Chapter 85 Phone Call

There was no emotion on Nick Cage's face and his black eyes were quiet and indifferent. He walked up to Veronica Parker and held out his hand.

Veronica Parker looked at the palm that was in front of her, it was such a powerful hand.

The meaning was very clear, he was asking for her cell phone. He wanted to look at the phone records on her phone.

Veronica Parker was a mess inside.

What would she do?

"I just called my aunt," Veronica explained.

She was trying to restrain her heart which was about to jump out of her body and took a step back.

"Don't test my patience." Nick's voice was cold and demanding.

Veronica's heel pressed against the sofa and she knew that she would not be able to take another step back. He put his hands in her back. He was trying to find her cellphone by groping her behind. Her phone was directly seized by the impatient Nick.

"My cell phone." Veronica still wanted to get her cellphone back.

"Do you want to die?" Nick looked at her harshly.

Veronica's hand froze and she dared not to move.

She stood there watching Nick who was checking her phone records. He scrolled upwards to check her call logs from a few minutes ago. It was her call with Isabella.

If he would see this, Nick would believe that it was really just a phone call from an aunt, right?

However, he did not, Nick called back the phone number registered on her directory.

Veronica Parker had her heart in her throat.

Why was he calling? What was he suspicious of?

Veronica looked nervously at Nick's face. She was wondering if the phone has been connected already or if Isabella has said anything about the children.

A deep and shrewd man like Nick was bound to suspect something at the mere mention of a word.

It was as if he saw Isabella's number and called to confirm it himself.

She didn't know what he was suspicious of.

Nick answered the phone while his black eyes were staring at her coldly.

Veronica was standing still. She was holding her breath so much that she could hear her heartbeat.

Did Isabella say something about her children? Don't talk about children! Don't say a word.

Just when Veronica's heart was about to stop, Nick unfathomably gave her the phone.

Veronica didn't know what was going on and hurried to answer the phone, "Hello?"

"Can you hear me? I'm still on my way. It'll take me a while to get home. "

"It's all right, that's all. I'll hang up." Veronica hung up the phone hurriedly. She glanced at Nick's cold face and said, "I was afraid she wouldn't see me when she came back, so I called her. It doesn't matter if the electricity is on at home."

"So anxious to see Toby Cage."

Veronica Parker was stupefied for a moment. "Of course not. I just went to return the clothes. I thought I could go back soon." It was because of his appearance that she was not able to go back!

"Don't think about marrying into the Cage family." Nick Cage said. His phone vibrated, he turned to answer it and left the room.

Veronica's taut nerves loosened.

His words sounded like she couldn't wait to marry into the Cage family.

Who would care about someone else's business? Anyway, she didn't want to!

But it was really thrilling to answer the phone just now.

She was trembling with fear.

As soon as she calmed down and now that the child's affairs were solved, what would be next?

Veronica's fear came back.

She was just about to walk out of the room.

The shadow shrouded in front of Veronica's eyes. It was covered with a layer of gray shadow, and before she was able to react, she was easily thrown on the sofa by Nick Cage

"Ah!"

Nick Cage threw the spray at the top of her head and tore open her coat. It showed her white shoulder.

"No!"

Nick Cage bent down and crawled like a beast, his hawk-like black eyes locked on her nervous eyes. "Now that there's medicine, it doesn't matter if I'm a little rough."
