Hello.
Amanda got home and felt good about how the day had turned out, she knew it wouldn't have been possible if Dave hadn't been gentle with her, she remembered the look on her mother inlaw's face and the almighty Tracy, and she could only smile. Maybe been bold wasn't a bad thing after all.
"Thank you Joy, you have added something else to me". She exclaimed, as she jumped on the couch, smilling broadly.
Thinking about what she did again, she started laughing out loud.
She wasn't expecting Maxwell at home since today was the meeting day. He was meeting with Goodluck, she knew they needed that time with each other, and so she had decided not to followed him, even though she wished she could have a glimpse of the reaction from both sides.
They are more like lovers, or brothers as the case may be.
Maxwell had told her the day before, that he wanted to call Goodluck, so they could meet, she hadn't expected him to tell her, but she was glad he did, and she had only told him it was time for them to let go of the grudge, and hate and move on, which could only be done if they met and straightened things out. Maxwell had also asked her if she wanted to come with, but she had said No, that it was something they both needed to do on their own without involving her.
She also didn't want to be there, when they start quarelling, because she is sure that before two persons, who care about each other, settle their differences, they would or might end up quarelling first.
Yes they shouldn't involve her, after all when she had ran into Goodluck at the mall that fateful day, she hadn't thought about it, she wasn't even sure how that day would turn out, but she had given her best, to think that she had silently watched how her brother almost killed the man she claimed she loved, and she didn't do anything to help him, was unacceptable, as if that was not enough she didn't even visit him at the hospital, till he was discharged and changed location, and she moved to another state to finish her education.
Though she would have loved to do all she didn't do, but they didn't allow her, yet, it was no excuse for her to just watch him suffer alone, she should have fought for what she feels they have.
The guilt from that day hadn't left her, as she knew he would really hate her, though it wasn't really her fault, her brother had locked her up like a prisoner, and would always follow her to school till her departure was finalized, she didn't have any free time, but still she feels that wasn't enough reason.
She had seen movies where the Lady breaks out of whatever prison to find her love and have read books, that explains in details the sacrifices one has to make for the sake of love, but she had only claimed she loved him but at the very first sight of trouble she couldn't practice the love.
To love someone, is not just about saying it, it was more about sacrificing and compromising.
Meeting him again she was only able to say sorry, she continued to say she was sorry until they sat down and started talking.
He was the one doing most of the talking, he was rather very happy to see her, that he would always dismiss her apology with a wave of his hand.
"Oh please, can you just stop apologizing already, we cannot change what happened in the past, but I am glad you are okay, and I am also okay". She reverse him saying, as if what she did was acceptable.
He even reminded her that she was only a little girl at that time, and he should not have engaged her in issues of the heart at all.
That statement, made her feel like a little girl that didn't know anything, or what she wanted, she wanted to be angry, but when one is apologising, one have no reason, to get angry.
He knew she was only a teenager and could really not do much at the time, she was young and battling with her feelings.
He was glad he survived, even though the scar on his neck was a constant reminder of that day.
She closed her eyes tight, when she remembered the scar she saw, she wanted to touch it, but she could only raise her hand and stare at his neck.
"Does it hurt? She had asked him after staring at the scar for too long, and he was acting like he was not noticing where her eyes had been.
What? He asked, as if not knowing what she was referring to.
"I mean the scar on your neck, does it still hurt? She asked, looking at him with so much concern.
"Oh that, it doesn't hurt on my neck anymore, but it hurt in my heart (He said, placing his palm on his chest).
His statement, sent cold shiver down her spine, she felt gosse pimple all over her arms, that she had to massage it.
"I am sorry". Amanda told him again, but this time he smiles.
"That's enough silly, if you keep saying sorry, you might as well get your self hurt, to showe how sorry you are".
"I can do that, if that would make you forgive me". Amanda told him, but he dismissed her again.
"Stop it girl, I am not angry with you, I have forgiven you a long time ago, I cannot be angry with you for so long". He had told her.
Amanda nodded her head, to stop herself from thinking about that day, she met with him, she doesn't want to feel guilty anymore, she wants to believe he has forgiven them, and would not hold anything against her or her brother.
She wonders what they could be discussing.
Amanda wanted to call her brother to ask how things was going between them. Somehow she was scared they might get into a fight again.
She brought out her phone, and was about to call Goodluck, but stopped herself, she should really let them deal with the issue, if they would fight again, then she should let them, she just wanted them back as her family.
She waited patiently suppressing the urge to call either of them, as the minutes turned to hours, she forgot she was supposed to go to her mother, she grabbed her purse, and headed towards the door, she needed to distract herself, she was glad she didn't know their meeting point, else she would have probably gone there.
As she tried to get the handle of the door, her phone rang, she quickly stopped to get it, it was her brother Calling, she rushed at it.
"Hello?
