Chapter 47
After sharing my photos on WeChat, I brought the results of my cooking, which were still in the kitchen, to the dining room and put them on the dining table along with the cutlery. Then I took a glass of warm water and put it on the table. My eyes then turned to the window in my room, which I realized was still covered by the curtain. I shook my head, remembering my foolishness. I forgot to open the blinds when I got to the house earlier, so I opened it and then walked to the window of the room and opened it. The sunlight immediately moved to fill the entire room, making the room that was not so bright now became brighter.
I then turned off my room lights and sat on the table. My hand moved to grab my smartphone and started playing Candy Crush while thinking of another game that I could download and try next time. I think I've played Candy Crush too many times, which oddly enough I did not feel bored playing it at all. So, for variety, it looked like I was going to ask Dania, one of my colleagues who really love to play games on the smartphone, to ask for recommendations regarding the games I could play besides what I was playing at the moment.
A few moments later, a voice came from the rice cooker, which indicated that the rice I had cooked was cooked. Then I put my smartphone on the table, washed my hands, and took enough rice on the plate, along with a spoon and fork, then started to enjoy my cooking while running out.
After eating, I tidied up the cutlery and washed it clean. Then I washed my hands and walked to the sofa chair while back folding my legs on the sofa chair.
"He must still feel upset for what I said to him this morning. Should I give him my present tomorrow as a form of apology to him for my mistake?" I asked, staring at my desk in a way that looked even more annoying than usual. I glanced at the table before I finally gave up and sighed softly.
"But what should I give to him as a present? I remember that his birthday is next week." I complained, resting my chin on my knee.
"Oh, that's right! I can give him that as a present." I said, remembering that I had my favorite frog doll that I always held to sleep whenever I felt I could not sleep well. I immediately ran to my room and took my favorite stuffed frog, which was still lying sweetly on my bed. I held the doll and hugged it tightly. Then I took the doll away from me while looking closely at him.
"I know this isn't a new thing. But I want to give him something that will remind him of me." I said, about to wrap it up when I remembered one of my packages of perfume that was still untouched and picked it up to pack with the frog doll. I took several sheets of paper, which I packed into a ball so that the perfume bottle I was carrying would not break.
"Perfect. Tomorrow, I just have to give it to Dominik. I hope he's not angry with me anymore." I said. I looked at the wrapper with a satisfied smile, then I put the package on my nightstand. Then I decided to spend my weekend watching one of those Netflix TV series that I haven't had time to finish. I immediately ran to the dining room and grabbed my cellphone to open the Netflix app and select the TV series I was watching today. Especially if it's not Shadowhunters and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina?
I looked at my smartphone screen, which displayed the search results for the TV series I wanted to watch on Netflix. Actually, I really wish I could watch both at once. But that's impossible, considering I've missed a season each. Obviously, I won't have enough time to watch them all at once. Confused about which one to watch first, I finally decided to take a light green memo paper and tear it into two pieces. Then I wrote the title of the series I wanted to watch on Netflix, and folded it as small as possible, and shuffled it.
While closing my eyes, my hand moved to take one of the papers that I would choose. Then I opened my eyes and opened the paper that I was currently holding.
"Let's open it. Shadowhunters. Yey!" I exclaimed, clenching my fists in the air and cheering with joy because it was the TV series I wanted to watch today. I immediately put the used memo paper into the box and put it inside one of the small drawers near the living room. Then I immediately chose the TV series that had been determined by lottery.
Come to think of it, why do I have to raffle something I already knew from the start if I really wanted to? I thought as soon as I saw the scene where Simon faced a dilemma when Yom Kippur's day arrived. I leaned my smartphone against the tissue box, which is not far from where I am currently watching, and I pushed my body back to the back of the chair.
"I bet he must be confused about his current situation. He wants to stick to his Jewish religious traditions, but now since he's a vampire, it's much more difficult to do it. I have more respect for Clary's best friend." I said, shaking my head while refocusing my attention on the series I was currently watching. My hand took one of the Soyjoys, which I put on the dining table as a snack, and began to unwrap it, then just put it in my mouth.
