Jealous Again
The cold temperature of the meeting room did not affect Kimberly in the slightest, and the woman was even hotter and hotter. Instead of anything, she was lazy to look at today's client, who looked so intently seeking Nicholas and Edward's attention. Claudia Rosselinni, beautiful, blue eyes, wavy brown hair. Her tall stature makes her more suited to be a model. She was aged about 28-29 years. The only child of a conglomerate who owns a gold and oil mining business from Singapore. She recently plans to invest 250 million USD for a condotel and resort development project in the Maldives.
Feeling that this was a golden opportunity, Nicholas and Edward tried their best to make the signing of the MOU of cooperation run smoothly and immediately. Since this morning, they have been discussing the construction project so that an agreement can be reached immediately.
"I think this will be a promising mega project in the future. After hearing all the presentations and explanations that Mr.Edward gave, I am increasingly convinced to sign a cooperation agreement." Claudia said confidently. Her beautiful face seemed to shine perfectly in the sunlight that slipped in from behind the meeting room glass.
Edward, who sat across from him, gave a smile. "We hope that this project can be implemented soon. If possible, it will start next week. We have prepared the entire team carefully to work on the development to the marketing at a later date."
"Yes, I agree with Edward," added Nicholas. "The sooner, the better." he continued later. Claudia nodded in agreement. "Then I'll sign the agreement now." The woman grabbed the folder Kimberly had given her, which contained an agreement letter between the two parties.
After she signed, it was Nicholas's turn to take the agreement letter and sign it.
"Deal, hopefully, this cooperation can run smoothly." Claudia stretched out her hand and was immediately greeted by Nicholas. Claudia smiled. "I also hope that the day after tomorrow, Mr. Nicholas can go to the Maldives with me to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the new condotel location," asked Claudia, still shaking hands with Nicholas.
Nicholas smiled back at Claudia. "Of course, with pleasure. I can't even wait to visit and inspect the construction project site in person." Nicholas couldn't stop smiling at Claudia. The man even acted warmly like a friend he had known for a long time. This, of course, did not go unnoticed by Kimberly.
I swear to god Zeus, See what Nicholas did?
How could he be as sweet as he is now?
Do I need to pay 250 million USD in advance so that he continues to be this nice and pleasant to me?
Kimberly sighed in annoyance. She even felt that Nicholas had ignored her, who had been feeling embarrassed all this time—not even looking up at her. Not to mention Claudia, who has openly shown her interest in Nicholas. Like now.
"Then I'll excuse myself first. It looks like we've finished everything. Hopefully, this project goes smoothly as planned," said Claudia as she got up from her seat.
Meanwhile, Nicholas nodded in agreement and got up too. "We hope so too. Then, see you the day after tomorrow in the Maldives, Miss Claudia." Once again, Nicholas shook Claudia's hand. However, just as she was about to let go of his handshake, the woman held back for a moment. "Before tomorrow morning, I return to Singapore. I intend to invite Mr.Nicholas to attend a private dinner. There are still many discussions that we both have to talk about," offered Claudia. There was a tinge of hope in his words.
Damn it! Bitch.
What discussion do you want to talk about?
Everything is even clear. Let's say you want to tease Nicholas.
Unconsciously Kimberly pursed her lips. Keep cursing in her heart while watching the movements of the two people in front of her.
If you're not a big client, I can't guarantee that your brown hair will escape my grasp! Kimmy smiled wryly. Hoping Nicholas politely refuses small talk from Claudia. But he was very wrong.
"Of course," Nicholas replied confidently. Don't know how many times he smiled at Claudia. It made Kimberly even sicker to see him.
"Then see you tonight." Claudia and her assistant then left the meeting room. Leaving Nicholas, Edward, and Kimberly still faithfully sitting in their chairs.
"So you are leaving for the Maldives the day after tomorrow?" Edward asked as he compiled the sheet of an agreement he had just reread.
Nicholas looked straight at Edward. "Yeah, I guess I have to go alone." Edward crossed his arms in front of his chest. He was deliberately leaning his big body on the back of the chair. Three hours of chairing the meeting made him a little tired.
"I thought you would bring your secretary." Edward said as he looked at Kimberly, who seemed busy taking notes of the meeting. The woman herself chose to be indifferent and ignored the words of the two men in front of her.
Nicholas joined his arms in front of his chest. His eyes also looked at Kimberly. "Kimberly isn't going anywhere. She has to stay here taking care of all the work I've been out of for a few days. But that doesn't mean that you're free to bother her while I'm away, Ed. I won't let her."
