Chapter thirty- one ( The secret passage)

Mira's Pov:

Sitting on the floor in my room, Angel and I were having our girly time. I was seriously enjoying our conversation, she is fun and lively to be around. We were done eating but too lazy to go keep the plate downstairs, we were laughing and chatting to the extent I couldn't remember my pain and misery. We were talking before something clicked in my brain. I needed to ask her this thing though I have been in this pack for months and still am not that familiar with everywhere so I believe she would know better because she grew up here and has stayed longer than I.

"Hey, Angel…." I whispered barely audible but with her werewolf's ears, I know that she heard me.

"Yes…..any problem?" She unhurriedly asked.

"Hmm……" I stretch my neck since I don't know how to ask her without making it sound suspicious.

"Come on…….you know you can ask me anything and am here to answer," she calmly asked me as she rubs my hand.

"The thing is that……. Hmmm," I gave her a small smile as I battled within me on how to put the words so that it shouldn't sound strange.

"Dramatic……." Heaven hiss

"Hey little wolf, help out," I pleaded to Heaven.

"Just asked her……she is too innocent and besides her heart is pure and she sees you as her sister so you have nothing to worry about," Heaven explained to me.

"How do you know……?" I narrowed my eyes suspiciously at her.

"Don't tell…….wait let it not be what I am thinking," I poked fun at her.

"Ouch!! You nasty creature……" she said in an irritated tone causing me to laugh out loud but within me.

"You thick head…..have you forgotten that we can sense and read someone?" She rolls her eyes as she asks.

"Yeah, whatever…." I mumbled.

"If it is too heavy and hard to say then……

" No ooooo!!…… I didn't allow Angel to finish as I was snapped to reality by her words, my sudden scream made her stare at me in shock.

"Do you know that you do act strange sometimes?" She told me as I gave her a phony smile.

"Yeah, maybe I need therapy," I sarcastically mumbled.

"Ouch!!....." She rolls her eyes at me as she makes a funny face causing me to laugh.

"The thing is that this pack is heavily guarded and someone can't even escape from here," I said after some minutes of laughing.

"Is that what you wanted to ask…..?" Angel asked me in a surprised tone.

"Yeah…..any problem?" I questioned her.

"No!!.....is just that I am surprised that you made it look like you wanted to say something huge, like something important," she muttered, making me release the breath that I was holding. I was even thinking that she was going to start questioning me on why I asked or something like that.

"Yeah, this place is heavily guarded but I know a secret passage that nobody has an idea," she said the last part with a smirk, my ear elongated as I tried getting the full details.

"Where…..?" The word slips out of my lips before I could stop it.

"Is….. But wait, why do you care about the secret passage all of a sudden?" She doubtingly asked me, gosh this is the question that I didn't want her to ask me.

"Nothing……is just what I wanted to know, seeing this whole place heavily guarded by strong warriors. I just have this feeling that rogues can't enter and nobody can also leave without the pack having a notice," I lied, I just hope she didn't find out.

"Aren't you happy about that…..?" asked Angel.

"Happy about what….?" I was confused.

"That those rogues that can't enter," countered Angel.

"Why not!..... Of course, I am more than happy," I sarcastically mumbled but not in a way that she could find out.

"Then why do you ask….." She muttered.

"Can you just answer me and stop all these questions, please," I impatiently grumbled.

"The hiding passage is in the gamma's chamber," she murmured.

"What!!.....how!!.....what do you….. I unexpectedly stammered as I bewilderedly stared at her with my mouth hanging open.

"Hey, look don't say that I told you, please," she sounds nervous. I needed to calm myself to avoid making her uneasy or scaring her, I needed the full details.

"How do you know?" I asked with a lower tone.

She breathes out before saying "You know that I am an omega…."

"Yeah I know, big head," I say as I roll my eyes at her.

"And you know that I told you that I never get along with Nengi," she said with her head cast down.

"Yeah, I know….." I impatiently replied to her.

Raising her head, she said "I was serving them together with the other pack members,"

"Yes…. Come on," I urged her to continue as I stayed calculated to get the full information, the same applies to my wolf. I needed to know the secret passage and how to enter to be able to carry on with our plan on how to escape from this trauma.

"I clean the pack houses and their rooms every morning….." She murmured with pain.

"Umm….." I nodded in approval.

"So one day, I entered the room without knocking since I was trying to be fast in my duty that day, I was weak and since nobody was going to help me out in my duties I have no choice than to do it on my own despite being sick," she mumbled with pain visible in her eyes. I rub her hand to tell her that she wasn't alone and that I am right beside her. That all those things are in the past, I feel her pain and f****g felt bad for her.

"Only God knows what she might have been through," I whispered.

"She has suffered….." Heaven sadly mumbled.

"Entering the room, a door wildly opened and I walked towards the place. Only to find out that it leads towards the woods, a forest……" she muttered.

"I don't know what happened but I have this urge like I was curious to know what that means…… so I followed the path,"

"Walking in the woods, I noticed that it leads to a road, and before I could get a better view I was interrupted by an angry tone," she nervously fiddled with her clothes as she mumbled.

"Interrupted by who……?" I asked since the whole story was getting more interesting.

"I was interrupted by Nengi….. " she barely whispered.

"Nengi……" I surprisingly mumbled.

"Yes, Nengi….. She gave me a stinging slap before asking me what I was doing out there, she slapped me that I still haven't forgotten up till now. The sound still sends cold chills down my spine," she whimpered.

"Then what do you say to her," I smoothened her back as I asked.

"After waking up from the hot slap, I told her the truth of seeing the door open and getting curious about knowing the way that it leads to," she explained.

"Then what happened….." I asked.

"She dragged me to her father, who wanted to cut off my head but insisted since killing me would alarm the pack members….. Though I was an omega, the Luna, Alpha, and some pack members were fond of me so if I by any chance went missing they would know," said Angel.

"But they tortured and tormented me, they issued me a strong warning of not letting anybody knows about this or I will risk being alive…… They treated and tortured me like trash, they are truly a demon," tears rode down her cheeks as she speaks. I move towards her and embrace her warmly, she breaks down as she sobs hard on my shoulder.

After sobbing, she raised her gown small and showed a terrible mark on her lap. I gasped as I stared at her in utter disbelief.

"This is one of the things they do to me, this is to remind me of the things that I will face if the secret passage slips from my lips," she said before standing up and unzipping her gown. I staggered back in shock as I stared at her back, full of marks that will last for eternity

"How could this be possible?" I asked unbelievably.

"You are supposed to heal….. I mean your wolf was supposed to heal you," I confusedly muttered.

"I haven't found my wolf yet and it took me ages to heal," she fought back the tears in her eyes.

"And you didn't tell anyone?" I asked her.

"You want me to die and besides, no one will believe me," she sobbed.

"What do you mean that no one will believe…… I am damn sure that if you showed them the door that they could believe you," I half yelled at her with concern writing all over my face.

"Even if you entered the room, you won't even know that there was a secret passage there," she explained.

"Gosh, you must have gone through a lot," I sadly mumbled.

"Yeah, but it's now in the past," she said sadly. So this is the reason why is always nervous and scared whenever she is around Nengi.

"Please don't tell anybody….." She pleaded.

"I won't I promise," I mumbled.

"Don't ever have anything to do with them…. They are very deadly and dangerous," said Angel.
