Are You Okay?
"How about it, Nicholas. Is there any news regarding Kimberly?"
Edward asked as he and Nicholas were at a restaurant this afternoon. After meeting with one of the clients outside the office, they decided to go to lunch together first.
Nicholas, who had just finished ordering food, leaned back against the shoulder of the chair. He took a deep breath and then slowly shook his head in response to Edward's question.
"I'm having a hard time finding Kimberly's whereabouts. I don't know if it was her who went to a hard-to-reach place, or it was Marco who put up super tight security," Nicholas replied. The expression on his face could be seen clearly that he was frustrated right now. "You know, Ed. I've never been this desperate. I feel like I just want to die," Nicholas said, then he took a quick sip of the cup of coffee in front of him.
"Gosh, you stupid man!" Edward snorted in annoyance. "If you die, then who will fight for Kimberly? Your spirit in hell, that?" Edward grumbled. "Are you willing to just let the woman you love marry another man? I see, do you want?" Edward hollered with so many questions.
At the same time, Nicholas chose to remain silent, looking straight out the window. Edward crossed his arms over his chest. Please take a moment to think about what to do, let alone help his friend. Nicholas had fallen a few years ago. He was sure the pain and disappointment that the man had experienced were so imprinted. But seeing Nicholas so lost and hopeless, Edward admitted this for the first time.
Edward himself understood. There must have been so many things Nicholas was thinking about. Fortunately, during a meeting with a previous client, the man could concentrate so that things didn't happen. He also realized that Nicholas was so stupid that he doubted a woman as good as Kimberly. Even though he had repeatedly warned her to guard her feelings, his best friend still sucks. Having known each other for so long that they lived under the same roof, why did Nicholas realize that he loved Kimberly so much at the last second?
Edward took a deep breath. He was trying to understand Nicholas's seemingly chaotic state now. "Looks like you really need to ask Hans for help," Edward suggested.
Nicholas turned his gaze to Edward. "I'll consider it later. You heard yesterday that Hans was helping Kiano in London. Hopefully after this the detective I've hired will give me some good news."
"I hope so," Edward said. After that, they both chose to spend lunch in silence. After lunch, Nicholas decided to go straight back to the apartment. He felt his mind was perplexed and needed time to rest for a while.
Thinking about Kimberly was a bit draining on his brain. Driving leisurely, Nicholas finally arrived and headed straight for his apartment unit. However, he was suddenly ambushed by several prominent people just as he entered. Somehow they can freely enter.
"Who, you guys?" cried Nicholas. Both of his hands were tightly locked by the big guys. At first, Nicholas tried to fight with all his might. But because he was outnumbered, he finally chose to give up and surrender to what the people ordered him to do.

This morning, Marco and Arthur's entire concentration was focused on Kimberly. After it was reported that his condition was critical, the team of doctors immediately checked and treated him. According to information, Kimberly's blood pressure and heart rate had weakened. Luckily, after taking action, Kimberly's condition gradually improved.
The treating doctor has even returned from the operating room.
"How is Kimberly doing, doc?" Arthur asked anxiously.
The doctor first removed the mask covering his face. "Miss Kimberly's condition is stable. Her blood pressure and heart rate have returned to normal," the doctor explained.
"Thank goodness ..." Arthur and Marco breathed a sigh of relief at the same time.
"But..." the doctor said again.
"But what, doc?" now it was Marco's turn to ask.
"...Last time, Miss Kimberly kept repeating Nicholas's name before finally regaining consciousness. Is that a relative? Or a close friend?"
Arthur's brow furrowed deeply.
"Nicholas? Who's Nicholas?" Arthur asked Marco.
Marco took a deep breath. "I'll tell grandpa later."
"So what should we do, doc?" Marco asked the doctor again.
"My advice, it's better for you to ask the person mentioned to come here. Who knows his presence will help Miss Kimberly's recovery process."
Marco nodded in agreement. "Okay, doc. Thanks for the information."
After the doctor left, Arthur sat back in the waiting chair. The man's gaze at Marco suggested he was waiting for something to be explained. As if he understood, Marco took a position to sit next to the old man. "This is Nicholas, to be precise, Nicholas Alistair." Marco handed over his cellphone, intending to show Arthur a photo. He deliberately kept the man's image since he found out that Kimberly lived at Nicholas's house.
Arthur grabbed Marco's cell phone and looked at the photo on it. "Who exactly is he?" Arthur asked. His curiosity was so great now.
"According to an informant I assigned some time ago, Nicholas is the son of Robert Alistair, a British conglomerate. He is now the CEO of AlpaBeta, replacing Jacob Grey, who is managing their London subsidiary."
Arthur nodded, then asked again, "Then what is the relationship between Nicholas and Kimberly?" he asked, confused.
Marco took a deep breath then answered. "Kimberly is Nicholas's private secretary. Not only that, recently, they had a severe relationship. They even had an engagement in London," Marco said at length.
Arthur gasped in surprise. His face turned to look at Marco's. He did not expect his granddaughter to get engaged to another man he did not know. According to him, in this world, only Marco is worthy of accompanying Kimberly. He was the only man who understood and could best protect and protect Kimberly from all kinds of dangers.
"Then what about Kimberly?" Arthur asked, increasingly curious. "Kimberly seems to love that man, Opa. But recently, they fought. It made what Kimberly said, and she decided she didn't want to see that man again. In essence, Nicholas made Kimberly quite hurt."
Arthur growled in annoyance. He was unwilling to see the grandson he loved being toyed with by others. Whoever it is, without exception. "So, do you think we should call that rancid brat?" Asked Arthur. It looks like he should ask Marco for advice.
