Chapter Twenty-One ( The Wedding: Humiliation)

Third person's Pov:

Everywhere deadly went quiet as Nicholas walked towards the altar, just after the hours of standing there Mira's legs were already paining her. She indirectly tried stretching them but the priest noticed how uncomfortable and tired she looked and gave her a pitiful look before giving her a small smile which Mira returned to him.

"Umm…." Mira smiled back at him, she was tired of people giving her a pitiful look, she was tired of all their pity. She raises her head and Mira couldn't help but admire the Greek God in front of her. She took a glimpse of his features and stature, her eyes twinkled as she hungrily glanced at her husband-to-be. She so much wanted to run her fingers on his abs but her stomach was crushed as she thought of her and Nicholas having an intimacy, and her smile was wiped off as Nicholas who was now standing in front of her threw her a dangerous look. His eyes were ice cold and intimidating, she cleared her throat immediately and tried composing herself.

"Now that the groom is here, let's begin the wedding..….." The priest said.

Throughout the whole procession, Mira kept fiddling with her clothes, till the priest dropped the bombshell.

"You may now kiss the bride….."

Mira's heart flew by the mention of those words, her heart ran a different marathon. Her heart was beating very fast that the person close to her would hear the sound, her hands were already wet. Nicholas glared at the priest whose smile was replaced by fear, the priest stretched his neck nervously as he confusingly gestured for Nicholas to kiss the bride with a forced smile. Nicholas clenched his fists so tight as he gritted his teeth in anger, the crowd was already cheering for them to kiss. The crowds were cheering in happiness, Mira slowly peered at the guests, and her eyes connected with those silver eyes. The angry eyes sent chills down her spine, and she shivers in fear before diverting her eyes elsewhere, her family members were all cheering for them together with the crowd. They were beaming with smiles as their faces lit up, Mira swallowed her throat before diverting her attention to Nicholas.

Nicholas uplifts her vale, placing his hand on the back of her head she pulls her towards him. Mira"s lips twitched as she stared at those luscious lips of Nicholas, her breathing still as Nicholas leaned closer to her face. He sealed their lips together as the whole of the audience screamed in happiness. Screams and cheers were echoing in the whole place as Nicholas deepened the kiss, Mira stood there not knowing how to react as everything still felt strange to her. When she finally dazed out of her little world she tried to react to the kiss, she tried kissing Nicholas back but he pulled out immediately and walked out of the wedding hall.

The earth felt like it was spinning, Mira stood there not knowing what to do, she felt embarrassed and ashamed to look at the audience in the eyes as the whole place went quiet all of a sudden. Everyone's eye was now on her to know her next move, there was confusion written all over their faces. Tears were stuck in the corner of her blue crystal eyes, due to the welling of her eyes it makes it look like a deep ocean. Her heart breaks with every passing minute, she slowly lifted her head and stared at her family. All of them except Khloe bent down their heads immediately as they were ashamed to look her in the eyes.

"They have seen what she should be proud of…." thought Mira.

"Proud of being humiliated in front of every single soul…..? She cried within.

A lone tear slid down her cheeks, she curled her fists as she bit her mouth to avoid sobbing. She didn't want anybody to see her as weak or vulnerable, she didn't want anybody to see how affected she was. She was surprised about everything and carried away by the kiss that she didn't know that Nicholas had another thing coming for her, she never saw it coming.

" Mira, baby…." Virginia called.

Everyone turned from her to Virginia for she had broken the once quiet place, they were all in anticipation waiting for her to continue.

"Mira……baby….." Virginia called again with a shaky tone since Mira has paid deaf ears to all of her callings. She truly felt bad for Mira, her son's action embarrassed her to the core. Alpha Den is already fuming with anger, his facial expression has darkened and no one dares to anger him now to avoid outraging the beast within. Mira raised her head again to know why Virginia was calling her, seeing pain and pity flicker in Virginia's eyes, hurting her.

"Why is she hurt…?" She painfully asked herself.

"I shouldn't be feeling bad for her…. I am the one hurt, I am the one humiliated. I am the one dying in silence, I am the one in pain," cried Mira.

"This shouldn't have happened…. Nicholas and I shouldn't have happened,"

"I couldn't have been made a subject of mockingly if only that……. She didn't get to finish as sobs escaped her throat, placing her hand on her mouth to avoid sobbing. She never wanted them to view her as a weak creature but here she is sobbing, she never wanted them to see her break down. She always acts strong like she wasn't affected but here she is battling with her emotions, she never wanted their pity for it makes her feel worthless but here is everyone staring at her with pity.

Virginia with pain tried taking a step toward her, Mira shook her head in disapproval with tears sliding down her cheeks and signaled for her to remain where she was. Mira embarrassingly took a glimpse at the audience before dashing out of the wedding hall with speed, murmuring started arising again among the audience as Mira took to her heels. Holding her wedding dress with her cries echoing the four walls of the pack she ran out of the wedding hall, she didn't know where she was going but all she ever wanted was to escape from this misery. She prayed for the moon goddess to uplift her burden from her for she is too weak to carry them and also too young to withstand this torture.
