Surgery
This morning, in a large room with shades of gray and minimalist style. Marco Adiatma sipped his cup of coffee while listening to the news of world stock developments from behind the television. Not long after, there was a knock on the door, and a man in a black shirt with a big stature entered. The man who entered is more appropriate to say like a bodyguard or bodyguard if you look around. That man is Joseph. The person assigned to watch over Kimberly. Without hesitation, Joseph stepped to approach. The man handed him a brown folder for inspection. Immediately Marco accepted. Then his hand reached out to open the binder of the map and then took out the photo sheets in it one by one.
For a few moments, Marco looked through every photo he held. Until not long ago, the man's forehead was wrinkled in an even emotion that was almost ignited when he found a picture that disturbed his sanity. "Josh, can you explain what this all means?" Holding back his emotions, Marco held up one of the photos towards Joseph. Joseph came over to look and then came back to his feet again.
"That's a photo of Miss Kimberly holding a simple engagement party at Nicholas's residence in London."
A sharp grin was etched on Marco's face. "What did you say? Was Kimberly desperate to get engaged to Nicholas? Unbeknownst to Arthur's grandfather?" Marco shook his head in disbelief.
"That's the information, sir. Maybe the private party took place two or three days ago," Joseph explained.
Marco leaned his back against the back of the chair. His eyes closed for a moment. His mind was thinking about Kimberly. The decision to let Kimberly out there was, in fact, the wrong choice. And now, he had to think fast about getting the woman back home immediately.
"Did you carry out my orders yesterday, Josh?" asked Marco, to which Joseph nodded his head immediately.
"My messenger last night managed to get into Nicholas' apartment and install a bug in Miss Kimberly's room. I guarantee no one will notice where the device is. So from now on, you can monitor it from afar. And as additional information, Miss's schedule Kimberly is working, as usual, today than during her break she has an appointment to go to the hospital."
Marco's brow furrowed deeply. A big question suddenly popped into his head. "To the hospital? Who's sick? What do you mean, Kimberly?" shouted the man impatiently while Joseph nodded again.
"Miss Kimberly has an appointment with a doctor to take the results of laboratory tests. As for the results, I can't provide more detailed information. But as soon as possible, I will inform you."
This time it was Marco who nodded his head. "Then you can go. Don't forget to look for Kimberly's cellphone number. If you get it, immediately give it to the IT team so I can easily find out the woman's exact position anywhere."
"Very well, sir. I will immediately carry out your orders," said Joseph, nodding. The big man quickly left the room. He was leaving Marco, who returned to continue his work. However, it was difficult for him to concentrate because his mind was on Kimberly. There is a sense of concern for him if his best friend's phobia has had relapses and endangers his health as before. After all, Marco loved Kimberly like a brother. He didn't want anything to happen to her.

The sunny weather today is inversely proportional to Kimberly's current mood. The proof, at breakfast, she chose to remain silent without saying a word to the man sitting in front of him. Last night's incident, which he thought was so embarrassing, made him not even want to reprimand the man-eating the food in front of him. With Nicholas, the man prefers to get lost in his busy life. He was reading the graph displayed by the tablet he was holding instead of apologizing or inviting Kimberly to small talk. It was time to leave. Kimberly dragged her feet to get out of the apartment unit first to the lobby.
She immediately approached Randy, who had parked the car there. Not long after, Nicholas followed inside. And as before, they departed in silence.
"Ran, please, after the airport, take Kimberly to the hospital this afternoon."
From behind the wheel, Randy nodded. "Okay, Mister. I'll do it."
"After finishing business at the hospital, I immediately took Kimberly to the apartment." Nicholas gave orders to Randy as they had just entered the grounds of the AlpaBeta building.
Meanwhile, Kimberly was unmoved. She chose indifference and did not respond at all to the man's words next to him. When he got out of the car, he chose to walk straight away without even looking at Nicholas.
"Looks like Miss Kimberly is upset." Randy, who knew his boss very well, dared to speak. Behind the wheel, Nicholas didn't answer right away. The man cleared his throat loudly. But it didn't take long for the man to speak.
Moreover, he often talks to the driver who has worked with him for the past five years. Randy himself even knew what relationship he and Kimberly had at this time.
"Looks like he's really mad at me. But I'm sure he'll be back to normal in the future," Nicholas answered confidently.
Without realizing it, Randy chuckled behind the wheel. She was laughing at Nicholas, who was so sure of his words. He did not know that women usually will continue to be angry if not seduced. It's mostly like that. "Why You laughing?" Nicholas asked when he found Randy laughing.
"If I may give you a suggestion, Mr. Nicholas should not let Miss Kimberly get better on her own." Nicholas furrowed his brows in confusion.
"You mean how?"
"I mean, Mr.Nicholas should relent and apologize first. That woman doesn't like men who are indifferent or insensitive. If Mister wants things to go back to how they were before, it's better to try the advice I gave."
Randy explained at length to Nicholas. This time Nicholas was completely lost. Take a few deep breaths, and then exhale slowly. He was worried that Kimberly wouldn't forgive what he did last night. But trying to do what Randy suggested wouldn't hurt either. Then he was determined to apologize after all his work was done.

