Chapter 499 Watching From Afar
Chapter 499 Watching From Afar
When Veronica Parker came back, she would look at the files on Tom Parker's computer. If she deleted the video, she wouldn't be threatened by Tom Parker anymore.
The premiere started and Veronica Parker knew that the ratings will not be bad at all. This was her first time hosting the program. She knew that the results of her first show would be good but still, it is impossible for her not to feel nervous.
"Oh, my God! The ratings are so good, aren't they? It's even better than the first phase!" Lucy Underwood jumped on her feet excitedly as she shouted beside Veronica Parker.
"Keep your calm, Lucy," Veronica Parker said as they were surrounded by onlookers.
"I'll try!" Lucy Underwood clenched her fist and zipped her mouth.
Veronica Parker's eyes fell on the screen and she smiled as she saw how the numbers went higher. She had been standing there for more than half an hour. The more she watched the monitor the more excited she felt.
The director of the stage smiled from ear to ear with delight.
The ratings showed that the second season was also a success, even more, successful than the first season.
Veronica Parker watched her body movements and expressions on the screen. She exudes calmness and professionalism. She was the only one who knew how nervous she was at the beginning of the recording and it wasn't until later that she got used to it.
It was almost 08:00 at night and the six little ones were still playing at the playground in Winter Villa.
Bob clapped his hands and said, "It's late already. Shall we go back to your room and rest? Even if you all will not go to school tomorrow, you still need to rest."
The six little ones pretended that they didn't hear Bob
Peter ran around the ground area and his head turned from left to right but he didn't find the person he was looking for.
Bob asked, "What's the matter? Who are you looking for? "
"Daddy!" Peter said. He then asked, "Why doesn't Daddy play with us anymore? I want to play with Daddy! "
With that, he turned around and ran around the playground.
The other five threw away their paintbrushes and toys then they ran after Peter.
Bob had a kind look on his face. He turned his head to the mansion behind him, he was afraid that Nick Cage would be angry if they stayed longer at the playground. But he didn't have the heart to stop the children from having fun.
After some time he finally convinced the children to go back inside the house.
His eyes grew wide as he saw the six little ones ran towards Nick Cage's study.
"Daddy!"
The moment of peace inside the study was suddenly interrupted as the children entered the room. Nick Cage furrowed his eyebrows.
Peter who looked giddy climbed up Nick Cage's thigh and he sat on his lap.
As soon he climbed up, he saw the program on the computer in front of him and his big eyes suddenly lit up, "Mom!"
The five little ones around them also saw the screen.
"Mom is on the screen!"
"That's Mom!"
"I want Mom!"
"I miss Mom!"
"I see Mom!" Daniel's little face was excited.
Nick Cage snapped the computer shut.
"Daddy! Why don't you let us see Mom? Daddy, you're a bad guy! I don't like you anymore!" Peter cried.
Nick Cage looked at him and said, "Shut up!"
The six little ones howled together and the whole study was filled with the cries of children.
Their cries made Nick Cage's head hurt which made him irritated.
He decided to turn on the computer and he pressed the play button.
The study suddenly became quiet, the only sound they heard was the gentle and sweet voice of Veronica Parker in the video program. Six bright eyes stared at the monitor and nobody even dared to blink.
"Mom!" Daniel snapped his fingers excitedly.
"Mom," Josh was tearful.
Peter is sitting on Nick Cage's lap and the other five kids also wanted to look closer at their mom so they all climb on Nick Cage's lap.
While they all climbed, some of them started to roll down.
Nick Cage step aside for a bit and he moved the laptop to one of the coffee tables where there was a nearby sofa. He carried each one of them so they could sit comfortably with him. His long arms gathered them in a side hug and the six little ones stared at their mom.
Their little eyes were tearful as they watched their mom in awe.