Marco thought for a moment. Considering all the possibilities if he ordered the man to come over to Singapore. Should I take the man with me? However, Kimberly once said she didn't want to see Nicholas again.
"Marco, what do you think?" Arthur asked again. They had to decide for Kimberly's sake quickly. This time Marco took a deep breath.
"Let me take care of everything. Opa sits here quietly praying for Kimberly's condition to get better soon."

Arthur sat on the sofa in one corner of the hospital's VIP room. He was still faithfully waiting for Kimberly, who had not yet regained consciousness after his surgery. While waiting, it seemed a man walked slowly but surely towards him from a distance. Until not long, the man finally sat right next to Arthur. He showed an attitude like a confused person. Arthur smiled coldly at the man.
"Your name is Nicholas Alistair?" Arthur brought his eyes, scrutinizing Nicholas's appearance and head to toe. Trying to assess the man's personality. Nicholas nodded awkwardly.
"Yes, I'm Nicholas Alistair. Who are you? What was the need to bring me here?"
Nicholas, of course, was still confused. Just coming home, he was suddenly ambushed by an unknown person. Taking and forcing him to board a private jet and then go to a place he did not know. Only after getting off the plane did he realize he was in Singapore.
But what made him even more surprised was why he was taken to a hospital and now had to meet an old man he didn't know. Arthur didn't smile this time. His face turned flat.
"I'm Arthur Sanjaya, Grandpa from Kimberly Aurora."
Nicholas gasped. During this time, he often heard the man's name. But the meeting, let alone face to face, just this time. Nicholas's heart skipped a beat. He did not expect to meet Kimberly's grandfather in this condition. That means Arthur sent some big guys to pick up Nicholas. But for what?
"What do you need, do you want to see me, Grandpa?" asked Nicholas. He was nervous now.
Arthur Sanjaya snorted.
"Granpa? Since when did I marry your Grandma? Don't make it clear that my grandson likes you, then you call me grandpa."
Nicholas was stunned. "Sorry Mr Arhur, I d-didn't mean to offend you," Nicholas stuttered. The old man pissed him off.
Arthur Sanjaya patted Nicholas's shoulder so hard that the man coughed from the pain. He then laughed softly and then replied. "Don't worry about it. I'm quite a generous person. Even though I'm actually very angry that you dare to hurt my grandson."
Nicholas was made even more uncomfortable. He is at fault here. It was pretty appropriate for the old man to scold him. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt Kimberly in the least bit." beg Nicholas earnestly.
"Do you know that Kimberly has been matched with the man of my choice?"
Nicholas just shook his head weakly. He didn't know anything about Kimberly. So many secrets she kept from him.
"Do you also know that currently Kimberly has just had surgery and her condition was critical a few hours ago?"
Again Nicholas gasped. Finally, he understood why he was suddenly taken to the hospital. "Then how is Kimberly now? Was the operation successful? Is she conscious now?"
Nicholas was made anxious. "What do you care about Kimberly's condition? If it's not urgent, I also don't want to bring you together with my grandson."
Arthur's eyes flashed with anger. He still didn't want Kimberly to be saddened by the man sitting beside her. Nicholas rose from his seat, and then, unexpectedly, the man knelt right in front of Arthur.
"Please forgive me. Please allow me to meet Kimberly. Just once." Nicholas asked earnestly. Arthur sighed in frustration.
On the one hand, he still felt annoyed, but on the other hand, he had to meet Kimberly with the man in front of him immediately. Inevitably, he accepted Nicholas's apology.
"Get up!" Arthur's orders. "This time I will allow you to meet Kimberly. After my grandson wakes up, you must promise not to see him again."
"But---"
"No buts!" Arthur cut in quickly. "Your choice is yes or nothing." he continued later.
Nicholas was about to protest at first. But on second thought, he couldn't refuse Arthur's orders. He's a nobody here. For that, he chose to agree with what the old man ordered.
"Fine, I agree. Now let me see Kimberly." After the request was made, a nurse approached Nicholas and led him to enter the room where Kimberly was lying immediately. Nicholas's brown eyes immediately turned to Kimberly, who was lying weakly on the bed, entering the room. Without a second thought, he quickly walked over to her.
Nicholas immediately grabbed Kimberly's wrist. Holding tightly and even occasionally kissing the back of Kimberly's hand. Hoping from the touch he gave, the woman felt it and then woke up from her temporary sleep.
"Kimberly..." Nicholas whispered softly and affectionately. "Wake up honey, I'm here." after that, Nicholas immediately kissed Kimberly's right and left cheeks lightly. But the woman remained unmoved. Shows no change at all. Nicholas took a deep breath. Almost in despair when he tried to wake Kimberly up, but the woman gave no response. Nicholas's two tears fell down his cheeks.
Seeing Kimberly's current condition made his heartache. There were so many things that Kimberly had hidden from him, including the woman's disease.
Stupidly, Nicholas even had time to be rude until Kimberly chose to leave him.
"I'm sorry, Kimberly. I'm sorry, I." Nicholas continued to recite the sentence while kissing the back of Kimberly's hand.
Desperate, he brought his face closer and kissed Kimberly's forehead and lips gently. It was long enough until he realized that the woman's eyelashes were moving, indicating that her consciousness was starting to return. Nicholas quickly ran to find the nurse on duty to check on Kimberly's condition. While Kimberly was being examined again, Nicholas could only wait outside the room.
While waiting, Arthur, who was sitting quietly, now approached him and spoke. "Your time is up, now you can leave here."
"But, Kimberly just---"
"Take this man away!" Arthur ordered the guards who had previously taken Nicholas to the hospital. "Give me one more chance, I want to see Kimberly come to her senses," Nicholas begged.
Arthur didn't care. He waved his right hand, signalling for the guards to quickly take Nicholas away from him.
