Chapter 367 Family Dinner
Chapter 367 Family Dinner
As soon as Veronica managed to get inside her home, she noticed that Peter was in a bad mood and his face was bulging.
"What happened to Peter?" Veronica asked the other children.
"Mom, I know! Peter spilled milk on daddy today! daddy was so angry that he even fought Peter." Cathy told her mom, with a worried look on her face.
Veronica took a glance at Nick and she didn't see any milk stains at all. She thought that Nick must have changed his clothes.
"It was Daddy who yelled at me, it wasn't my fault!" Peter pouted as he looked up at Veronica.
Nick glared at him and crossed his arms. "Are you being reasonable right now, Peter?"
"But it's really not my fault, the milk just spilled all over daddy!" Peter retorted angrily
Veronica was afraid that Nick would do something bad to Peter, but she shrugged the thought out of her head. "Who drank the milk, Peter?"
"I drank it."
"And how exactly did that end up on daddy?" Veronica said curiously.
"I don't know, but daddy told me that I spilled the milk on him." Peter said as he pouted.
Veronica then understood what was going on and nodded her head. "It was an accident, Peter. It doesn't matter anymore. Just pay attention next time, alright?"
"I'll be careful next time." Peter awkwardly said as he blushed.
Veronica smiled while patting Peter's head as if he was a little puppy. "That's a good boy."
Nick's eyes fell on Veronica Parker and watched her interaction with the six children as if she had special magic.
Veronica looked up at Nick, only to be caught by his gaze. He almost seemed emotionless, which made her almost lose her train of thought. "Nick, have they..." She gulped, trying to remain her composure. "Have the children eaten yet?"
Nick averted his gaze from Veronica and stood up. "No."
"What do you want to eat?" Veronica asked.
As soon as Veronica asked what Nick wanted to eat, there was a knock on the door.
When she opened the door, she couldn't believe her eyes. Waiters in overalls went in, each holding different kinds of dishes.
Luckily, Isabella had a large table. Otherwise, Veronica wouldn't be able to accommodate the ten-course dinner.
After the dishes were placed on the table, the waiters bowed down slightly. "Please enjoy your meal!"
They turned around and left after that and closed the door.
Veronica was speechless.
The waiters were from a restaurant and they also delivered the dishes to her home directly. She couldn't believe that Nick would do such a thing despite how cold he was toward her.
"Thank you for the meal!" The children cheered happily.
There were currently eight people at the table and Veronica thought that the space was not as big as the winter villa so it looked a little crowded.
However, judging by the atmosphere that she felt, space wasn't a big problem at all because it didn't affect the mood of the children. She was relieved that the children could eat as much food as they wanted even if the space was limited.
The six children only ate happily, worrying about nothing but the delicious food.
Veronica simply looked at them and laughed. "They look so cute." She murmured to herself.
"Mommy, you used to buy us this kind of food!" Cathy said as pointed to the beef.
"it's so delicious!" Julie said, delighted.
Daniel and Josh simply nodded and smiled at Veronica while Peter tried to put as much food as he could on his plate.
Veronica was a little embarrassed when she reminisced the time, she and Nick had dinner since he had bought all the food as well. She thought that it was like she experienced a certain kind of déjà vu.
As Veronica felt Nick looking at her, she tried her best to avoid his gaze. However, what Nick said almost made her jaw drop.
"They can sleep here tonight." Nick told her.
Veronica looked at Nick in surprise. "A-are you sure about this?"
