Her mother inlaw Mrs Brown, had never liked her and was always interested in anything negative about her. After their wedding she managed to visit them only once. During her visit she had done nothing but caused trouble for the newly Weds, and that made Dave ask the mother to leave the house, she had swore never to visit them again, and even when she heard they had a son that died, she still didn't visit the house.
She showed her she hated her, even during their wedding, she still did not try to pretend, she showed it to her, her friends that came could see that the woman was not happy, that her son was getting married to her, she wish she could change his mind, but Dave was determined to be with her.
Mrs Brown was shocked at Josh's outburst he had never seen him so angry, he must have something interesting to share with her, Josh had been like a son to her, she practically raised him as he always had most of his meals at her place and she would always allow him past the night at the family house most of the time.
She was well aware of his love for Dave, he loved Dave like a brother and would rather die than see Dave get hurt, but he had stood by Dave when he wanted to get married to Amanda against her wish, which only means his loyalty and love lies with whatever Dave chooses, so for him to be this angry with the same woman he supported his friend to marry only means something was amiss.
And he said something too, yes he said something about a bastard child, was she pregnant again, if yes while was Josh calling it a bastard child, unless of course it wasn't Dave's.
She smiled at the revelation in front of her and dialed a number. She was telling the person to come as soon as possible, if the person was free, she also called Dave's brother Frank who promised to be at the hospital the moment he was closed from work, she called Dave's oldest brother who was outside the country and narrated the story.
She could never miss the chance to call all those she thought had supported Dave in making a grave decision, and she was never going to allow this chance to mock her sleep by.
"Oh Dave,
She Cried.
"I warned you against her but you would never listen, I knew she was a good for nothing, I knew she was not meant for you, and mean no good for you, but you wouldn't listen, you were too busy fooling around with her.
Amanda wished the ground would open and swallow her, she was surely going to die anytime soon if nobody comes for her, she looked around and everybody was throwing dagger stare at her, but her father inlaw's look was calm but one could tell he wasn't happy with the drama his face was down and he had been calm all through. He didn't seem to be surprised at the news of her carrying a bastard, he sure looked different, she saw no one was going to support her this time, not even Sonia.
She looked at Josh for the second time since his initial outburst and wished to strangle him.
He had pretended to like her only because things were cool between she and Dave, he would always praise her and visit from time to time for free foods. When she lost her baby and was at the hospital he had told Dave to go home so that he could stay with her for the night, but all that wasn't for her, it was for Dave, he was looking out for Dave, he wasn't really anybody's friend and would never please anyother person if he feels it would displease Dave, her face darkened as she stared at him, she had enough already, if they wanted to kill her then fine, if they needed her out of Dave's life, then she was willing to leave him, but she wanted to be sure he was ok first, and he would not leave his sight, till he confirms he was ok and would also not divorce him unless he wanted her out of his life.
She was still thinking how her husband was injured and there was not one person in the hospital consoling her then the realization struck her, everybody around her now was supposed to be her family if only they loved her, if only the situation was different, if only she was not mysteriously pregnant. Then she remembered her brother had been calling her while she was at the cafe with Goodluck, so she quickly texted him, telling him what happened to Dave and begged him to come to the hospital if he had the chance, she also called her friend Joy whom she recently reunited with through Facebook.
When she left the area they used to live, none of them had a phone, so she could not get Joy's number, but she was happy,to find her using the same name on face book.
She shared the information of the other Joy, that had a C section, and they had planned to visit her, but then, they heard she travelled outside the country, and that was what delayed their meeting, but at the moment, she needed people to stand for her too, she was alone.
Few minutes later, they walked in through the door, She smiled broadly, as her brother walked in through the door, but then she was distracted also, as the the theater door also opened and everybody looked towards the door, demanding answer from the doctor that just came out.
He stared at every one, while adjusting his Stethoscope, his eye also seem to be watered, so he removed his glasses and wiped it clean, before putting it back on.
He seem to have worked so much in the theatre, so no one wanted to ask him anything, they all waited Every one was silent but Amanda spoke up forgetting every other thing.
