Chapter Twenty ( Waiting for the groom......)

Mira's Pov:

I gave Angel a small smile before walking out of the room, the omegas grinned at me as they mumbled congratulations. I nod my head with a smile as Angel guides me out of their presence, my throat tastes bitter, and I feel nausea. I felt uncomfortable and nervous about this whole thing.

Walking down the stairs, I almost stumble, holding the rails to avoid falling with my wedding gown, I surprisingly stare at a feminine figure running her fingers on Nicholas. Helping him arrange his tie and dust off invisible dust from his cloth, I fume with anger as I tried growling at her.

"Any problem, Miss," Angel asked with concern. I ignored her as I kept glaring daggers at those hands on my mate. Nicholas stiffened as our eyes connected, he fixed his eyes on me as he narrowed them in anger, he kept giving me what the hell looked like, he kept giving me a sign to compose myself and walk away but I am not having it this time around. He can do anything but I can't withstand someone running her hands-on him. I tried opening my mouth but he dangerously glared at me, who can resist the mate bond, obviously not me.

"Miss, what's the problem? We should….. Angel didn't get to finish as I growled madly.

" Get your fifty hands off him, now!!!...." The words got stuck on my lips as I watched with shock as the feminine figure slowly turned, I felt the blood drain out of my body. I nervously looked at her, I clutched my wedding gown so tight as my whole body trembled in fear. She took glimpses at me before giving me a sly smile, a mischievous one for that matter.

"Aren't you the pathetic creature that I saw in the hallway the other time….?" She said in a mocking tone. Nicholas straightened himself as he mockingly stared at me. The word pierced my heart like a sharp blade, my heart bleed as I watched my husband be, careless for me.

"Nengi…." The word surprisingly slipped out of my lips before I knew it.

"Yes……nice to meet you, mute girl," she sarcastically mumbled. Angel was trembling in fear behind me, I so much wanted to protect her but who am I kidding when I couldn't save myself from this pit of hell.

"You must be the arranged bride," she said innocently to me, though she looks innocent those words sound like a warning to me, her words look innocent but there is a strong warning within. Something like hatred and anger flashed in her eyes like lightning as she glared dangerously at me, I staggered back but regained my balance easily, her eyes sent a chill all over my body.

She turned to Nicholas who was busy on his phone as the whole event was going on, she ran her fingers on his abs seductively "I thought that Luna has a taste but this thing here……. I mean this mute," turning around she pointed in my direction as she spoke.

"This creature here is a slap on our faces, I mean how could she rule by your side….. Just take a look at those…… she said by pointing to my shapes with a disapproving look. For Nicholas's first time raising his head and he glared at me with a vicious smile and disapproval.

" How could your mom do this to you……..? How could she…?" She fake hurts as Nicholas embraces her, he rubs her back with a peak on her neck and head. My heart twists as I watch them trying to comfort each other, I watch them with a broken heart all lovely. I took a glimpse of a shivering Angel behind me, she was giving me a "let's get out of here " look. I nod in approval but my leg felt heavy to go as my eyes felt burly watching the scene in front of me. I tried taking a step but my head hurts as I find it difficult to wrap everything happening around my head. No longer going to withstand the pain anymore, I forcefully dragged myself out of the scene.

Angel releases the breath she was holding and tries to rub my back to smoothen me but I send her a quick glare causing her to withdraw her back immediately and stare at me with shock. Her comfort or pity is not what I needed now, allowing her to comfort me will make me break down. In an actual sense, I should be the one protecting and comforting her after going through those demons but I couldn't even stand up for myself "so am I to save her?" I signed before I continued the walk to the wedding hall. My face looks pale, dull, and flush.

Standing at the entrance door, I swallowed hard as I motioned for Angel to open it. She pulled it open with everyone's eyes fixed on me, the whole hall was already filled with people. Everyone had already occupied the chairs, I noticed that they were all waiting for us. Angel smiled at me before disappearing behind the crowds. My father was supposed to accompany me to the altar but here I found myself all alone. My husband was supposed to be here waiting for me but here I also found myself waiting for him. With shaky legs, I walked toward the altar and stood in my position. For four hours, Nicholas hadn't arrived. I stood there like a pathetic and cheap lonely girl waiting for her husband. I looked up and met Virginia's eye who gave me a sorry look and tried to mind link someone.

For more than three hours, Nicholas hadn't shown up, my legs were paining me, and the heels that I was in weren't helping the matter either. Murmuring started arising as everywhere was nosy, I noticed my parents uneasy, I knew they wanted this marriage at all cost. I gave out a faint smile as I glanced at my sisters with Vivian looking pained but Khloe I couldn't say the same about her. I grasped someone coming through the entrance door, I clasped my wedding gown so tight.

The door was pulled open as the murmuring started dying down, behind the door was a feminine figure so enchanting, appealing, and sexily walking through it. The whole people had their eyes fixed on her, she smiled sheepishly as she walked past everyone to go sit behind her father. Sitting down she gave me a taunting smile.

"Nengi…. I could have known better," thought me.

I continued standing there, with pain visible in my eyes, the priest gave me a pitiful look for I have stood there for hours. Sweat was already trailing down my body, sweat had already soaked my back despite the air conditioner there. Still, in discomfort, the door was pulled open with force revealing my demon mate and husband to be " Nicholas"
