I'm Fine
Dizziness was the first feeling Kimberly felt when she woke up. He blinked several times until he regained consciousness. He glanced around the room for a moment. Then he believed that he was now at Nicholas's house.
But what he remembered this was not the room he slept in last night. As he recalled, the room where he was asleep was gray, not black and white as it is now. So whose room is he lying in now?
"Are you awake?" The baritone voice sounded clear to Kimberly's ears. Looking for the source of the sound, Kimberly found the man sitting on the sofa sipping the coffee in his hand.
"This isn't my room, is it?" Kimberly asked.
Nicholas nodded. "Yes, this is my bedroom," Nicholas replied. "I wanted to put you in your room, but the door was locked. It just so happened that the spare key was hanging inside." he continued.
Kimberly just remembered this morning, and she had deliberately locked her room and kept the key in her briefcase. No need to be surprised because it is a habit that he often does when he leaves the house. "Thanks and sorry for bothering you," said Kimberly.
Nicholas standing from his seat. "No need to thank, just think of deepening the role of a lover." Kimberly's face involuntarily turned red when she heard Nicholas' words. I didn't think he would say such a thing.
"Are you able to get up?" asked Nicholas, then Kimberly answered with a nod. "I'm better than before"
"Then change your clothes now, then go to the dining room. You must eat and take your medicine."
While Nicholas was waiting in the dining room, Kimberly quickly changed into the casual clothes she wore at home. When he entered the dining room, Nicholas had to swallow hard saliva again. Last night Kimberly casually had dinner wearing only a bathrobe. Then now, the woman is sitting casually wearing only a thin cotton tank top paired with short jeans above the knee.
He didn't think about the current anxiety of Nicholas, who had to struggle to dispel all the strange thoughts inside him. Strengthen the servant of God. Nicholas kept repeating those words in his heart. After all, I'm an ordinary man. How could she dress scantily like this in front of me? Don't let me pounce on him. Nicholas struggled to keep his face regular. One of them was also arrogant to say that he would not be interested in Kimberly. Then, is now his heart starting to waver? Kimberly wondered, realizing the man in front of her was silent and didn't say a word.
"You're not eating?" Nicholas shook his head. "Finish your food, so you get well soon. You're troublesome when you're sick like this."
"I can take care of myself," Kimberly whispered.
Nicholas sneered. "Oh yeah? If you forgot, this is the second time you're bothering me. It turns out you can't keep your word."
Kimberly chose silence. She acted as if she didn't feel like replying to all of Nicholas' words as usual. Maybe because she was still weak, she let Nicholas talk as he pleased.
Noticing Kimberly, who was only silent after hearing her words, Nicholas was confused. He deliberately sneered in his heart to make her angry and reply as usual. He prefers Kimberly, who is always angry and protests when told.
Kimberly looked away from her food and stared at Nicholas before she finally reached for the spoon in her bowl. "You want to try?" there was a sudden silence between them. Kimberly offered Nicholas the food he was eating.
Nicholas shook his head. "No, you just eat." declined Nicholas gently.
It wasn't that Nicholas didn't want to accept Kimberly's offer. It's just that the woman is eating porridge at the moment. Nicholas didn't like anything to do with porridge. He remembered when he was little and when he was sick, his mother always forced him to eat porridge for days. That's why he hates porridge so much.
"It's delicious, and you should try it." Kimberly doesn't seem to want to give up this time.
"How good is it? I feel like a baby or old man when I eat porridge like that," Nicholas protested. This time Kimberly scooped up the porridge in the bowl and pointed it straight at Nicholas.
"Try it once. I'm not lying. It's delicious," Kimberly cooed.
Hesitant, Nicholas answered. "Okay, just one bite."
Kimberly immediately shoved the porridge she spooned earlier into Nicholas' mouth. I noticed how the man seemed to be struggling to chew the porridge given by Kimberly. On the other hand, Nicholas just resigned himself to enjoying the taste of the food he hadn't touched in a long time. "How? It's delicious, isn't it?" Kimberly asked.
"Not so bad, though it still tastes the same. I might spit it out right now if you didn't force me," Nicholas said. He deliberately dramatizes so that Kimberly stops his offer.
Kimberly chuckled at Nicholas' behaviour. "Then you should try this lasagna. I'll feed it for you." Kimberly took another spoonful of the beef lasagna in the bowl and then pointed it at Nicholas' mouth.
But before Nicholas accepted the mouthful, repeated knocks on the door from outside forced the two of them to stop eating. "Who's visiting this late in the evening!" Nicholas grumbled.
In his heart, he was already cursing and cursing whoever was in front of the door now. How could it not be? Whoever it was had disturbed him and Kimberly, enjoying a meal together. The knock on the door got louder and louder. Nicholas walked briskly while creating thousands of curses in his brain. If it's not essential, he swears he'll immediately shut the door with a bang.
"Why did it take so long to open the door?" said the man who was none other than Edward. The man looked around as if looking for Kimberly's whereabouts.
"I told you, there's no need to visit Kimberly. She's fine, now hurry home. Your presence bothers me quite a bit," said Nicholas.
That's not the reason Nicholas refused Edward's arrival. He didn't want a big-time playboy like Edward to meet Kimberly, who was wearing skimpy clothes. The man could be tempted, and Nicholas should be able to avoid it. He is very unwilling if his best friend thinks dirty to Kimberly. "Not. I won't let Edward meet Kimberly this time."
Edward shook his head hard. "I have to see Kimberly first. I have to make sure she's okay." Nicholas furrowed his brows.
"Who are you, Kimberly, so you must check on her?"
"I-I...well, just think of me as his best friend. Or maybe you can think of me as his boss or his secret admirer. The important thing is that I want to meet him now." Edward also leaned forward, intending to enter into Nicholas' apartment unit. The man quickly blocked by pushing his body. "Kimberly is sleeping, Ed. Tomorrow you can see her in person at the office," Nicholas offered. "What's so hard about seeing each other for a while, Nick? Besides, you're not officially her boyfriend yet, are you?" Edward protested.
Nicholas snorted in annoyance. "Then let's say that I am Kimberly's lover from this moment on. Therefore, I forbid any man to meet, let alone approach my lover!"
As Edward was about to reply to his interlocutor's words, Nicholas violently closed the apartment unit door.
"Damn it! You make me think you want to take Kimberly from you, Nick."