***
Nicholas looks so handsome in the black slim-fit shirt he wore tonight. He looks relaxed, more like someone going on a date than attending a formal dinner with a business colleague. This made Kimberly even more annoyed. Sitting on the sofa while watching Korean dramas on television, Kimberly kept frowning and cursing in her heart, seeing Nicholas passing by in front of her.
"You want to go out to dinner or a date?" Kimberly investigated. Her eyes were busy exploring Nicholas's appearance all this time.
"So what?" Nicholas raised an eyebrow. A confused look was etched on his face now.
"Your appearance, Nick. Ah, never mind. Forget it." Kimberly hung her sentence. Not long after, he turned off the television and then got up and left Nicholas. But unexpectedly, the man followed his steps to enter the room.
"What else?" asked Kimberly. Now she looks confused.
Nicholas approached the position where Kimberly was standing. He brought his hands together, cupped her cheeks, and then briefly kissed her lips. "I should be the one asking what's wrong? Since this morning, your pretty face has looked sour. Is there something bothering you?"
Kimmy took a deep breath. It was clear in Nicholas's eyes. "I don't like seeing a client openly showing his interest in you this morning. Just so you know, if that woman gets over the top, I won't hesitate to kick her out of the room."
Nicholas chuckled at Kimberly's confession. Feeling exasperated, he again briefly kissed Kimberly's lips and cheeks. "So you're jealous, Mrs. Alistair?"
"I-me?" pointed Kimberly to herself. "I'm not jealous. It's just hot to see her behavior," said Kimberly.
Nicholas narrowed one eye. He was staring at Kimberly in disbelief. "Really? Aren't you jealous?"
Kimberly nodded confidently. "Why should I be jealous? After all, she is not comparable to me," she said arrogantly.
Nicholas chuckled again. He believed the woman in front of him was jealous. It's just too proud to admit. Making Nicholas even more irritated and then pinching Kimberly's nose gently.
"Yes, Claudia is not comparable to you. But she is not bad either. A normal man would admit that he was beautiful and close to perfect. I felt that too," said Nicholas bluntly.
"Gosh! So you're interested in him?"
Nicholas shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, and maybe I can answer your question after returning from the Maldives."
Fed up, Kimberly pushed Nicholas's body away from her. "You'd better go now. Isn't there a dinner appointment with that near-perfect woman?" Kimberly quipped openly. While Nicholas did not obey, instead, he pulled Kimberly's body back and hugged her tightly.
"Grumpy bastard!" ridicule Nicholas. Meanwhile, Kimberly tried to struggle to get out of Nicholas's arms, but she lost power to the man. Instead of letting go, his body was getting closer and closer. "I've been ready since earlier. It's just that the dinner partner looks relaxed and even seems indifferent," said Nicholas.
Kimberly looked up at Nicholas. Her brow furrowed at the man's words. "You mean? If Claudia is old, why don't you call her."
Nicholas shook his head. "Not Claudia, my dinner partner. But you're Kimberly Aurora." The man spoke casually. Meanwhile, the woman in front of him looked more and more confused as she digested the words he said one by one.
Nicholas directed his hand to lift Kimberly's chin. Staring deeply and then directing his lips to kiss the two cheeks of his beloved woman until satisfied. The next second he spoke again.
"Yes, Kimberly Aurora Alistair. I want to ask you out on a date tonight. Will you come with me?" Please, Nicholas earnestly.
"You are crazy!" cursed Kimberly.
"Gosh, Kimberly, how can you call me crazy. I'm even trying so hard to be romantic in front of you." Nicholas snorted in annoyance. He thought Kimberly would melt or answer with words that were no less sweet. But lo and behold, the woman even called him crazy.
Kimberly chuckled. "Of course you're crazy. Why didn't you say you wanted to take me out earlier? You teased me with all your annoying words!"
Nicholas smiled. "I'm just glad to see you jealous of me. I thought I'd just been the only one who didn't like seeing you around other men."
"You stupid!" cursed Kimberly once again. "I'm a normal woman. Where would a woman want her fiance to be disturbed by others? You've been the one who's been insensitive all this time. But by the way, if you go with me, then who will accompany Claudia to dinner?"
"Of course, Edward. Who else? He was even so happy when I asked him to take my place tonight. After all, it's a waste of time to attend such small talk dinners."
Not wanting to waste any more time, Nicholas immediately pushed Kimberly's body into the walk-in closet. He gestured for her to hurry up and get ready to go out to dinner with him.
