Chapter Fifteen( The Confused Word)

Mira's Pov:

We all sat at the dining table without uttering any word, who dared to say a word except Nicholas who kept glaring deadly at me. The beta and gamma were dangerously glaring at each other, Virginia gave ma a pitiful look before diverting her attention back to her husband. The beta and gamma wives also were giving me the same pitiful look, I gave them a small smile that I am ok, whereas I am not one-quarter close to being, ok. I seriously wanted to run away from this place or even crawl under the table to avoid Nicholas's destructive gaze.

I slowly peered at his beta, who was bending his head with his two eyes closed. I just wish I could do that but I can feel someone's boring heated glare at me. I bit my bottom lips nervously, as I prayed for the Alpha Den to calm down his anger and reconsider us. My middle lap is already sweating due to uneasiness. "Who sent me to growl at Nicholas? I always end up in trouble, now look at what I have caused. Assume I haven't put my mouth in their conversation, this shouldn't have happened. There shouldn't be a misunderstanding between the beta and the gamma but everything happened due to my stupidity.

I don't know why but I didn't even feel bad or remorse for growling at Nicholas rather I felt like that was what I was supposed to do, I felt like it is my responsibility and duty to protect his twin brother.

I hiss as I caress my scalps to calm myself down. " Looks like I am losing it," I murmured to myself.

"We have both lost it…." Heaven mumbled.

"How can we growl at Nicholas…. Because of someone, we knew nothing about," Heaven sadly said.

"Yeah… you are right, we are both crazy," I whispered.

"He is going to deal with us…." Heaven whimpered.

"Yes….indeed," I bitterly said.

"You all can go….." Alpha Den declared. I was snapped out of my little world by his word, I watched as he gestured for us to leave with his hand.

"Finally…." I said as I did the sign of the cross within me as I quickly stood up from my chair towards the exit.

"Not you Mira…" the blood drained from my face as the Alpha stopped me from leaving, I looked pale as I watched others exit the room. The gamma hurls glares my way as he angrily exits the room, I swear I can see hatred and wickedness in his brown eyes. The hazardous look he gave me, fears me to the core. As I know if not told that this man truly hates my existence, it feels as if he wasn't comfortable with me being here.

"Who even wants to be here…?" I rolled my eyes as I questioned myself within.

I was forced into this mess without my consent, I have been trapped in this trauma by my parents, the people that I thought wanted my happiness because of their selfish interests. I curled my fists.

"This is not what I need to be thinking now,"

"I need to find an escape…." I whispered merely to myself.

The beta pats my shoulder before exiting the room, whereas the wives gave me an encouraging smile. "Sometimes I wonder how an innocent woman like this got stuck with a demon," I said as I watched the gamma's wife walk away.

"The same way you will get stuck with that demon husband and mate of yours…." Heaven taunts.

"Thank God, that we are both getting married to him…. and not only me," I taunt her back.

"Let's get out of here…" Nicholas said to his beta, as he stood up to leave but not without pushing me out of his way, I stumbled back a bit but regained my composure instantly. I watched in horror as everyone left the room including Virginia who also pats my back encouragingly before leaving.

"Come closer…." Alpha Den said as he gestured for me to come close with his middle finger. With heavy breath and shaky legs, I move in his direction but not too close to him.

He stared at me for some minutes before saying. "Be strong…"

"Ummm…." I uttered, totally confused.

"No matter anything….no matter the situation be strong," he said as he pats my shoulder before exiting leaving me completely confused.

"Be strong…." I mumbled.

"No matter what, be strong…" I repeat his words and tried wrapping them around my head.

"Why would he say those words to me?" I asked nobody in particular as I stared at the thin air.

"Is he dying or am I dying..?" I asked, confused.

"No way!..." I screamed as I facepalmed myself.

"But wait…. Why am I screaming?" I asked myself as I turned around in confusion.

"Enough thinking, I am losing it," Heaven whined.

"We have lost it already," I said to her before strolling to my room.

"Be strong…. no matter what," that word kept ringing in my head as I walked towards my room. I pulled the door open as I found Angel arranging my clothes. I trudge tiredly to my bed and my face falls on top of the mattress.

"Today was draining…." I signed.

"Good day, Mira.." Angel greeted me, she addressed me by my name when we were alone though it was hard for her before she started doing it. I know how I forced and even went to the extent of threatening her if she doesn't loosen herself around me and be herself around me.

"Good day to you too, Angel," I greeted back as I recall the events of today, from growling at Nicholas because of his twin brother to the gamma who hates my existence and finally to Alpha Den who decided to put me to confusion by his words. I scratched my neck nervously before I signed.

"What do you know about Nicholas's twin brother?" I asked her without knowing when the word escaped my lips.

"Umm…. '' She snapped her head quickly at me as she asked, completely confused.

" Umm…." I said with a small fake smile as I scratched my head in uncertainty.
