Chapter sixty-three( Angel is still alive)

Nengi's pov:

Sipping my drink slowly with music playing in the background with the room light dim, I kept smirking for a job well done. Nobody crosses my path and goes scot-free, not even my mother. The news is spreading faster than I imagined that Angel is dead and her lovely friend Mira couldn't endure the pain and succumbed.

"Haha…what a shame," I let out a mocking laugh.

"They are all foolish and senseless, I just pray that the little wench never wakes up…..

" Let her go and join her little sister in the underworld and continue their misery……

Laughing my heart out I was interrupted by the cracking of the door, I snapped my head dangerously at the spot as I quickly switched on the light. "Who is that……?" I dangerously asked in a tone that I know will send a chill down the spine.

"Calm down, Nene is just me," a figure emerged from the shadows.

"Lucien……." I release the breath that I don't know that I was holding.

"Yes, I am…." He amusingly uttered.

"Why are you here?" My face hardened with a scowl as I asked.

"Am I not allowed in…." With a drawled brow he questioned.

"For the last time why are you here, Lucien," I impatiently drawled.

"Come on, I just wanted to surprise you, you know….." With a smile on, he uttered.

"Don't make me repeat myself…." With eyes shut tight, I tried calming my nerves.

Clearing his throat his face turned serious "Fine, what did you do to Angel…?" He queried.

"What do you mean…?" I suspiciously asked.

"Did you by any way hurt her?" He asked.

"What type of question is that…." I fumes.

"I am asking because Angel is lying dead in the hospital," he annoyingly muttered.

"Is Angel dead…..!!" I denied as I asked in a surprised tone.

"Yes, and you don't have any idea….." He mumbled with a narrowed expression. He looked surprised by my question.

"How am I supposed to know…." I forged hurt and heartbreak.

"But people passing by said that they saw Susan taking her to your room yesterday and you said that you have no idea….." He suspiciously muttered.

Quickly standing up I shot him a deadly glare "Have you lost it, Lucien….. How can you come here and start accusing me…

"How could you…." I instantly let out a sob.

"Hey, calm down I don't mean it that way," bending down he embraced me in a hug.

"But you just did…." Weeping, I complained.

"I am so sorry, Nene…" he pleads with a calm and smooth tone.

"You know that I can't hurt a fly, so how could you accuse me," I cried out.

"I know that Nene .... " he mumbled.

"You don't know that you just….. You just….. Sneezing, I let out a cry.

" I know it's just that….. I am doing my work," he defends.

"Doing your work and you think accusing me is the best thing…." Raising my head from his hold, I allowed tears to flow freely wetting my cheeks.

"Nene, look…." Slowly turning to face me he uses his hands to wipe the tears away "It broke my heart to see you in pain…..

" But you caused it…" with a cracking tone I muttered.

"I was just trying to investigate what might have led to Angel's death…." He declared.

"And you think coming here is the best thing…." She cried out.

"I am so sorry……" he muttered.

"Just leave me…. You claimed to love me but kept hurting me," I broke down and cried.

"Come on, I…… he didn't get to finish as he was still drawing my attention for a while.

" It can't be possible but her body was….. He bewilderingly stared at me as he proceeded with his mind link.

Standing up, he glances at me "I need to go now…." He said urgently.

"Hey, calm down what's going on….." With curiosity, I asked.

"We will discuss once I am back but right now I need…….

" Shhh….." I hunch him, "You are not going anywhere….," I declared with a furrowed brow.

"What!!...... You can't be serious right now I need to go and besides that…..

" Take that as a payback for hurting my feelings….." Pecking his cheeks I carelessly uttered. His body stifled, snapping out of his daze, his smile widening.

"Did you just kiss me!!....." He asked surprised.

"Yeah, and it was just a peck," I replied.

"Still the same, Nene…..Wow! I wasn't expecting that…" he said with amusement.

"You know what, I am not going anywhere…." He let out.

"Really…."

"Yeah," he answered back.

"Let's have a seat……." I sinfully smirked at him, sitting on the sofa with a glass of wine in our hands. I turned my attention back to him.

