Chapter 62 Ride Home
Chapter 62 Ride Home
She is the daughter of Chloe Bowen. It's too late for him to hate her.
When Veronica got out of the hospital, she walked for a while but her weak body finally couldn't bear it. She decided to settle down by the altar near the plantation of green plants by the roadside. She knew she needed a good rest.
She was determined not to go back by taxi, and she's going to the subway station instead.
Veronica Parker looked up at the moon in the sky, it was round and bright that somehow soothed her chaotic mind.
It was a thrilling night.
After the collapse of her whole body, she knew that there will be a kind of palpitations that she experienced a while ago for the rest of her life.
After a while, the moon in the sky was replaced by a human face and Veronica Parker's eyes trembled. When he saw who it was, her face turned sour and withdrew her sight coldly.
She stood up and attempted to leave.
After taking two steps, Veronica was suddenly caught by the wrist. She was surprised and turned angrily. "Let me go!"
"Why don't you have that angst and same spirit in front of Nick?" Toby asked.
Then, before Veronica could realize who it was, she picked up like a princess. He put her in the passenger seat of his car and fastened her seat belt.
"You!" Veronica Parker glared at him angrily.
"Don't move." Toby slammed the door.
Veronica went to answer the door at once, but she couldn't open it.
'What kind of stupid car is this? If the door closes, it won't open the central lock!' She furiously thought.
Veronica Parker regarded this car worth more than 4 million dollars as a broken car.
Toby Cage sat in the driver's seat and Veronica turned around to face him and said angrily. "Let me out of the car! Who in their right mind forces someone to sit inside your car?"
Toby looked at her silently as he started the car.
"Don't you understand?" Veronica doesn't want to look at him in the eye here.
Toby took something out of his pocket and threw it on her lap.
She was stunned when she saw the medicine, a spray for asthma.
She suddenly looked up. "Are you in the hospital? Does that mean you heard everything I said in the hospital?"
"I didn't expect you to have such a hidden disease. There's nothing good that will happen if you continue to care about the past. Don't dwell on it anymore. People should move on." Toby said faintly.
Veronica sneered. "You're right. People really need to move on. So, excuse me. Why on earth did you force me to sit in your car? Do I look so helpless in your eyes?"
Toby Cage put his hand on his chin and rubbed it slightly. He felt butterflies on his belly as he locked his gaze at Veronica Parker, narrowed his eyes, think, and said, "An unwritten human decency sympathizes for the weak." He teased back as he smiled smugly at her.
Veronica Parker gritted her teeth and resisted the impulse to slap him in the face. "Let me out of the car!"
Toby started the car and throttled out. "You can jump out of the car."
"What's wrong with you, Toby Cage? Do I have anything to do with you?" Veronica Parker just wanted to make a clean break with him.
"Does an ex-girlfriend count?"
"Go to hell!" Veronica couldn't help it and pushed him with her hand.
Toby accurately grasped her hand with his palms. He tightly clutched her hand and said, "Hey, I'm driving and I don't want to die with you."
Veronica Parker withdrew her hand forcefully. "Find another woman to die with you!"
She sat angrily on the passenger seat and didn't talk nor bothered to banter with him.
Toby looked at Veronica Parker as he drove, and her angry look made his eyes deep and soft.
"Address." Toby gently asked.
What Veronica Parker hates the most is that he dared to ask for her address. After all, the six children are just a big secret that she hides with all her might.
She won't even talk about them to Chloe Bowen.
But then, as unbelievable for her to say, this man she was in the car with appeared trustful enough.
"Sunshine Apartment." Veronica Parker was silent for a moment and said it.
The car stopped outside the Sunshine Apartment and Veronica pulled the seat belt. She opened the door to get out of the car. At this time, the door could be opened and she can see that it was because of the key in Toby's hand.
Veronica, who got off the car, stood by the side of the road and waited for Toby Cage to leave. What shocked her is that Toby also got out of the car.
He took off his coat as he walked towards Veronica Parker.
As soon as he reached where she is, the dark striped coat was put on Veronica's shoulder, and a warm scent waft from her shoulders mixed with the familiar scent of Toby Cage.
