Chapter 203 Dangerous Than The Night
Chapter 203 Dangerous Than The Night
Veronica Parker would greatly emphasize to tell John Cage that the title of him being called 'Uncle' shouldn't be mentioned.
There would be no one but Chloe Bowen who can say the title 'Uncle.'
John was asked by Veronica after dinner, "John, it's late. Aren't you heading home?"
As soon as John Cage heard that she wants him to head back, he refused because he was addicted to playing with Peter. So, he shook his little head in a rattle and said, "No!"
Veronica stared at him without responding.
Chloe hasn't called so far. So she doesn't really want John to leave here, is he?
Fortunately, at 7 AM, the driver knocked on the door to pick him up. He was still lingering but the driver couldn't help but take him away. John struggled with his short hands and feet in the driver's arms but it was no use. He was still taken away.
Veronica doesn't want John to come here frequently. She's worried that Peter would be exposed. But it seemed that she couldn't refuse John to come over.
Veronica thought Nick has a big head when he threw John out at the KING Group and made him cry with anger.
After bathing the six youngsters, she picked out a book in the room and told them a story until they fell asleep. She pulled the quilt on their bellies, took the phone, and looked at the time. It's still early. She wanted to play with her phone for a while before she went to bed. However, when the screen of the mobile phone flashes, there was a call.
The unsaved number made Veronica sat up and look flustered.
This must probably be Nick!
Why was he calling her at this kind of time? Didn't they just meet last night?
Veronica was very afraid of getting a call from Nick Cage at night. He was like the night, full of unknown dangers.
The cell phone was constantly vibrating in the palm of her hand. She looked at the sleeping children before she got out of bed and walked out of the room. She then answered the call in a low voice, "Mr. Cage."
"Why did it take you so long to answer the phone?"
"I fell asleep and was awakened by my vibrating cell phone." She took a slightly complaining tone.
"Come out," Nick ordered her, penetrating the phone and reverberating softly on her eardrum.
"Are you at the gate of the neighborhood? " Veronica was shocked. "Mr. Cage, I'm going to rest and I badly need it. I don't want to go out."
Upon hearing Nick's instructions, Veronica's heartbeat was so unstable that she became so nervous that her hands and feet went soft.
"Do you think I'll go home empty-handed? You have three minutes."
'Unbelievable!' Veronica thought as she stared at the phone screen.
He won't go home empty-handed, that's why he wanted to see her. What does she have that he wanted, in the first place?
Veronica's body was strained for a moment.
She was so upset that she didn't want to go.
But Nick was waiting outside the neighborhood, could she not go? No!
There are six children at home. Does she have to wait for Nick to come to the front door?
Veronica decided to see him and turned to go out. She bowed her head to give a quick glance at the nightdress she was wearing before finally walking out.
After a moment of hesitation, she went back to her room and changed her clothes with a white T-shirt and pants.
The black Rolls-Royce SUV was parked alongside the road, which looked more dangerous than the night.
Nick sat in the back seat with his long figure lazily postured, with his legs crossed.
For three minutes, Veronica, who ran over, stood by the car door and gasped for breath. She couldn't help it. It's only for three minutes. She has to change her clothes.
Nick turned to her face with dark eyes, staring sharply and deeply.
"What can I do for you, Mr. Cage?" Veronica asked. "Isabella is still here. She doesn't even know I'm out."
"Come in." Nick interrupted her impatiently. His low, hoarse voice giving irresistible orders. He didn't even hear her worry.
Veronica's breath sank slightly, climbed into the car, and sat down in his seat.
