Chapter 500 Nowhere To Go
Chapter 500 Nowhere To Go
As soon as the show was over, Nick cage turned off the screen but the six little ones were not ready to leave yet.
"Why is Mom on TV?" Cathy said and she looked like she was going to cry.
"Mom, come out," Lily pleaded as she looked at the black screen.
"I badly want to see Mom," Julie said. Meanwhile, Josh was looking more anxious.
"Mom," Daniel said sadly.
"Don't cry. Come on, it's rest time," Nick Cage said in an irritated manner.
Peter suddenly shouted, "I just want mom! Take us to her! Or make her come here!" he reached out and poked the screen with his little finger.
Nick Cage caught him and he put Peter away from the laptop, "Let's go to your room. You all need to rest."
"I don't want to rest!" Peter shouted.
"I don't want to rest either!" Julie added.
"Daddy, we don't want to go back yet!" Cathy exclaimed.
"We want Mom Daddy!" Lily said with teary eyes.
"Mom," Josh said weakly.
"We want Mom" Daniel looked at Nick Cage with expectant eyes.
The six little ones stood in front of Nick Cage's long legs and they leaned their cute faces trying to lure Nick Cage with their pleading eyes.
They just missed their mom anyway.
They've been screaming for their mom for a long time and Nick Cage was beginning to feel irritated. What did he need to do to pacify their cries for the night?
"Rest first and we'll see," Nick Cage took the six of them with one hand and he forced them to leave the study.
No matter how the six little ones struggled, their efforts were all put in vain. After all, their father was too strong.
They were brought back to their room by their Daddy and he ordered them to rest.
On one hand, the ratings of the program were so high that the director called for a celebration. He told his crew to go to a bar before midnight.
When they reached the entrance of the bar, Veronica Parker noticed that it was not the expensive bar that she was expecting, it was somewhere else.
Veronica Parker thought that she would be able to get in.
"Sorry, you can't come in," everyone in front went in but Veronica Parker was stopped by the man.
Veronica Parker was speechless.
The director wondered and he asked, "Why won't you let her get in?"
A colleague from the entertainment department who was nearby said, "I don't know what happened but last time Miss Parker was also stopped outside a bar. We tried to find other bars but the guards also refused to let her in so we went to a restaurant instead to eat dinner."
The director looked at Veronica Parker, "Why is there such a situation?"
"Director, why don't you go ahead with them? Besides, I'm not planning to go, I think I should go back early," Veronica Parker knew by now that she would not be allowed to enter any bar.
Obviously, she hadn't come out of the blacklist yet.
"How can this work? You're the host of the program and you are the life of parties. How boring will it be if you don't go?"The director pulled Veronica Parker aside and asked, "Is there another place we can go?"
Veronica Parker took out her phone. She didn't want to make them wait.
"Can I make a phone call?" Veronica Parker asked.
"All right, go ahead," the director walked aside.
Veronica Parker didn't want to disappoint the team. The director even reserved a private room for them to celebrate.
But would Nick Cage answer her call? She could only try.
She dialed Nick Cage's number and she waited expectantly.
Much to her dismay, the call was connected several times but the person on the other side of the line was not speaking.
She was surprised at the slow breathing on the other line, Veronica Parker hurriedly said, "Our team is going to a bar to celebrate, but I was stopped outside. Can you tell them to let me in? I don't want to spoil their fun. It's rare for me to come out to play anyway, isn't it? "
"Nick?"
"Can you hear me?" Veronica Parker wondered why she couldn't hear anything from the other line so she talked louder this time, "Hello? Nick, are you there?"
Veronica Parker held her phone in front of her eyes and looked at the screen. It appeared that Nick Cage hung up his phone which made her so angry that she bit her lip hard.
She could taste the salty blood in her mouth as she thought of Nick Cage, 'Why did he hang up the phone? Did I say something that had offended him? How could he?'
"Is everything all right, Veronica?" The director asked.
"Sorry Director, I can't go," Veronica Parker said with tearful eyes.
