Chapter 21 Don't Make Me Say It Again
Chapter 21 Don't Make Me Say It Again
Because of being stared at, Veronica Parker felt so defenseless that her heart almost stopped. She felt that if it went on like this, she was afraid that she would be swallowed up by the momentum of Nick Cage!
"Mr. Cage, if you touch me, are you ready to marry me?" Veronica asked openly, looking at him with nervous tension and an expectant look on her face.
Nick looked at her with dark eyes. "What do you mean?"
"Only if you marry me will I let you touch me? Is that all right?" Veronica asked again, showing firmness against his passion.
Nick pressed his hand under her chin. Veronica felt uncomfortable and frowned slightly.
"Is that the reason for you coming near me?"
"Then, there must be no one who wouldn't like to take the role of Mrs. Cage, right? Everyone knows that if I marry you, won't the sparrow become a Phoenix?" Veronica said in a special material way.
This woman, who often dangled in front of him, had really intended to refuse to accept him because she unexpectedly still wanted to take the place of being Mrs. Cage.
The restlessness in Nick's body was suppressed by him, and his black eyes turned cold. "Get out."
Veronica was surprised, "Don't you want me? As a matter of fact, three years ago, I wasn't so bad, was I? "
"Don't make me say it again," Nick said sympathetically.
Veronica bowed her head and pulled the door. "But the door doesn't work." Before she finished talking, the door opened, which was so embarrassing.
She turned around and went out, then closed the door for Nick.
As soon as the door closed, her aching heart was interrupted and she felt a lingering fear.
Luckily, she acted well and deliberately let him know that she was an ambitious woman, otherwise, would she have been able to get out of his office? It would be strange not to be eaten alive by Nick.
Although it was three years later, Veronica still vaguely remembered the ferocity of Nick that night.
But she could get away with it this time. What about next time?
She really wanted to be out of this job!
Nick sat in a large black seat, his arms resting on the armrest. The aura was cold and oppressive, and he really didn't see that she was so serious.
She was no different from the other woman who flocked around him.
Veronica went back to the secretarial department and sat down. The seat creaked. She sighed and said to herself, "Mr. Cage is really strange. He ignored me as soon as he heard he had to marry me. What is he if he's not a scumbag?"
The other people were confused.
"When I was transferred to the secretarial department, I thought that how much he liked me was simply casual!"
The other people were stunned.
"Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned getting married. Even if he doesn't marry me, I can improve my career. There's a good position I can take with Kay Tours. I like it!"
The other people didn't have anything to say.
The last thing in the world to worry about was the wind of gossip, where it took root and where it could sprout.
Veronica's words were easily blown away in the direction of that wind.
And what she wanted most was that the words could be blown into Nick Cage's ears, so that he could fire her when he gets angry.
Levi had worked out a good puzzle.
The people in the KING group were stunned. How sweet the melon was! Also, how sour it was!
In the private group of the company--
"What did I say? There's really something suspicious with Veronica Parker going to the secretarial department. Am I not right?"
"I really can't believe it. Mr. Cage doesn't usually go after the female employees of the company. Does that mean we have hope, too? I don't think we are any worse than Veronica Parker."
"Truth be told, Veronica Parker is younger than us and has a very pure face. That's what men like."
