Chapter 58 Save Me

Veronica's fingers on the ground convulsed uncontrollably, and her face turned a little pale. She forced herself to steady her voice. "Sorry, I didn't mean to lie to you. I didn't know my mother was here until I came to the capital, and she married into the Cage family. I know you severed your relationship with the Cage family, so I offered to resign because you wouldn't let me go."

Nick Cage stared at her and his black eyes dilated. "Do you want me to take it off for you?"

Veronica hurriedly tried to explain. "My mother is not what you think she is. The gossip is false, it's just a misunderstanding!"

Nick, full of hostility, threw away his cigarette and got up.

Frightened, Veronica Parker stood up as she turned around and ran to the door.

"Ah!" How could Veronica be faster than Nick? He was endowed with long legs and even if she had an advantage at first, she wouldn't win against him. She was caught by Nick and was slammed against the door.

"Oh!" Veronica Parker's back hurt. Her body trembled, and she frowned and endured the ache. "Don't do this, Nick."

"If you want to die, I'll do it for you." Nick Cage said coldly.

Veronica Parker trembled and pushed him hard, but Nick was so strong that he did not move an inch.

'She's not innocent, too. Isn't she?' Livid with his thoughts, Nick remained silent as he angrily looked at her.

"Why should you blame me? What did I do wrong? My parents divorced when I was young. No one wanted me. My grandmother is the one who raised me. I didn't meet Chloe until more than ten years later. I didn't get anything from her. Do I have to bear this kind of guilt and humiliation? For what reason?" Veronica asked angrily.

"Not anything from her? That bitch didn't buy your clothes? She gave you a bank card. What, you still have the audacity in pretending to be innocent in front of me? Is it because you can't be satisfied and crave more money? Huh?" Nick grabbed her by the chin. "You like to be in the Cage family so much, so why don't you listen to me?"

Veronica's brow frowned painfully, and the tears swirled and swelled up around the corners of her eyes. He continued to harass her as if Nick would break the bones of her jaw with a little more effort.

"You bastard. Go away!" Veronica Parker pushed Nick Cage's chest with one hand but couldn't make him budge away. Her other hand grabbed Nick Cage's arm and tried to let him let go of her jaw, but it was in vain. Instead, she was all the more frightened by the strength of his arms.

Nick Cage looked at her viciously, raised his hand, and tore the collar off her shoulder.

"Ah!" She screamed in horror.

It was a shoulder-like collar and the moment he pulled and tore it off, her chest was almost exposed. The milky complexion she had and ample breast was exposed.

"Go! Go away!" Veronica's hand immediately clasped her chest and trembled. "Why are you doing this to me? What's wrong with you, Nick? There's something wrong with your mind! Do you think everyone wants your fucking money?" Veronica Parker rebelled angrily.

"I want you to die!" Nick suddenly let go of her jaw, swung his fist, and threw it directly at Veronica's pale face.

"Ah!" Veronica Parker shouted in horror and hugged her head as if she tried to defend her life.

With a bang, his fist grazed Veronica in the ear. The shock almost penetrated her eardrum that made her heart seem to stop at that moment. Fear engulfed every cell in her body.

She opened her eyes with a shudder. Suddenly, she experienced a little shortness of breath. Veronica's chest felt stuffy and her face was pale without a trace of blood.

"Tell me again!" The gloomy and ferocious voice of Nick Cage boomed right in her ear.

Veronica couldn't speak. She found it hard to breathe. Nick was worried for a moment when he realized that something was obviously wrong.

Nick's obsidian-colored eyes narrowed. "Don't act in front of me."

She shook her head feebly, slid down, and sat on the ground while she clutched her chest and gasped in pain.

Nick Cage stood in front of her, in a condescending tone he asked her. "Do you have asthma?"

Veronica Parker closed her eyes. Even if she tried to open it, she was having a hard time. All of her strength was spent on breathing. She felt excruciating pain as she gasped for breath hard. She reached out and grabbed Nick's trouser leg and uttered two words sadly and with difficulty. "Save me..."
