Chapter 442 I'll Give You A Week
Chapter 442 I'll Give You A Week
Nick's thick fingers pinched the joints of her big toe. Veronica frowned and bit her lips at the jolt of pain.
"It's not broken." Nick loosened his hold on her foot, got up, and left the room.
Veronica withdrew her feet and sat on the bed. The skin that had been grasped by Nick was slightly hot.
After she saw the spray bottle, her state of mind changed completely.
She didn't want to accept any seemingly well-intentioned gesture from Nick.
The true nature of Nick would not change. He was still dangerous and the bottle of spray on his body was like a ticking time bomb, it would tear her apart at any time.
Nick came back again with a small ointment on his hand. He sat on the edge of the bed beside her, lifted her feet to his lap, ready to apply ointment on her red and swollen toe.
Veronica immediately pulled her foot back. "I'll do it myself!" She exclaimed and snatched the ointment from Nick's hand.
She didn't look at Nick's face as she lowered her head. Veronica squeezed the ointment out and applied it on her toes. The cooling effect immediately relieved the pain of her red and swollen toe.
Veronica looked focused, but in truth, every pore on body was perceiving the change of the air.
She did not need to look up, she could already feel his sharp gaze on her.
She didn't know if it's about the spray bottle, but the panic she once had overflowed again in front of Nick.
Or maybe there had been panic all this time, but recently, she confused by Nick's "goodwill".
Nevertheless, at the moment, she did not want to have further contact with him!
"What did you want to tell me?" Nick broke the silence.
"I just want to tell you that after I finished work at the TV station tomorrow, I will live in Isabella's apartment for the meantime." Veronica was gently applying ointment when her chin lifted, forcing her to face Nick.
"Why?" His voice low and there was a frightening change on his aura.
"Can't you give me some time for myself?"
"How long?"
Veronica swallowed. "I don't know."
When she let out those words, the oppression in the air got worse with unknown danger.
Veronica was nervous herself.
But she didn't promise Nick that she would live in Winter Villa, did she?
While she was waiting in fear for his burst of anger, Nick took the ointment from her hand. Her the foot was pulled over and was pressed on his thigh. Nick smeared the ointment and rubbed it at the toe joint.
Veronica gasped and her feet tried to break free.
However Nick's palm buckled her feet so strong that she could not escape at all!
"Mr. Cage, are you getting back at me?" Veronica asked as she was experiencing shortness of breath.
"If I wanted revenge, your toe will be broken."
Veronica bit her lip and endured it. But he didn't have knead it for the ointment to be effective, did he? She stared at the sharp side of Nick's face and noticed how his expression remained tight and cold.
Nick let go of her foot after a while and glanced at Veronica. "I'll give you a week."
With that, he left the room.
Veronica sat there, speechless. Did he mean that after a week, whether she like it or not, she would eventually be forced by Nick to live in Winter Villa?
She sighed. She didn't really want to have this in her mind right now as she wanted to investigate Tom on her own first.
Veronica glanced at the cell phone next to her. In a moment, she picked up the phone and dialed Tom's number.
Her call was answered after two rings. "Is that you, Veronica?"
"It's me."
"I didn't expect that you would call me. I was really surprised." There was an uncontrollable joy in his voice.
"What did Isabella say when he met you the other day?" Veronica choked out. "She called me on the day of the accident. I didn't get to answer any of the three calls. I felt very guilty. If she said something to you, maybe I can guess what she wanted to say to me. "
