Chapter 770 Without You I'd Be Miserable At Best
When was the time that they went out for fishing?
"Mom, let's go fishing!" Lily squealed.
"Fishing! I want to go fishing, too!" Peter shouted.
"Fishing!" Julie blurted out.
"Hmm-hmm!" Josh timidly nodded his head.
Veronica looked at the sparkling eyes of the six small ones, and they all seemed to like fishing.
Then she'd accompany them to go fishing.
While playing, Veronica occasionally looked into the distance and to the windows of the villa, but could not see who were inside.
Nick hadn't come out since they went back. That's it, she didn't know what they talked over and now he's just going to entirely ignore her?
Something surely happened between Toby and Nick, but she didn't let the matter control her mind or her heart.
Absentmindedly, Veronica checked if she was still accompanying exactly six little children only to find that something was wrong. "Hey, where's Lily?"
The five little ones were each having a good time, so how could they notice where Lily had gone?
Meanwhile, the door to the study was pushed open, and Lily's little figure squeezed into the crack. "Daddy?"
Inside, Nick Cage sat behind his desk with the dim lights on. Since it was dark and the ambience was horrible, Lily looked scared and did not dare to go in.
Nick Cage turned on the lights, fixed his countenance and looked at Lily from behind the door. "Why don't you come in?"
Lily hurriedly went in, straight to lying on her daddy's lap, leaning back her little face. "Daddy, come and play with us!"
With that, she grabbed a finger of Nick and pulled him out of the study.
Veronica didn't worry too much about Lily, because there's no place safer than the Winter Villa.
No need to worry.
'When I was shooting a video for the cute babies with my cell phone, I saw Nick coming, holding Lily in one arm.'
Veronica turned to them and she figured that Lily had gone to find Nick.
Lily slipped off Nick and ran to her mom to take credit. "I brought Daddy!"
There was a reluctant smile on her face. "Yes, I see. Thank you!"
She could feel the weight of Nick's stares at her that were way too obvious, but she only acted as if she didn't know anything.
She here to accompany the six little ones to play. 'Pull yourself together and be a good mom!' But she just couldn't think straight with Nick at close range.
It's too hard for her to keep her good-mom act.
Over the pool, Peter let go of his fishing rod and reached directly into the water. "Don't swim away!" Don't go! Don't go!"
His whole sleeve was already soaked.
"Let me help you!" Julie also began to catch the fish with her bare hands, and accidentally splashed some water on Daniel's fleshy face.
"Well." Daniel looked simple and cute.
Nick Cage stood up and scooped both of them away from the pool. If he hadn't stopped them, the two of them would climb and end up bathing into the pool.
"Ah! Let go! I want to catch fish! I want to catch fish! " Peter clamored.
Cathy's eyes glowed. "Ah! I caught a fish!"
Peter and Julie immediately stopped struggling.
Cathy held the fish she caught in front of Veronica and exclaimed, "Mom, look! This is the fish that I caught!"
"How impressive!" Veronica praised her.
"Shall we have a fish for dinner? Just like on a big ship!" Cathy looked expectant.
"This..." Veronica laughed. "Well, a goldfish can't be eaten."
At the hospital. Toby lied on the bed in the ward with his eyes closed.
Suzanne asked, "Are you sure you don't want to eat anything? I bought it all for you, and you have to eat something even just a little!"
"I lost my appetite."
"Toby! You have no idea how mad I am right now. Every time you're acting like this, I feel like I couldn't understand you more."
"Just leave me alone! I'll eat later." Toby said.
Suzanne noticed the apathetic look on Toby's visage even with his eyes closed. And she couldn't help but feel angry at his sudden indifference.
Was this still the Toby Cage she knew who couldn't bear to lose everything that he knew he had control over? He was proud! His being was filled with ruthlessness! Where had that Toby gone?
