Chapter 99 Experiencing A Hangover
Chapter 99 Experiencing A Hangover
Veronica raised her hand to cover her forehead and frowned dizzily. She staggered two steps forward, straight into Nick's arms, and leaned against his sturdy chest, "Well. I'm not feeling well."
Nick raised his hand and pinched her chin, his black eyes narrowed, "After drinking all of my wine, do you think I should spare you with a word of affliction? Huh? "
Veronica frowned painfully. "No."
She leaned softly against Nick's arms. Her legs can no longer hold up and she simply slipped down. Veronica sat on the ground, leaned her head against Nick's long legs, and fell asleep.
Nick's face became gloomy, he looked down at Veronica, who was drunk as she rubs her face into his legs. Nick thought that this is his chance to tear off Veronica's clothes, force into her body, and let her bear his rage.
The next morning, Veronica, who was lying in bed, gradually became conscious and she felt her head heavy and painful. She's apparently experiencing a hangover.
"Peter," Veronica muttered the child's name. She reached out and felt an empty space.
She slowly opened her eyes, still feeling dizzy. She realized she's still in Winter Villa and Peter was not by her side. She looked around and realized she was no longer in the cellar but in a room.
Veronica sat up from the bed in pain, "Aw."
She felt uncomfortable, for a moment she remembered she was at the wine cellar and was so hungry yesterday but cannot remember what happened afterward. The next thing she knows, she's already in this room and wondered if Nick already released her.
Veronica frowned and tried to remember what happened. Then there was a sudden knock at the door and a maid in overalls came in.
"Miss Parker, are you awake? Do you want to have lunch in your room?"
Veronica was still a little unaccustomed to being served but since she had so many questions in mind, she asked, "Where am I and why am I here? Does Mr. Cage have anything to do with me being here?"
The maid responded, "This room is for you, Miss Parker. I heard the other housekeepers say that you drank a dozen of wine that costs millions and Mr. Cage was very angry. That's all I know."
"What? A dozen of wine? " Veronica was shocked and gasped for breath and thought that she only took a few bottles and wondered why it was so expensive.
"Are you sure you're not messing with me?" She asked, unbelieving.
"Some of those wines were auctioned and some were very valuable. If they will be added up it would cost millions." The maid explained it to her.
Veronica felt her head hurt even more.
She actually wasted a dozen of wine that costs millions, she felt tensed when she heard that Nick was very angry and thought it would be frightening to see him angry.
"Nick is not asking me to pay, is he?" Veronica was in a panic when she asked because she cannot afford to pay for it.
"I don't know about that." The maid responded.
Veronica looked around the room, her apartment is a kennel compared to it.
"You said he was angry. Do you think Nick's anger has subsided?" Veronica asked.
The maid glanced at her but did not respond.
Veronica thought that the maid looked at her with sympathy but did not bother to mind. She felt her stomach growl in hunger and her forehead began to sweat. She was starving.
"Bring me the food. I'll eat it here." Veronica said.
The maid left.
Veronica felt weak and collapsed back to her bed. She can't wait to fill her stomach with food.
