Chapter 733 Abandoned Child
Chapter 733 Abandoned Child
"How do you know I can't have children?" Tom Parker asked, "I don't believe your grandmother said that. If you knew it by then, you should have confronted me already."
"If I tell you the truth, what can you do for me in return?" he asked.
"It depends on your answer."
"The truth is I don't know who your parents are. Your grandmother brought you home one day and raised you as my child", he said.
Veronica Parker was a little convinced. She knew that Tom Parker was infertile and that's why she was raised to be her daughter.
"That's it? Grandma didn't tell you anything else?," Veronica Parker asked.
"She told me about a rich couple who couldn't accept that their firstborn was a girl. As you know, there are still families who considered having a boy as their firstborn; especially the rich ones who only wanted their sons to inherit their fortune. If they only knew their daughter has a very promising life ahead."
Promising? Was it because of Nick Cage? These people were all slaves of money and power.
Veronica Parker stared at Tom Parker for a while. If what he's saying was true, it means that she was an abandoned child.
She was not expecting this. She thought there was a big gap in the story.
She thought her parents accidentally lost her and maybe tried to find her, too. If she was an abandoned child, how could it be possible for her to find her biological parents?
"Are you going to look for them? I think there were some clues about them living in the countryside. Do you have any of your grandmother's belongings?" he asked.
" No," Veronica Parker said.
Her grandmother doesn't have many belongings.
At this time, she couldn't decide whether to find them or not.
If she found them, what would she say? How could she face the people who abandoned her?
"When shall I go back to visit my other house?" Tom Parker was talking about the house where he lived with Chloe Bowen.
The house was still there, but no one lived and no one took care of it. "Now I told you the truth, are you going to help me?" he asked.
"Why didn't you tell me about this before?" she asked.
"I'm afraid you would never talk to me when you find your parents," he said.
Veronica Parker smirked.
"The deal is off," she said.
It made Tom Parker angry. He stood up and said, "Veronica, you are deceiving me."
"I know you're not related to grandma. She raised you but you ran away. She should have adopted a dog."
"I told you, I'm her son!" Tom Parker's face was furious.
