Chapter 885 She Unexpectedly Ran Away
Chapter 885 She Unexpectedly Ran Away
Veronica Parker pulled away a little bit from Nick Cage and tried to put away his big hand on her shoulder. Feeling detached, she turned her stare away from his eyes.
Soon, she carried her backpack and rushed out of the room. But she forgot to take the elevator and ran on the promenade.
It seemed that if she kept running like this, her messy brain didn't have to rest.
As she was on her way, Bob came up, looked at her, and asked, "Miss Parker?" She was stunned for a moment when Bob called her.
But Veronica just kept running down the stairs as if she didn't hear it.
However, at the last step, her feet were unstable and she fell to the ground.
Bob was so frightened that he could only say, "Miss Parker!"
Not wanting to go down and see what would happen next, Veronica hurriedly got up and continued to run, disappearing into the distance.
Bob could only think about what was going on as he looked into the distant room. He wondered if Mr. Cage and Ms. Parker fought.
He went to the door of the six little boys' room to check, but there was no sound inside. So he went in and asked, "Mr. Cage?"
When he got to the bathroom door, he saw that Mr. Cage's hands were dripping with blood. His voice was frightened as he exclaimed, "Mr. Cage, you're bleeding!"
"Don't be a nuisance!"
"But your hand needs to be treated."
"Get out!"
As he heard that, Bob glanced nervously at Nick's bloody hand. He knew he had to turn around and leave the room.
In front of Nick, the bathroom mirror was broken. He punched it with his fist. Because the force was too strong, the glass shattered into a hundred variety of shapes, and the wounds on his fist were hideous.
Nick thought that Veronica was really getting more out of hand as she was always challenging his patience.
Nick thought, 'What good is it to her to provoke me? Marriage? Love? I don't need that! I don't! Can't she understand?'
The truth was, he wouldn't give it to her for the rest of his life. He couldn't give it to her.
Meanwhile, Leo was absorbed in driving. But he still occasionally glanced at the person sitting behind him in the rearview mirror.
Although she didn't cry or make any noise, she seemed out of shape.
And it was like something big had happened.
As he drove, Veronica looked out of the window without any expression in her eyes.
She wondered, 'What kind of mood is Nick in now? It's supposed to be anger, right?'
She singled out Nick's weakness to make him angry at her.
And she had done it twice in a short time.
But she didn't know if she was provoking Nick Cage, or if she was only torturing herself.
Because she was not happy at all.
Soon, tears began to fall from her eyes and there was despair on her face.
Now, even the children could not save her. Back at Winter Villa, she initially thought that seeing the children would be her saving grace. She thought that if she spent some time with the children, this could help heal her mind and forget all the pain. She honestly tried all night but to no avail.
She was so scared because she didn't know what was wrong with her.
Suddenly, the car braked sharply at the gate of the neighborhood.
Veronica saw an angry and haggard Eden Cage outside the window.
Her heart pricked with pain. Because it was Eden who separated her and Toby Cage.
Leo was about to speak when he heard Veronica say, "You drive the car in first. I have to talk to him about something."
Leo replied to her, "What? That won't be good for you, will it?" Then Leo looked out of the car and looked at Eden who was kicking the door like a psychopath.
Veronica curtly replied, "Never mind." And with that, she pushed the door of the car and got off.
She closed the door and looked indifferently at Eden who rushed in front of her angrily. He looked like he wanted to fight.
Eden who was in disbelief told her, "Bitch, how dare you get out of the car?"
Veronica looked at Leo who was sticking his head out of the window and told him, "I'm really worried, so just drive a little further."
Leo knew that if he drove the car inside, he could see the situation outside.
Eden shouted at Veronica, "Do you think I can't beat your driver? Who do you think you are? You're just relying on Nick Cage to bully others."
When Veronica looked at him, she was extremely sad. But her heart was calm when she told him, "Why does Toby have a father like you?"
