Meeting Goodluck
Amanda moved from the dinning to have some privacy before calling Good luck
When the phone started ringing, her heart started beating, as if she had not called him before.
"Hey! She said as soon as he picked the call, and he responded using the same time.
"Hey!
She smiles, as she got the same response and they both became silent again, both enjoying just hearing the unspoken words from the sound their breathe was making.
"How is Dave? He asked, pretending not to know anything, but he already got all the Information in needs from what happened at the hospital, to those at the hospital.
" He is fine, he is with his family now, they will take good care of him". She replied, trying to hold herself from crying.
Even though Goodluck could hear a different sound from her.
She sounded like she was going to cry, but she was trying very hard to suppress the urge to cry and throwup at the same time. Pregnancy was indeed the hardest job ever.
"Are you okay?
His question killed her, she wasn't facing him, yet he could tell she was not okay, he knew her too well.
"I am trying to be Goody, everybody thinks it's crazy that I keep claiming I don't know how I got pregnant, I am also tired of saying it, I wish I had a different answer"
Don't worry about what to say to people, they are not worth the time, they will always believe what they want, no matter what you say to them". He paused for a while, then asked, in a really calm tone.
now have you eaten?
"Yes Joy prepared something for me and Maxwell" She said, and the name Joy sounded familiar to him, he is not wrong, she is one of the girls from the area, where they lived, she is one of those friends of Amanda, that he didn't get to meet, and that was because they were not openly dating.
She added her brother, because she knew the rift between those two, and she knew he wanted to talk about it since her brother had answered the call earlier, but he didn't know how to say it.
"Oh that's good, so did you rest well, your brother said you were sleeping when I called earlier"
Yes I did, thank you so much Goody, I don't deserve all you are doing, I hurt you, yet you have shown me so much care, thank you very much" She was indeed grateful, but Goodluck was not feeling very comfortable with her thanking him.
"Now if you thank me again I would never call you back" He threatened.
That was so Goodluck, always trying to be too modest, she smiled knowing he was only joking, how could he threaten her with calls.
" If you don't call me, I will come to your house everyday to cause a scene"
Goodluck was shocked, he didn't think she could do that, because he never really dated her in the open, while they dated, it was all insecret but once his ex girlfriend Linda had walked in on them kissing, and had said awful things to her, Goodluck had been shocked to see how the little Amanda had demonstrated possessiveness, she had lashed back at Linda, and gave her a piece of her medicine telling her she never wanted to see her anywhere close to her man ever again. Goodluck had been so impressed that he wanted to just marry her at once. He smiled at the thought of her coming to cause a scene if he didn't call her.
"Well I wouldn't want people to think I am so wicked to be maltreating a pregnant woman"
It was a joke, she was supposed to laugh at, but she was only reminded that she wasn't that flexible or free and for what it's worth she was carrying a fatherless baby. Sensing her silence, Goodluck knew he shouldn't have said what he said so he quickly apologized.
" I am sorry, that didn't come out right"
"No don't be, just that I hate been reminded of my growing stigma, I just want to forget, I want to wake up one day and find out it had all been a dream.
"Don't worry, Amy, it would be over soon. He was trying to encourage her, that seem like what she needed to hear at the time.
"How could you be so sure? She asked, wanting more words of encouragement.
"I have people working for me, they are already in your case, don't worry this mystery would be unraveled soon"
Maxwell was listening, he could even hear Goodluck's voice, he was surprised that they were so into each other that they even forgot to talk about him, was he so unimportant to them that they wouldn't waste time talking about him, he wanted to know what they thought of him, as if hearing his thought out loud, Amanda asked.
"Hope my brother didn't insult or get you angry when he took my call?
"Oh no, he wasn't, he was actually very nice, he even apologized and said he would like us to meet"
Now even Maxwell was shocked, how could Goodluck be such a big mouth, did he have to tell his sister that, couldn't he just be a man and keep it to himself?
Amanda was shocked at the sudden realization, she had initially thought her brother had been involved in an acident which affected his memory, and she was hoping to enjoy her brother before he regains his memory back, but now, it was obvious he didn't loose any, that means her brother had indeed grown.
"He did what?
She asked not believing what she just heard.
"Well I was surprised too, but I know it was about time, he needed to know I don't hold any grudge against him, and had forgiven him a long time ago"
Maxwell was indeed happy with what he heard and released a breath he didn't know he was holding.
"So are you going to meet him?
"I wanted to ask you first, if it was alright with you? Seeking her permission, before he would give his answer, made her feel special, she smiled before responding.
"I think you should meet with him, he has been really different since he walked into the hospital, he has been too wonderful, unbelievable wonderful, and I fear something is off about him, just meet him and tell me your findings okay?
"Goodluck could only smile, it felt so right to talk to her freely and even knowing her brother had told her to call him only made him feel happy, also hearing he was nice to his sister also made him happy, because, he needed everybody to take care of Amanda.
He could tell her marriage was on the verge of breaking up, and he wouldnt miss the chance to catch her when she falls. He had always known they were fated together. He was ready to even father the child in her womb.
"Alright then, tell him to call me with his number. He was going to have to call him, not the other way around, it is only when he calls him, that he would know that he is serious with wanting his forgiveness.
