Chapter 624 A Spy On The Loose

Veronica Parker was stunned and immediately got up from Nick Cage and arranged the neckline of his clothes.

His face was flushed. He wanted to spend more time with Veronica Parker. When he finally had the chance to kiss her again, Clare Parker interrupted his moment with her.

Both of them wondered why she even came to visit her. Was it really because of the food or she just wanted to spy on her?

Veronica Parker knew Clare Parker would never visit her for no reason.

Clare Parker was up to something.

Then they heard the merciless voice of the bodyguard, "No need." As they try to send her away.

"I'm Veronica Parker's sister, and she won't turn me down." Clare Parker argued.

Veronica Parker went over and opened the door, just wide enough to see Clare Parker outside. She looked at her and spoke coldly, "I don't need anything from you. You may go now.

Clare Parker wanted to look inside the house, but she couldn't see anything because Veronica Parker's body was blocking it. Veronica Parker did it on purpose because she knew what Clare was up to.

"Veronica, when I found out that you didn't go to the party, I figured you might be hungry. So I asked the driver to bring me here so I can personally give it to you. I don't mean to cause so much trouble. Why do you hate me so much? We're family, remember?" Clare Parker said in a pretentious voice.

Veronica Parker rolled her eyes and didn't accept Clare Parker's explanation.

"Please send her away." Veronica Parker waved her hand and slammed the door.

Before the bodyguard could touch her, Clare Parker said, "I'll go by myself!"

Clare Parker turned away angrily.

Clare Parker was not there to deliver food. Rather, she just wanted to see for herself if Nick Cage would be around. Deep inside she knew the answer but she just couldn't accept the sad truth.

She got jealous of Veronica Parker and wished that she would just disappear. Out of jealousy, she took her phone out of her pocket and dialed Rachel Hamilton's number. Back to Veronica Parker's apartment, Veronica Parker was surprised to see Nick Cage staring at her when she turned around after closing the door.

"What are you looking at?" Veronica Parker asked impolitely.

She wasn't even thinking when she asked him that.

Veronica Parker saw Nick Cage get up so she ran towards her room to hide.

But before she could close the door, Nick Cage slightly pushed it.

Veronica Parker tried to support the door using her whole body so he couldn't get in. But he was much stronger than her.

She finally gave in so he pushed the door even further to get in.

Veronica Parker turned and ran, but Nick Cage was just behind her.

He caught her then pressed her on the bed. "Nick Cage, what are you up to?" Veronica Parker asked and tried to push him away.

He ignored her question. He just looked at her frightened eyes, and then he asked, "Why do you want to stay here?"

"We agreed before that I would just visit Winter Villa. And this apartment would still be my main place. I live here. You wouldn't change our agreement right?" Veronica Parker confirmed.

Nick Cage held her chin and bit into Veronica Parker's lower lip, causing her to frown.

"Go to bed early." Nick Cage uttered then pulled his body away from her.

Veronica Parker watched Nick Cage leave the room. Then she heard the sound of her main door closing.

Veronica Parker's body collapsed and she couldn't get up. Her fingers stroked her slightly swollen lips. The scent of Nick Cage's perfume lingered. She could easily recognize Nick Cage's scent. Veronica Parker couldn't believe that Nick Cage left already. Their intimate encounter earlier was so intense and she never thought that he would let her rest. Veronica Parker turned to her side and faced the window. Her mind was wandering.

Nick Cage spent the evening with Veronica Parker and had dinner with her. Even after that intimacy, he left her and went home. She was now wondering why he suddenly changed his mind.

She couldn't believe that she had the guts to refuse him.

Her heart and mind were so messed up but she couldn't stop thinking about him.

Back to the station, Veronica Parker was the main person in charge of the planning for Childhood Mowgli 3. Aside from shooting commercials and magazine covers, she needed to attend meetings and interview cute kids every day. The first two seasons went well and she couldn't be happier. Since they needed to shoot again for the third season, Veronica Parker will interview the same batch of cute kids. They already know how to go to the station so no need for her to worry about anything.

All she needed was an interview.
