Chapter 202 Complicated
Chapter 202 Complicated
Veronica's cell phone was still pressed to her ear, shocked by Nick's final decision.
So, did she win the bet?
She couldn't believe she won the bet on Nick Cage!
But Veronica is not happy. On the contrary, she felt a little uneasy.
Nick willingly changed his mind because of her? He didn't say anything when she got out of the car yesterday, but she remembered the dangerous atmosphere when she got off the bus and her wrist was tightly gripped by him.
"Don't worry about what I said the other day. In fact, if you don't help, I won't tell you about the six children. I was just scaring you. " Chloe changed her tune.
"I took it seriously," Veronica answered and hung up the phone without waiting for Chloe to speak.
She sat down on the edge of the bed, a little dazed. It felt like a dream. Such a dream was given by Nick, who put so much pressure on her.
She just hoped this thing would eventually be over.
John has been playing here with the kids. No one asked him to go home so he had lunch there with them.
The six little ones in front of the table only turned into seven small ones, all of which are equally lovely.
Veronica smiled helplessly while looking at their adorable little faces.
After their meal, the seven kids went back to play. Veronica sat on the foam board, leaning her back against the sofa. She was looking at them, slightly losing herself in a trance.
"No, John is an asshole!" Cathy shouted with her eyes closed and her fists clenched.
John didn't budge. "Cathy is a fool!"
"You are a fool! You are! " Cathy was out of breath.
Peter said, "It's not what you said!"
Julie bulged in, "No!"
Josh was so anxious that he burst into tears. "No, it's not!"
Lily shook his two pigtails and stood with Cathy, "John is such an idiot!"
With that, the five little boys were about to go up and fight with John. When six of them rolled into a ball, Daniel realized that they were fighting, so he came forward and didn't know whether he wanted to stop or join them. As soon as he got close, he didn't know who kicked him out. Daniel was kicked over and rolled to the corner of the wall like a ball.
"Daniel, be careful!" Veronica was a bit surprised. What's going on? If they aren't having a good time, then why are they fighting?
She hurriedly went to pull the six little ones apart.
Cathy ran up to Veronica and complained, "Mom, John said we should call him 'Uncle'!"
John also squeezed over, "Elder sister, won't they call me 'Uncle'?"
Cathy wrapped her arm around the panda, and her small fleshy finger pointed impolitely at John Cage. "No!"
Peter held the toy gun and said, "No!"
Julie clenched his fist, "No!"
Josh put his hands under his chin and said weakly, "No, we won't. "
Lily was ferocious, "We won't play with you anymore!"
Daniel just blinked twice.
Veronica then probably knew why these seven fought.
They were talkative and they won't stop until they would find a way to stop it.
But what should she say? The six youngsters don't know anything about the complex love affairs her mom had.
Needless to say, John has shown another aggrieved look.
Veronica pursed her lips and thought about it for nearly a minute under the expectant gaze of seven pairs of eyes, and then asked, "Is it time for a nap?"
The seven little ones looked at Veronica with a question mark on their faces but she just laughed at them.
Half an hour later, Veronica put Selena Benson to sleep.
The seven little girls only slept in rows on the foam board, covered with a few blankets brought by Veronica, all of them were small and round.
Veronica went to lean on the sofa again and sighed after she took care of the children.
When she encountered this kind of difficult and complicated situation, it is better to divert her attention instead.
A child will always remain a child. And as soon as she diverts her attention, she would probably forget it soon.
