The meeting
By the time Amanda was through talking to Goodluck, she looked around to ensure no one had been listening to her all the while, and she was glad she saw no one, then she made her way back to the living room where she saw her brother, and friend clearing the dishes to take them to the kitchen. One could tell that she was really happy, she had the smile all over her face, she looked better, after speaking to Goodluck.
She had never known that her brother could be so domesticated, he was always too carefree back at the family house, and she was made to do the chores in the house but now her brother only seem to want to take care of her which was a good feeling. And now, knowing he had apologized to Goodluck and even wanted to meet up with him, only felt even better, she may not be with Goodluck as a partner, but the guilt she had felt all these years that she was the reason her brother lost a friend made her feel terrible.
"Max?
She called out to her brother and he turned around immediately as though he was scared, she looked at him sternly, but with gratitude, at first Maxwell thought she knew he had overheard her conversation with his friend, and was trying to rob on his face, but when he saw the gratitude on her face, the unspoken magic word, he knew she was thankful that he and Goodluck were finally planning to sort things out.
Joy finished packing and came towards the duo, they were looking at each other as if they were about to kiss, but she knew better so she immediately interrupted their thought.
"Well guys, I have to start going now, I will try and visit again tomorrow or the day after that. Please try and take care of yourself, do not over think about this and make sure you do not allow anybody bully you or make you cry" she was speaking like an older sister to her, and for once, it felt good to be a baby sister.
Amanda smiled at her words and wondered how she was ever going to try and make people not bully her, when she was living in the Lion's den, everybody in the house was presently her enemy so how would she survive that, but she didn't want her to worry so she nodded in agreement, they hugged each other, while she bows to her brother and left.
Now brother and sister were left alone, and Amanda summoned all her courage to break the silence.
"Thank you, so much Max"
Max knew why she was saying thanks, but decided to act dumb.
"Thanks for what?
"For being my brother, and my friend, you have made me happy today, not just once or twice or thrice but you have also fulfilled my desire"
"Which is?
"To see you make up with Goodluck"
He knew that was where she was going to, but wasn't expecting her to be so bold infront of him, but he was happy she was beginning to open up to him like an older brother. He still had his doubt though about her mystery pregnancy, somewhere in his heart he feels Goodluck may be responsible, but doesn't know how to say it now that the issue was a problem, but he didn't want to be angry about that, after all he was the only person that makes his sister truelly happy, especially now that their mother was sick at the hospital, he needed to be here for his sister, and if it meant taking her away from this family that didn't value her, then he wouldn't mind but he wants to be sure of Goodluck's feeling for his sister.
"I know you still love him Amanda, don't lie to me, I won't scold you, as a matter of fact I feel bad for separating you too, but now I know better. Please forgive me" Amanda opened her mouth in shock.
Her brother was Apologising to her? She would have thought this was another spin of the head, but this was sure a grown up man, and it even made him look a lotore handsome.
This must be the doing of a woman. Amanda concluded, because there was no way, her brother could change over night.
Maybe I didn't hear well". She muttered
No way, her brother couldn't be asking her for forgiveness, What will she forgive him for,? Even back then, he was a wonderful brother, he only did things, that a reasonable brother would do.
Why should he apologise? when she was the one who acted like a slut and would always force the guy to take her to bed. She remembered how she was forcing Goodluck to take her to bed, once they kissed for a while and would not keep their hands away from each other, she even saw his hard erected manhood, but he still refused to do anything with her. At a point, she felt like he didn't find her so attractive, but he would always tell her that he was keeping her for the future.
She was the one who was drooling over the guy even before he took notice of her. It was all her, and she was the one to apologise.
"Please do not apologise brother, you were only protecting me. You did what big brother's would normally do, you should please not make me feel bad by apoligising, I am the one that should apologise. Please forgive my childish behavior back then" she said, and he nodded in agreement.
"Well you guys were really childish, playing hide and seek with me" He agreed, and they both smiled.
Really really childish he added".
He added and she let out a laugh. She was happy they were getting along, she wondered why her parents weren't at her house yet, she knew they must have heard about what was happening by now, since her brother was aware then her parents were fully aware, so she decided to ask.
