Go-to approach
83. Go-to approach
🤍🖤💜 Jacob 💜🖤🤍
Once I tasted her last night, I couldn’t control myself. It was like a switch flipped inside me. After spending entire night together, I should feel sated. But I want more and more of her. Touching her… Making love to her… felt so right, as if every part of her was made to fit in with me.
This night was a surprise for me too. It’s like I walked a hundred miles since last evening and I am a changed man. I go downstairs after getting ready and hear Natalie talking on the phone.
“Don’t you ever do that again!” She hisses to someone and puts down the phone.
“Who is getting your wrath on this lovely morning?”
She smiles and says without meeting my eyes. “It was Ira.”
“Ok,” I say. But I don’t believe her.
Natalie doesn’t realize that she is a terrible liar.
It nags me sometimes. On such occasions, I remind myself we barely started dating three weeks ago. With time, we will open up and trust each other better.
“See, I can cook too!” She chirps and shows me a sandwich on a plate, decorated in High-end restaurant style. Two little triangles with a streak of ketchup on the side and a parsley leaf on top.
I chuckle and take a bite. “It’s just bread and cheese!” I say, amused.
She rolls her eyes and says, “Bread and cheese is the definition of a sandwich!”
“This isn’t cooking! This is just cheese and bread!” I point out.
“You want it or not?” She says, trying to snatch the plate away from me.
I grab her around the waist with one arm and stuff the sandwich in my mouth with another hand.
“You will choke and die!!” she exclaims.
I chuckle silently, trying to chew the sandwich while she grumbles.
…..
When we leave for school, Natalie hides in the front seat.
“Do you want me to lock you in dicky?” I offer when she tries to hide better.
After last evening’s narrow escape, she doesn’t want to risk anything. To be honest, I don’t want to risk it either.
“No… I am fine here,” she pouts at me.
When I pass the school behind, she exclaims, “Are you seriously kidnapping me?”
I chuckle and cock my brow at her. “Do you have the energy to attend school today?”
“Noooo… But I don’t want to stay in a hotel room with you either... I will die of exhaustion Jacob!” She says with wide eyes.
I burst out in laughter.
“Oh, God! Natalie... You could have told me last night!”
She bites her lips and then mumbles, “Why would I… when I didn’t want you to stop…”
I take a deep breath to stop myself from going hard again. I park the car in a nearby public park. We find a shaded spot under a tree to spread the blanket I brought with us. We lay there and fall asleep.
…..
After a few hours, I wake up and see Natalie is studying next to me. It’s a beautiful sight, with birds chirping and leaves falling around. I stretch and push her books away to put my head in her lap.
She smiles and holds me, stroking my hair.
“Didn’t you sleep?”
The weather is pleasant. Slightly hot, but it’s better than attending school.
“I woke up a half-hour ago… I think we should leave for school. We have been skipping too many classes.”
I almost roll my eyes. We barely skipped one class. Although we were late for many. Natalie’s face always reddens when we enter the class late. Probably it reminds her why we are late to class at first place. My stomach growls, and I glance at my watch.
“Let’s grab some lunch somewhere first.”
“Yeah, I am hungry too.”
We walk into a nearby diner. A pretty and cheerful server welcomes us, “Hey!! My name is Rosy. I will be your server today!” She hands me a menu and gives us time to choose.
I ask Natalie, ”What would you like to eat?”
“Don’t they have an extra menu?” Natalie glances towards the counter and gets up to grab one for herself.
“Don’t you want me to order for you?” I tease her.
She chuckles and says, “How much I can lean to see your menu!” We are sitting opposite each other and the table is too wide.
“I got myself one. So no problemos!!” she adds grinning.
I order a Rooster Salad and Natalie orders Nacho Deluxe, saying she isn’t much hungry. I squint my eyes at her. “How many sandwiches did you eat before I came downstairs?”
She grins. “Manyyyy….”
Soon enough, Rosy brings us our food and asks me, placing her hand on my bicep. “Anything else?”
I glance at her hand and then her face. “No. Thanks, we are all good.”.
Natalie points out her food is wrong. She takes a while to bring the correct order. We ate our food in silence afterwards. For a small diner, the place has pretty good hospitality. Rosy asks us many times if we are comfortable or if we need anything else. But Natalie doesn’t seem to like the place.
Probably she doesn’t like the server not giving us enough privacy to talk.
Out of the blue Rosy gives me a compliment, “Your eyes remind me of the sweetest chocolate.”
I look at her face, trying to understand if the compliment was for me. Yes, it was for me. She is talking to me.
“Jeez, he is my boyfriend. Stop flirting already!” Natalie says, and Rosy’s smile drops.
“Bring us the bill, please,” Natalie adds as she walks away from us.
“Relax… It was just a compliment.” I say softly to Natalie.
But I can tell she is annoyed. Natalie pays the bill. When we walk out, our server, Rosy, says to me, “Thanks a lot for the tip. Come here again!”
“Well, I was the one who paid the bill and tipped you. So, you are welcome!” Natalie says bluntly to her and walks out of the restaurant.
.......
On the way to school, I contemplate if I should out Natalie for her rudeness or not. It’s something Sadie did very often, and I regretted not pointing it out when we were early in our relationship. Her possessive behavior irked me and it’s one of my worse nightmares.
“There was no need to be rude to her,” I say when we reach the school and I turn off the car in parking lot.
“She deserved it,” Natalie says dryly.
I do not like this attitude.
“Don’t tell me you are the possessive kind, Natalie. Because that’s not my type.”
She looks at me, flabbergasted.
“She was outright flirting with you while completely ignoring me… “She defends herself.
“It still doesn’t justify being rude to her..”
“Seriously!” Natalie exclaims. “It’s easier to say when you are not the one being unjust. “
I pinch my brow in frustration. How am I supposed to take my stand if she doesn’t even realize she is wrong?
I try to keep myself calm and tell her in a low voice, “Does it mean you would be a bitch to anyone who ignores you? Don’t tell me this is your go-to approach.”
Her face hardens. She opens the car door and walks away.
