Chapter 339 Secret Treasures
Chapter 339 Secret Treasures
"I prefer to go straight in," Nick Cage said.
She wanted to wait for Nick Cage's hand to stop touching her skin. But it was not until the atmosphere in the air was filled with tension that she began to panic.
Without much thought, she took a step back from the touch of his hand.
"It's all right. All of those happened a long time ago. Thank you for your concern," Veronica Parker's words felt like she was distancing herself from Nick Cage.
Nick Cage's dark eyes stared at her for a moment.
With some tears in her eyes, Veronica Parker walked past him as she ready herself to leave the bathroom.
Nick cage grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer to him. In a flash, her back was pressed against the wall.
She was overshadowed by Nick Cage's body.
He lifted her chin and said softly, "What are you nervous about? Am I not allowed to touch you?"
"It's better for you to stay away from me," Veronica Parker said as she looked at him stubbornly.
"But I want to be close to you."
Veronica Parker was stunned when Nick Cage covered the distance between them in an instant. Their bodies pressed against each other in the cramped space. He moved his lips closer to her and Veronica Parker could hardly breathe.
Her eyes were filled with anger, and she was being roughly kissed by Nick Cage. They were so close that she could even hear Nick Cage's gasps for air.
Veronica Parker's limbs weaken and she almost lay flat on the bathroom floor.
Just in time, Nick Cage put his arms around her and if he was a second too late, she would have slipped to the ground already.
Veronica Parker felt dizzy and slowly she went outside as she gasped for air. She stared at him and hopes he noticed that she didn't have much strength.
"It's best not to get close to me. I might infect you," Veronica Parker said.
"I'm afraid it's not enough reason."
Veronica Parker frowned slightly, "Nick, you're going too far!"
"Am I asking for too much?"
Veronica Parker gritted her teeth and she stopped talking to him. She continued to pass by him and she entered her bedroom.
If only she was not afraid of infecting the six little ones then she wouldn't want to stay in her room alone with that arrogant and dangerous man.
She turned around and stared at Nick Cage who followed her, "Aren't you going to be with the kids? I'm not feeling well and I can't go. "
It would her best decision to get rid of that dangerous man's presence first.
She watched as Nick Cage approached her. He was just walking at a normal pace but it made people nervous whenever they would feel his presence.
He wrapped one hand on her wrist and she felt something cold touching her skin. Nick Cage placed a familiar bracelet on her wrist.
Veronica Parker looked at her wrist and then her face became immediately worried, "What are you doing?"
"Don't worry, there is no locator here."
Veronica Parker looked at him suspiciously.
"Don't take it off. Go to bed early," Nick Cage said as his dark eyes cast a deep glance at her before he turned and walked away.
As she heard the sound of the door closing, the room stayed quiet for a while before Veronica Parker regained her senses.
She immediately took off the bracelet and turned around to look for something sharp to look if there was something inside.
But she didn't see anything unusual.
If there was no locator inside then why was Nick Cage forcing her to wear that bracelet? There was something that felt unusual.
But even without a locator, she felt burdened whenever she looked at the bracelet that's why she didn't want to wear it.
However, if she didn't wear it, it would make Nick Cage feel infuriated.
That man was so uncertain, who knows what he will do next.
Veronica Parker sat on the edge of the bed and put the bracelet on her wrist again.
In fact, she would rather wear the one given by Toby Cage but she knows very well that she can't wear it.
She can't let Toby Cage know about that, let alone Nick Cage.
She can only treasure it secretly.
She packed her things together with the bracelet. Back then, when she was ready to run away she didn't expect that Nick Cage would show up, then she was forced to stay live with him before she got sick and stayed in the hospital. After she was discharged, she was brought directly to Winter Villa instead of her place.
She didn't get a chance to go back.
All her stuff was still at her place.
Veronica Parker woke up in the morning and for some reason, she felt much better.
She got dressed after she washed, and she left the room.
