Chapter 496 Spilling The Tea
Chapter 496 Spilling The Tea
Veronica Parker opened her eyes as the sun rose. Instead of getting up immediately, she stayed in her room for some time. That day was Saturday and her children were in Winter Villa. She wondered if they would make trouble that day if they wouldn't see their mom.
It would be nice if they were there with her, the six little ones would surely be very happy.
Everyone was at the breakfast table except Elton Parker.
"Why do you look like you haven't got any sleep, Veronica?" Tom Parker asked. "Haven't you got some rest last night?"
"I worked overtime."
"You are really hard-working," Tom Parker said. "It's all right, everything will be ready later. Your room will better when you come back."
"What are you talking about?" Veronica Parker asked.
"I don't think the things in your room are good enough. I'm going to change it for you. Even if it's a trash can, you have to use a famous brand."
Veronica Parker felt confused by his words, she thought to herself, 'What was Tom planning? Why did he need to change the things in her room for something better?'
She turned to look at Sarah North's face to see if she knew whatever was going on Tom Parker's mind but she was emotionless.
On the other side of the table, Clare Parker's expression remained unchanged too, she's just like a wooden beauty. It only shows how she became better at hiding things.
"Elton has gone back to Z city. Someone has to keep an eye on the head office. Please let me and Clare handle it. You can go there and see your son when you have time, " Tom Parker said to Sarah North.
"He's all grown up, why do I need to go there and see him?" Sarah North said with a suspicious tone in her voice. "You're not trying to get rid of me, are you?"
"Can you hear yourself? Is it a sin to care about your son?" Tom Parker said as he felt embarrassed by her.
But as he saw how offended Sarah North was by his words, he tried to coax her again
However, Sarah North ignored him. He would never understand the distress she felt.
Veronica Parker did not usually go to the TV station early so after breakfast she sat on the sofa in the living room to get some more rest.
Tom Parker and Clare Parker were always the first people to get out of the house to go to work in their company. After all, they had just started their business. Clare Parker went out first as Tom Parker went to get something from his study.
Veronica Parker pulled out her phone and she opened the software.
She watched as Tom Parker entered his study and as he took his files from his desk. She was ecstatic, she could clearly see the things written on his papers as long as she zoomed in to the letters.
Sarah North sat down on the sofa opposite Veronica Parker and told the servants to get some tea.
The servant poured the tea inside Sarah North's cup but not even a glass of water was served for Veronica Parker.
"To tell you the truth, your grandmother is very good at business."
Veronica Parker raised her eyebrows lazily and looked at Sarah North.
"She spent 3 million dollars for the capital and managed to make a profit of 1.5 million dollars. She's great don't you think?" Sarah North looked sternly at Veronica Parker with sarcasm in his eyes.
Veronica Parker looked at her blankly for three seconds without a hint of anger or dismay. Instead, she asked, "Why do you have tea and I don't?"
Sarah North was stunned by her sudden change of topic.
"It seems that what happened last time didn't give you any lesson," Veronica Parker's faint tone was full of displeasure.
"It's just a cup of tea. Why are you easily offended?" Sarah North said.
"I'm sorry. I don't know what patience is by nature."
Sarah North saw how Veronica Parker became easily aggressive just because of a cup of tea. She didn't want to cause any trouble so for the sake of the overall situation, she shouted at the servant next to her and said, "Are you deaf? Go and get her some tea! "
"Yes Madam," As soon as the servant responded to Sarah North's order, she was interrupted by Veronica Parker.
"Why do you need to bother the servant?" Veronica Parker looked at her relentlessly, "Go and pour it for me yourself. By the way, I don't like tea, you should pour me a glass of juice."
"What did you say?" Sarah North couldn't believe her. She thought she was only hallucinating.
"Do you want to do it or not?"
"Veronica Parker, don't be arrogant here!" Sarah North gritted her teeth.
"It's just a cup of tea, why are you so angry?" Veronica Parker smiled but her smile did not reach the corner of her eyes. "If you don't pour this glass of juice today something awful will happen."
Tom Parker, who heard their voices came out of the study and asked, "What's the matter?"
