Chapter 623 Refusing Was Never An Option
Of course, Veronica Parker wanted to eat. She didn't eat much of that noodles and the other half was spoiled by Nick Cage.
She forgot about what happened earlier and joined Nick Cage on the table.
Veronica Parker couldn't understand why Nick Cage prefers to eat at her apartment. All those preparations were too much. All she wanted earlier was to go home, eat and have a good rest. But he came and changed everything.
"You should go back to the Winter Villa after dinner. The children are waiting for you." She suggested. "Are you trying to kick me out of your apartment?" He responded.
She froze.
Then he uttered, "I'll go home. But not tonight." "No? How pitiful for the little ones then." Veronica Parker looked serious.
"Let's go back together?" He offered.
"I don't want to." She refused then played with the rice in her bowl.
Nick Cage looked at her with his dark eyes and reached out to take the grain of rice off her face.
The gentle touch made Veronica Parker's body tremble.
"Do you like living here so much?" Nick Cage's fingers slid across Veronica Parker's ear.
The rough feeling made her sensitive body lean against her chair.
She slightly moved away from him and said, "Just like you, you like staying at Winter Villa. But I can't just go back there."
"Why not?" He was confused.
Veronica Parker was shocked when he uttered those words, "You forgot what you did? Oh come on, just give me back my keys." Nick Cage glanced at her and ignored her request.
"Didn't you hear what I just said? Give me back my keys!" She demanded.
"If you want it, search it yourself." Nick Cage provoked Veronica Parker.
Veronica Parker looked straight into his eyes and asked, "You think I can't do it?" Nick Cage just stared at her.
Without thinking, Veronica Parker stood up, approached Nick Cage, and started searching for her keys.
She was too eager to find it and didn't worry about his reactions.
Veronica Parker stood so close to Nick Cage and checked even the inside pockets of his coat. Instead of finding the keys, she found the sprayer on his inner pocket.
She was taken aback.
Her face became red, her eyes trembled slightly, and her heartbeat became more and more out of control.
She wondered why he would need such a sprayer.
Nick Cage's sharp eyes locked with hers and were focused on the changes on her face.
Her little face flushed, she also bit her lower lip and her eyes deepened.
"Are you looking for the keys, or are you trying to seduce me?" Nick Cage teased.
She felt his warm breath on her face. She wanted to faint. She seemed confused. Veronica Parker tried so hard to maintain her composure and asked, "Where on earth did you put the keys?"
As soon as she uttered those words, she felt him much closer to her. He was so close that she couldn't see his face. She felt his warm body and she got so worried that he would also feel her heart pounding. Her chest tightened but she couldn't move away from him. Her body was trembling. She couldn't understand what has gotten into her.
Her eyes were fixated on Nick Cage's deep and sharp eyes.
"Can't find it?" Nick Cage asked.
"You did it on purpose," she mumbled.
"Yes, I did." Nick Cage admitted.
After that, he moved closer to her. Then he cupped her face with his hand and gently kissed her.
Veronica Parker parted her lips when he kissed her and just accepted his kisses.
While her eyes were closed, she traced his broad and strong shoulders.
She was still trembling even after he kissed her and was not in the position to refuse him.
She tried to catch her breath and pushed him a little farther.
"The keys. The keys." Veronica Parker whispered.
"Do you want it? So soon? Ok, I'll give it to you now." Nick Cage responded with a naughty voice.
He tried to kiss her again but she slightly moved her face away to explain.
"No, Nick. I mean the house keys." Veronica Parker's voice was shaking.
Even before she could say anything further, he pressed his lips against her and tightly held her.
Then they heard a voice from outside.
"I didn't know that Mr. Cage was in there. If I had known, then I wouldn't come here to personally deliver the food for Veronica." The woman explained.
Veronica Parker was not expecting to hear that familiar voice. She immediately wondered why she came to visit her.
