Chapter 156 Favor For An Old Friend
Chapter 156 Favor For An Old Friend
"You really know how to comfort me." Suzanne Roland paused and asked, "Are you home yet?"
"I'm climbing the stairs now. Two more floors then I'm home."
"Ah, then let me know when you get home." Suzanne Roland said.
It's nice for Veronica Parker to move. She was relieved when it was Suzanne Roland who called her.
After climbing the remaining steps, she opened her door and went in. Once she was safely inside, she told Suzanne Roland, "I'm home."
"OK, go to bed early."
"Well, goodbye."
Suzanne Roland hung up the phone then turned and walked towards the Ferrari.
Toby Cage leaned against the car. He looked at her and waited for her to speak.
"It's all right. She got home safely." Suzanne Roland said.
Toby Cage closed his eyes slightly and said nothing.
"Really, if you're so worried about her, why don't you go see her in person? You could be the hero she needs. " Suzanne Roland said.
"It's not convenient for me."
Suzanne Roland knew what he meant.
Nick Cage was the only person not afraid of Toby Cage.
If he did show up, it was bound to make Nick Cage furious, which would make things far worse for Veronica Parker.
"Maybe Nick Cage and Veronica Parker were just having a family feud and not a disagreement between two lovers." Suzanne Roland said.
"Don't underestimate a man's desires." Toby Cage stood up straight. He turned and opened the car door and said, "Thank you."
"What are you thanking me for? It's just a favor for an old friend."
Toby Cage nodded slightly. He got into the driver's seat, turned the ignition on, and drove away.
He went straight home.
When he reached his destination, the car stopped but the man did not come down.
From inside the car, he looked up at the house and pulled out a cigarette, and lighted it. He rolled down the car window, put his arm up lazily, and began to smoke impatiently.
From a distance, the luxury villa was filled with darkness, and the quiet atmosphere seemed as if he was alone.
He needed such a quiet moment and did not want to be disturbed.
However, the people in the house seemed to have lost their patience and could not wait any longer. They came out and walked directly towards Ferrari.
It was as if Toby Cage did not see anyone else. His arms rested on the edge of the window, cigarette stick stuck between his slender fingers, and his index finger flicking cigarette ash.
"I hear you are no longer with the company." The newcomer was Toby Cage's father, Eden Cage. He had a stocky build and looked solemnly at Toby Cage as he sat in his car.
"How did you know?"
"Your secretary told me."
After Eden Cage said so, Toby Cage took his cell phone and called his secretary, "You don't have to come to work tomorrow!"
With that, he threw the phone on the front passenger's seat.
Eden Cage looked terrible. "What do you mean?"
Toby Cage raised his eyes faintly and looked at him. "Punish those who are unfaithful."
"Toby, you are getting more and more out of line now!"
Toby Cage simply ignored his words and continued to smoke.
"You used to have a relationship abroad. Now you are having an affair with the female stars in the entertainment circle when you returned home. What do you want to do?"
Toby Cage pushed the door and got out of the car. He threw the cigarette butt on the ground, crushed it with his black shoes hard, and then left directly.
Eden Cage was so angry by his son's indifference that he shouted at the figure, "Are you going to see Veronica Parker?"
Toby Cage did not turn back.
"I didn't expect her to be Chloe Bowen's daughter. It's a good thing you didn't want her in the first place. But I underestimated her means, and I'm still worried about you."
Toby Cage turned slowly and the dim light shone on his face. He looked gloomy.
"Or am I wrong? She thinks she has some beauty, so she thinks she can control any man. You are the one who does great things. How can you fall into the hands of such a woman? Toby, for your own sake, finds the right woman to marry and have children, and you will be the winner in life!"
Toby Cage looked at him with a straight face and said; "I was thinking that if you weren't my real father, I would kill you."
