Chapter Twenty-Eight ( Being possessive of my brother's wife)

Third person's pov:

"If getting the full blame to avoid this all thing from transpiring, then he is ready to do it," Derrick murmured within himself.

"Oh!! No, you don't blame yourself…." Joyce the beta's wife said in a concerned tone. The Alpha was in deep thought since everything was going on, he was in serious thought about who the person might be that he cares less about what was happening around him.

"Same here….. You are one of the bravest people that I have come in contact with," Virginia whispered to Derrick as she playfully smacked his shoulder to brighten his mood.

"Hey, mom! That hurts….." He forges hurt as he rubs his shoulder.

The gamma cleared his throat "Alpha, luna since we are done here, I need to retire to my chamber. Please if you could excuse me," he said with his head bent down respectively.

After hours of still standing with his head cast down, he noticed that the Alpha didn't spare him any glance or acknowledged him. He cleared his throat again and repeated what he just said a while ago. The atmosphere was awkward as Luna stared at her husband and saw that he was in deep thought so she did one thing that she was supposed to do: "Please, pardon……."

The gamma Mr. Philip nodded his head as he waited for her to continue.

"Since we are done here and there is nothing left to say though we will still have a meeting this weekend on how to track the rogue's leader down till then we all need to retire back to our rooms and rest for the day…….but let what happened here remains in here, please," Virginia said.

Mr. Philip nodded in understanding as he motioned for his daughter for them to go. "I need to go…." Nengi mumbled to Virginia and others with a small bow.

"You go have some rest….." Joyce replied to her with a motherly tone.

"Umm…….." She forces a smile at Joyce as she secretly winks at Nicholas in a sultry way but tries her best to avoid eye contact with Lucien whose facial expression hardened as he noticed Nengi's sultrily behavior towards Nicholas who pulled a long face like nothing just happened.

Not long after the gamma left with his daughter, Lucien angrily stood up "Excuse me, I also need to take my leave……" he announced with discomfort, though he tried to cover up his hurt, the pain was still visible in his tone as he spoke.

"Yeah……" Luna said with an unwilling smile. She noticed that Lucien was hurt and she doesn't know the reason.

"What happened……" Joyce asked with concern, writing all over her face as she stared at her son.

"Nothing….." That was the only word that left Lucien's lips before he closed the door behind him, Joyce, a concerned mother, stood up immediately and went after her son. Mr. Peter impatiently cleared his throat and left as well.

"Lucien doesn't look happy….." Derrick complained.

"I thought I was the only one that noticed it….." Virginia with a low tone mumbled.

"It was too obvious no matter how much he tries to cover it up," said Derrick.

"Am sure it was because of what transpired between his father and Mr, Philip," Nicholas explained.

"But Lucien is not the type to get angry easily, especially over an argument…… he is f****g collective, for him to be this angry and hurt it must be a huge thing," Derrick disagreed with Nicholas as he tried to know if he could place his finger on what could have triggered Lucien.

"How long have you been away from here?" asked Nicholas.

"Just six months….." countered Derrick.

"Then isn't it enough reason for you to see that Lucien might have changed….. I know him better," Nicholas taunts him.

"We grew up together so I know him and besides six months isn't enough for someone to change," Derrick insists.

"People do change….." Nicholas let out.

"Enough!....." Alpha Den who has been keeping quiet for a long now growled in his Alpha tone as he noticed that this little argument might lead to a misunderstanding between his sons. For even if Derrick took it as nothing, Nicholas will take it seriously and that is why he needs to put it to an end before it becomes heated. They all kept quiet instantly as they noticed the angry face of their father.

"I thought you were in deep thought…." asked Virginia, to her husband.

"Yeah…..we need to find the culprit," Alpha Den mumbled.

"Why don't you rest then tomorrow we can talk about this……you don't have to stress yourself too much because of your health and besides your sons are here to take care of it," she caresses his forehead to smoothen and calm his wolf down. Derrick stared at his parent's love with Jealous as he wished to find his mate and treat her special while Nicholas stared at them with disgust and an irritated face.

"We will throw you a welcome party….." Alpha Den announced.

"Wow!! That's great….." Virginia swings her waist in happiness causing everyone to burst out laughing, she has a party vibe and that's where Nicholas inherited it from.

"And that sounds great….." The two twins said in unison.

"Umm…..and that reminds me I haven't seen your wife since I returned, bro," Derrick asked Nicholas. At the mention of his wife, Nicholas's cheerful face hardened instantly.

"Why do you want to see her…..?" Nicholas said with a harsh tone.

"Really….. Why couldn't I see her, of course, she is married to my brother, or don't I have the right to see her," Derrick confusedly reacted.

"She isn't important….." Nicholas spits out in anger.

"What!!!......" The word left Derrick's lips before he could stop it.

"You don't say that about your wife," Alpha Den lashed out at Nicholas, he almost flinched back but he maintained his position immediately.

"She is your wife, Nicholas, no matter what," Virginia tried talking sense into him.

"What happened…..?" Derrick asked no one in particular as he just recuperated from what just happened.

"I'm out of here…." Nicholas said as he stood up and walked towards the door.

"You don't step your foot out of the door," Alpha Den yelled angrily.

"Come back here, Nicholas!!...." Virginia dubbed Nicholas who paid deaf ears to all their calls and shouts and left the place.

"That's it……" Alpha Den angrily hit his hand on the table causing Derrick and Virginia to flinch back as Alpha Den ruffled his hair in anger, he kept pacing around the place.

"What's happening….?" Derrick confusedly asked.

"Nothing……" Virginia mumbled.

"Nothing!!!...... Then what's all this if it was nothing," Derrick snarled as Virginia snapped her head at him surprisingly. Derrick doesn't know what, but he feels the urge to protect this girl and his heart bleeds when Nicholas said she wasn't important, it only took its might not to rip off his brother's head.

"What's wrong…?" Virginia with her eyes popped out in surprise and her mouth hanging open asked a fuming Derrick.

"I should be the one asking that….." He spits.

"I am your mother, you don't talk to me anyhow," Virginia blasts.

"Then answer me…… " Derrick growls.

"Answer what? What's wrong with you?" Virginia lashes at him

"You dare not raise your voice at your mother," Alpha Den growls dangerously at him causing Derrick to stagger back, his father still has this effect on him. He doesn't even know what just came over him, why he was possessive of his brother's wife, a lady he hasn't met for a day.

"I have a mate, the girl that ran out the first time we met, instead of me to be searching for her but here I am protecting and being possessive of another girl most especially my brother's wife. What will my mate think of me an ***asshole or man whore*** I need to think straight," Derrick battles within him as he struggles to think straight, he ruffled his hair in frustration as he noticed he wasn't making sense like he was losing it.

"Am sorry…mom and dad for raising my voice at you guys. Honestly, I don't know why I reacted this way and I feel f*****g ashamed of my behavior," he said with his head cast down.

"Though I was angry and at the same time surprised at your outburst but I know you didn't mean any of those, you were just defending your sister-in-law so whatever might have happened…… I have forgiven you," Virginia said to Derrick.

"Thanks, mom….." He mumbled happily as he embraced his mother in a tight hug.

"We have forgiven you," Alpha Den said as he playfully ruffled Derrick's hair. They all burst out laughing as Derrick makes a disgusted look.

"If my brother said that she isn't important then that means she wasn't important….." Derrick whispered within him.
