Chapter 495 Into The Darkness
Chapter 495 Into The Darkness
Tom Parker moved towards the room.
Tom Parker stood in the doorway for a moment to fix his self then he pushed the door open.
When he went inside, he saw the man on the sofa. The man looked angry and intimidating, and he was even more frightened.
Tom Parker couldn't stand up straight, "Hello, Mister Cage, Witt said you wanted to see me. I don't know why but what can I do for you?"
"Sit down" Nick Cage stared at the glass in his hand, he had shaken it slightly and the amber liquid swayed beautifully inside the glass.
"Okay," Tom Parker sat down on the opposite sofa.
He noticed that the bottle on Nick Cage's table was really not from the bar so Veronica Parker didn't lie to him.
Tom Parker was distracted for a moment and he only came back to his senses when he received the sharp look from the man sitting opposite to him. He felt nervous and he immediately focused his attention.
"Is she living in your house just fine?" Nick Cage asked in a somewhat accusing tone.
Tom Parker immediately knew who Nick Cage was referring to. He knew he would ask him that question.
"Veronica was comfortable there. She was well treated in my place and of course, we only gave her the best things and the most delicious meals," Tom Parker said as he clasped his hands together.
Veronica Parker was not treated with the best things and his phrase the most delicious meals was only an exaggeration. The woman just ate whatever was served on the dining table and it was far from being the best.
"That better be the case," Nick Cage said as he rubbed the rim of the glass with his fingers. "If I heard that she had suffered even just if it just a little inconvenience then a big gift will be sent to you every day. I hope you know what I mean."
Tom Parker's insides panicked, "Mister Cage, I assure you that will never happen!"
Tom Parker came out of the room with cold bids of sweat on his forehead and his legs were slightly trembling.
Nick Cage's aura was so dark that it made Tom Parker felt so scared. His face turned pale as he exited the room.
Back in that room, he was afraid to the point that his mouth would not let words out of it. He gulped as he remembered the day he received one of those big gifts that Nick Cage had mentioned.
Clare Parker walked towards the entrance of the room where Nick Cage was and she met Tom Parker by the entrance. It looks like she came to see Tom Parker on purpose.
"What did Nick Cage say?" Clare Parker asked.
"He didn't say anything, he just asked about Veronica. He only wanted to know if she was comfortable staying at my place," Tom Parker said. He looked at Clare Parker's cold expression and asked, "You're not looking for Nick Cage, are you? You will only create trouble!"
Clare Parker looked like she was offended and said, "Did I say that I will go to him?"
With that, Tom Parker turned in the opposite direction.
Clare Parker knew very well that she would only humiliate herself if she would go near that man at that time.
She needed to find another way to get close to Nick Cage.
When Veronica Parker returned to the villa, she went to bed early.
She had set the alarm before going to bed.
At two o'clock in the morning, the alarm rang and, Veronica Parker woke up to turn off the alarm.
She sat on her bed to clear her head for a moment before she got out of bed.
She carried a bag, opened the door, and went out of her room. She walked silently in the hallway and she didn't dare to make a sound.
Two o'clock in the morning was the time when everyone in the villa was already in deep sleep. There would be no servants lurking by. The whole house was as quiet as the mountains and forests that she could only hear her own breathing.
She did not turn on the light and just let her eyes adapt to the dark. She only took advantage of the moonlight lightening up the villa.
Veronica Parker went to the garage.
She saw that Tom Parker's car was not yet back.
When Veronica Parker was sure, she turned the knob on the door leading to Tom Parker's study and she took out the small camera from her bag.
Veronica Parker crept out of the study for about ten minutes before she returned to her room.
She took out her phone and she turned on the software to do some adjustment.
The location of the surveillance camera was directly opposite to Tom Parker's desk.
She could clearly see his every move in the office. As soon as Tom Parker enters the password on his computer, she could get a hold of his files even those files about the company.
Veronica Parker wanted to find Isabella's video as soon as possible and so she could destroy it.
