Chapter 576 Tricky Question

"Don't you dare!" Veronica Parker warned as she stepped back, trying to put more distance between them as much as possible. She didn't know whether the blood was really true or not, but she was sure that Nick Cage will do everything within his power to win this argument over! "But how did you get so much blood from your hands? What did you do?"

"I took care of some heavy things."

How heavy could he have lifted to have shed so much blood? But who would bleed just from lifting something heavy? Veronica Parker was skeptical, but there was no evidence to disprove her doubts, and the picture he sent seemed to be real blood. There was no way she could know the distinction of real blood over a simple picture.

Veronica Parker looked upstairs and said, "Oh, since you seem to be perfectly fine, I'll go and check on the six little ones." With that, she turned and went for the stairs.

Nick Cage's eyes followed her walking figure pass by and it was enough to set him in a good mood.

On the king-sized bed in the room, the six little ones were already asleep, and their round bellies were covered with a towel blanket.

As soon as Veronica Parker saw the six lovely little ones, the woman's heart beat erratically, and she stifled a cry, making her breathless and lightheaded. Nevertheless, what she felt didn't stop the gold stars from twinkling in her eyes.

Then there was a knock at the door.

The door swung open and revealed Bob's waiting figure outside. "Miss Parker, Mr. Cage wished for you to join him for dinner." He curtly said.

"He hasn't eaten yet?" Veronica Parker was surprised.

"Mr. Cage was busy and hasn't had the time to eat yet." Bob smiled.

Veronica Parker thought, what a coincidence, she came by in a rush even when she was in the middle of taking a bite on her fried chicken!

"All right, I'll be right behind you."

"Yes, miss." Bob turned and left.

Veronica Parker didn't fret so much over a small coincidence.

After all, it's not like Nick Cage would go so far as to having a spare time just to monitor her, right? But questions kept bugging her. How did he know if she already ate or not? Did it somehow have anything to do with the monitor she saw a while ago?

Veronica Parker just shrugged off that thought and instead focused on the six little ones that were sleeping peacefully, and she couldn't help but notice how they looked so cute. Oh, how she loved every bit of them unconditionally!

'Ah, if I dare to stall here any longer, someone downstairs who hasn't eaten yet might get really impatient not to mention the extent of how he hates waiting!'

When she entered the dining area, the table was neatly laid out with luscious dishes.

Nick Cage was already frantically waiting at their table with the cutleries still untouched. His one hand was placed on the table with his forefinger agitatedly tapping the tabletop, as if every tap was a tick off of a time bomb.

Veronica Parker hurriedly sat down, and the delicious foods made her already famished stomach even more hungry!

She raised her gaze and found their way into the mysterious eyes of Nick Cage.

What was this tension Veronica Parker's feeling in her heart? 'Does he no longer want to eat with me anymore? Why is he staring at me like that?' In her defense, whenever she came home so late, that would mean she wouldn't need to argue with the children.

It was true that Nick Cage was easily upset, but it was also obvious that he was holding up all his rage within him just so he wouldn't ruin the mood.

"Don't you want to eat? If so, then I'll eat." Instead of being polite to him, Veronica Parker picked up her chopsticks and began to feast on the dishes.

Nick Cage looked back and began to eat too.

Standing at the door of the dining area was Bob who was looking at them, and he saw Mr. Cage stuffing his mouth twice at a time as if he was in a hurry!

"Why don't you stop thinking about it?" Nick Cage said. "Let's just say she already ate. So, what? I just want Miss Parker to eat good food, a proper meal at the least. Is it asking for too much?"

Anyway, Bob told him he couldn't figure him out.

"Are you going back tonight?" Nick Cage suddenly attempted a conversation.

Veronica Parker, who was chewing delicious and juicy beef in her mouth, was taken back by his sudden interrogation, narrowed her eyes at the quiet Nick Cage, and thought, 'How would I know if this is a trick question or not?'

"Well, yes." Veronica Parker nodded. "I don't see any reason to stay at your place for the night."

"If you go back, I'll break your leg!" Nick Cage had a sharp look in his eyes.

Veronica Parker was exasperated at his sudden outburst. "Can you get any crueler?" She swallowed the last mouthful of beef and tapped her taut belly, not minding his remark anymore. "I'll go for a walk. Ah, I ate too much! Don't worry and take your time."

With that, she turned around and went out.

Veronica Parker went around to the plane and saw that the snow-white fuselage was already painted with a lot of masterpieces by the six little ones. One can notice the children's innocence and how they really had fun just by looking at their very own arts.

Almost all can instantly figure out the adorable looks of the six little ones while playing happily here.

Her cell phone suddenly rang.

Who could it be, calling her at such an hour? She didn't think it's Tom Parker. If she couldn't go back, Tom Parker would ask the driver.

She took out her cell phone and saw that the incoming call was from an unknown number.
