed to know the reason behind my sudden uneasiness around the name.

"She is worse than the father…..she has made my stay here a living hell and a nightmare but the worst part is that nobody knows of her evilness as they view her as an innocent and loving creature…." She uttered with a hurtful tone.

"Even Nicholas…." I uttered the word before I knew it.

She glances at me for some minutes before she utters the word that pierces through my soul like a silver blade.

"They are fond of each other…..she is his girlfriend…."