At two o'clock in the afternoon, Kimberly walked leisurely out of the office accompanied by Randy. Fifteen minutes after Jackdara, he finally arrived at the hospital. But just as she walked into the hospital lobby, Kimberly's steps were stopped when someone grabbed her arm—forced her to stop and immediately turned away. There was a surprise, even a little bit of fear, but Kimberly tried to calm her expression.
"Kimberly Aurora, I told you that we are indeed a match. The proof is that we both meet here again." Kimmy laughed wryly. A moment later also answered.
"Marco Adiatma, what else do you need? Besides, I'm sure this isn't destiny like you said. You must have told your people to follow me, right?" Kimberly asked curtly. The look of displeasure was etched on his face.
Now it was Marco's turn to laugh. He felt like someone who was being caught off guard. The woman in front of him was always right in guessing, even from the beginning.
"Okay, you're smart. I just came here to check your status. Is it true that you're engaged to Nicholas? Unbeknownst to grandpa? You don't even know Nicholas that well. Aren't you afraid that he might hurt you in the future?" Marco asked curiously.
Kimberly shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "None of your business."
"My business, how can you be engaged to another man even though our status is also engaged. I'm sure Mr.Nicholas doesn't know anything about our status, right?"
Kimberly glared sharply at Marco. "Don't mess around. You have no right to meddle in my personal affairs. Can't you be nice to me?"
Marco laughed loudly, finding what Kimberly said so ticklish in his stomach.
"What did you say? Doing something good? So all this time, you thought I was bad? If you forget, I can even drag you home anytime. I can even destroy Nicholas whenever I want. You know very well I can do it all, Kimberly." Marco's eyes lit up. His words even made Kimberly shudder.
"You know I don't want our engagement---"
"Yes, I know that." Marco interrupted. It means you have to run away from home. Did you know that Arthur's grandpa is sick right now? Have you ever cared the slightest bit about his condition?"
Kimberly gasped. I didn't expect Marco to say that. He felt like a nut that had lost its skin—ignoring Opa Arthur, who had been taking care of him and giving everything asking. Never once did he return the favor of all Arthur's kindness.
"Please, go home. You have a house, Kimmy. Don't be sorry. When you get home, grandpa isn't there anymore." Marco's tone softened, pleading with the woman to consider his request. "Marco, please. I can't go home for now. I also hope you understand my position." Now it was Kimberly's turn to plead.
In her place, Marco was silent, hearing Kimberly's words. "Okay, for the umpteenth time, I will let you. But again, I beg you, come home. I'm sure you know my phone number. Call me immediately when you change your mind." Without waiting for Kimberly to answer. Marco left the woman just like that.

Kimberly waited for the doctor to arrive while she continued to think about all of Marco's words in the hospital lobby. Arthur is vulnerable to instability. Kimberly even knows that her grandfather has a heart disease that can recur at any time. But, according to him, going home at this time is also not the right choice. He is even determined. If an urgent situation requires him to return home, she will try her best to convince Arthur's uncle to approve of her relationship with Nicholas. After all, she already loves that man. Yes, although Nicholas' feelings for her are still unclear until now.
Busy thinking, Kimberly's thoughts were suddenly broken when the doctor came. He brought the lab results he had been waiting for. Feeling a little anxious, he moved to sit closer to the doctor's office.
"So, how was the result of my blood test yesterday, doc?" Kimberly asked impatiently. More specifically, he was curious.
The doctor opened the diagnostic folder he had brought earlier. Please read it carefully until you finally conclude. "Here, it states that Miss Kimberly's blood test results are ovarian cancer."
"What, doc? Cancer?" Kimberly was shocked to hear the results the doctor readout. He almost jumped from his seat in shock at the doctor's words in front of him.
"Yes, that's right. Stage I Ovarian Cancer (T1-N0-M0) which means early stage. Cancer cells only exist in the ovaries or fallopian tubes and have not spread to all organs. If treated immediately, you can be cured quickly. " the doctor explained.
Kimberly took a deep breath. Even though the doctor said it could be cured because it was still in the early stages, there was still a lot of fear surrounding him. He never even thought that he could have such a dangerous disease. "W-what should I do, doc? Should I have surgery?"
The doctor nodded. "A hysterectomy or surgical removal of the tumor may be required. In some cases, the uterus, fallopian tubes, or ovaries can be removed."
Kimberly straightened her back. Worry welled up inside him. Then he asked again. "What do you mean, Doc?"
"There are cases of both ovaries being removed. That can put the patient at risk of not being able to have children in later life." continued the doctor later. Kimberly's world seemed to collapse after hearing the doctor's explanation. How could she recover but have to lose the opportunity to have children in the future? So, why does he live?
"That means I can't have children?" Kimberly asked again to be sure.
"In the case of Miss Kimberly, I can't be sure. An in-depth observation must be carried out. That's why I suggest that you immediately perform surgery so that the cancer cells do not spread and endanger your own life." explained the doctor at length.
Kimberly nodded in understanding. A moment later, the woman asked again.
"So, when can I have surgery?"
"Miss Kimberly can make an appointment with the oncologist in advance. I suggest that you make an appointment as soon as possible so that this disease as soon as possible."
He exhaled, wiping the cold sweat that trickled down his temples. Kimberly tried to compose herself. Do I need to tell Nicholas what happened to me? Or should I just shut up?