"What was so urgent that you wanted to leave….." I drawled my eyes at him.

Shrugging his shoulders he replied "The pack doctor said that Angel wasn't dead but just unconscious,"

"What!!!...... Is it possible?" I bewilderingly snarled.

"Are you ok….." He asked with concern.

"Yes, I am more than fine," I gave him a phony smile before diverting my attention away from him. How is that possible? I am damn sure that I killed that wench of a girl so tell me how she was still alive? Anger and confusion flashed in my eyes at once.

"Hey, isn't it a bit confusing….." He mumbled.

"Yes…. Yeah….. I mean yes," I uncomfortably muttered as I stretched my neck nervously.

"The doctor said that the person who tried to kill her thought that she was dead when she might have fallen unconscious……" with his eyes fixed on the wall he uttered.

"Hmm……" I barely whispered.

"What do you think…." Focusing his attention back on me he asked.

"What…." I confusingly asked, my head is in chaos right now. I could not have one job perfectly done, gosh! My father won't be proud if he finds out about this silly move of mine.

"I mean who do you think might want Angel dead…" his question took me by surprise as I instantly stared at him.

"You alright, " he asked.

Tearing my eye away from him I muttered "I am more than ok….. And besides, maybe nobody wants her dead,"

"How could you say that, we found her beside the river bank covered in blood," he announced.

"And how am I to know that, I didn't even know that she was dead, talk more of someone after her life," I denied.

"This is serious….." He quietly whispered.

"And who could be after Angel's life? Come on, that person will be a big-time fool….. Of all people, Angel the orphan, a low-life omega," I taunt.

"Please just stop, Nene……." He hunched me.

"Stop what, exactly…..ehh," I questioned.

"Angel might be an omega, yes it is true that she is an orphan which is saddening but she is nice, respectful and always carries on with her activities without any issue or problem….. I still don't get why they were after her life?" He groaned in anger.

"That's it if she has all these qualities, who could be after her life…..?" With a raised eyebrow I heckle him.

"That I don't know….." He frustratedly mumbled.

"Who could be after a low life omega, what could they benefit from obviously nothing…. I mean nothing,": I spit.

" Only God knows what she did this time around, lucky her that she was still back to her miserable life….." I grumbled.

" Nene, stop….. Why are you sounding so mean,"

"The Angel that I know won't do something bad, she is a good girl," he professed.

"Oh! She is a good girl when I am the bad one right…." I glared at him.

"I never said that….." He affirms.

"You don't have to because your action has said it all….." Clapping my hands I uttered.

"Nene, please don't start, I am not in the mood," raising his hand he uttered.

"And how is that my business….tell me how did it concern me?" I disgustedly snapped at him.

"Why are you acting strange…." He uproar.

"What is it…..?" I angrily glared at him with my brow furrowed up.

"We should be happy that she is back to life and not dead…."

"Of course, we should be happy, and besides who told you that I am not happy….. Answer me," I mockingly snarled at him as my heart aches at each passing time, how could I not be able to perfect one fucking job!

"And you know what…… I uttered with anger and rage.

"What…..?" He repeats.

"Just get out of my room, we are done with the conversation," I blurted.

"What!!.....

" Are you serious right now?" He surprisingly muttered.

"Don't allow me to repeat myself, just go and stay with Angel. She is a good girl and then that was what gave you the right to come here and started accusing me……. Fine if she is a good girl why is she lying beside the river bank in blood…..

" Uhmm….. Tell me, Mr know it all, coward," I lashed out.

"Mind your language, Nene…" he seems annoyed.

"Just stand up and get out of my sight before I lose it," I madly groaned in anger.

"If you say so then I am leaving…."

"Yes, leave, idiot….." I roared. Gosh! I am so devastated, how is that possible? That girl still hasn't died, why do they always have to sabotage my plans!!....? I will destroy you Angel and that wench Mira, you guys can't ruin me never!!….. Is going to be a war over war all day, it is time to face this thing once and for all.
