Where is Dave?

When the call was ended, Maxwell looked at his phone again, he was so scared to open his mouth and say anything in front of everyone. He had known something was wrong, since he didn't hear from her, but now it was confirmed, he looked around him, and swallowed hard.

Maxwell wasn't sure what to think or say at that time, he didn't want to scream in front of his mother who was looking too weak already, and was constantly having fever, he just looked at Goodluck and motioned for him to follow him leaving his mother who noticed the sudden change in him, but wasn't sure what it was so she  thought it must have something to do with work.

Maxwell had left his business to attend to her, and he had been working from home, he would even bring work to the hospital, he was always on the phone with his partners so that he could be well informed about what was happening.

Maxwell didn't know how to tell his friend about the news, but his friend already suspected that the call had something to do with Amanda, so he asked him without wasting anymore time.

"Is Amanda alright? Maxwell wondered how he knew it was Amanda's case, then he tried hard to speak, even he was having difficulty breathing, if anything were to happen to his sister, he would not forgive himself.

"It was all my fault, I should have gone home with her, we came together, and I left her to go home alone". He said, not directly answering his question, and so he asked again.

"Is Amanda alright? This time, Goodluck was getting really impatient.

"She was involved in an accident and was brought in here. The accident we learnt of earlier, is probably Amanda and another person". He added

"Please God no, they said it was fatal, so I don't think so, but as he  said it,  he tried to read him, they were thinking the same thing now, they had heard a man and a woman who was brought into the hospital, they had also heard the woman was pregnant, the nurses had said something about it, but they hadn't thought it was Amanda, though some of the nurses had recognized her as someone who visited frequently, but as she had never spent any night at the hospital they could not really tell about her relationship with the Cancer patient, so they waited until she was out of danger before they would inform them, but they saw the two handsome men approach the counter to question them, and even with the chaos and people rushing here and there,administering one thing or the other, carrying one thing or another from one place or the other, these group of nurses still had time to try to flirt with Goodluck and Maxwell, they couldn't even act modestly.

"Please the lady that was involved in an accident a while ago, where is she?

It was Goodluck who asked as he couldn't wait anymore to get his mind straight, he had even started calling Amanda's phone, but she wasn't taking his call which was unlike her.

If he had noticed something about her since they reunited it was her eagerness to hear from him, and whenever he calls it was always like she was waiting for his call, she would pick the call on the second ring itself or the first.

She is in ward 5 room 12"

One of the nurses answered, but knew it wouldn't be easy for them to locate it that easilly so she decided to try her luck and take them to the room herself, she eyed Maxwell seductively before moving forward.

They were in a hurry, they wanted her to move faster seeing how impatient they were but the nurse wasn't ready to oblige, she was more interested in swinging her hips infront of them.

Maxwell pretended like he didn't notice what was happening. He wasn't interested at all, the only person he was and is still interested in was not in the country, she wanted to further her education, career was too important for her, but Maxwell couldn't love her any less and was willing to wait.

Goodluck on the other hand was irritated at what the nurse was doing, and was tempted to push her away, but he held his cool.

Finally they reached the room and before she could try and open the door with all that movement she was making, Goodluck gently pushed her aside and opened the door, he was shocked to see that it was Amanda but she looked fine.

Her eyes were shut but as soon as she opened the door, she opened her eye, it was as though she could feel their presence because even the nurse attending to her was shocked, her eyes had been shut since she was brought in.

Amanda was expecting Dave to walk in through the door because when she regained consciousness she had heard someone call him, and she was really hoping that he would come.

He couldn't possibly want her dead? She was not too surprised to see Goodluck and Maxwell, but she wanted to see Dave.

After all, he had been discharged, and he was getting really better. But since he was no where to be found, she thought that he was probably not okay to get up yet, she blinked with disappointed, as she knew she was making excuses for him, she should know better, that even if he wanted to come and see her, the witch in the house, would not allow him. Who knows, maybe her mother inlaw, have also come back to the house.

She thought of Sonia, and wondered how she went from trusting her to not talking to her.

When she didn't see him around, she felt so disappointed, but she could do nothing but ask

"Where is Dave?

That was an unexpected question, but the nurse, that had escorted them in walked in, and touched her neck, to check her, because she seem to be acting weird, as if she doesn't know them.
