Misunderstanding
CHAPTER TWELVE
He closed his eyes tightly, tightly holding the ultrasound results and pregnancy test that he wanted to throw away but he stopped, and tried to calm himself so that anger would not build up in his chest. He tries to understand the situation and think before he gets angry with his wife.
Maybe I'm just wrong...
"Tell me," he said emphatically, stopping himself from raising his voice at Ariella again.
They got married less than a week ago, and it was only a month ago that they met. How is she two months pregnant?
Was she pregnant when they got married?...
Ariella approached, saying, "Give me some time to explain, honey butter." Then, she was about to hold Anton's hand, but he immediately moved his hand away.
His face was disfigured, but he still restrained himself. He wanted to know the truth first.
"You have your time to explain, Ariella. Make it clear to me," he said coldly without even looking at Ariella.
Ariella came closer, but Anton retreated, so she didn't come any closer to him anymore.
"Tell me, you are two months pregnant, aren't you?" Then, he gave Ariella a cold look.
Ariella shook her head, saying, "No, I am not pregnant, honey. You are wrong, my husband."
He handed the pregnancy test and ultrasound results to her, a sign that he was asking what they were.
"Why do you have these? How can you explain these to me?"
Stammering, "Tha-.... that's….—"
"You are pregnant with your ex-boyfriend's child? Are you?" Then he looked at her intently.
Ariella couldn't even speak. Her lips trembled at the words that wanted to escape from her mouth.
Constantly shaking her head, and trying to approach him while defending herself. Anton kept backing away whenever Ariella tried to approach him.
"No no no no, honey butter. You you you are wrong, honey." She keeps saying she's not pregnant, but Anton doesn't believe her.
"How can you explain these to me?" he asked, and threw the ultrasound results and pregnancy test at her. She immediately picked them up.
With so much frustration, he sat on the bed as if he had no life. He held his hands on his head and gently adjusted himself. He kept thinking about how it happened that she was two months pregnant when they had only known each other for a month.
Is it possible that her ex-boyfriend got her pregnant before they broke up? Or maybe his suspicions about Ariella were wrong?
"I thought you were the one," he said coldly. "I thought I will be a father now, finally," he laughed a little and there was a smile on his lips. "...but I was wrong. That child is not mine, can't be my child." Then the momentary smile on his lips disappeared. He still didn't look at Ariella.
Meanwhile, Ariella was watching him. He felt as if there was comfort in his chest.
"I'm not pregnant, honey." She finally spoke after a few moments of silence.
When Anton heard this, he gave Ariella a cold look, but he didn't say a word.
"I'm not pregnant, honey," she repeated. "These are not mine. My friend wants me to make a surprise event for her fiance. Her fiance didn't know she was pregnant with their first child. She wants me to set up everything," she explained then approached Anton.
Little by little, it became clearer to Anton. Ariella sat next to him and held his hands.
"Believe me, honey. I won't betray you. I can't." She didn't hear any response from Anton, so she still couldn't be complacent. "You trust me, don't you?"
Anton looked at her as if he was trying to read what his eyes were saying.
He trusted her a lot even if he wasn't sure if she is real or not. Not knowing why, he trusted her.
"Of course," he replied.
She took a deep breath and moved to her seat in front of him. She doesn't sit on the floor much.
"I'm not pregnant, okay? Remember? You were the first to snatch my dignity. I gave you my virginity."
Anton did remember that incident. Ariella even bled the first time they had sex. That means she was still a virgin when something happened between the two of them.
"Okay okay. I believe in you, but..."
She raised her brows while smiling, waiting for what he would say next.
He looked down at Ariella's body. He snorts and points to her body.
She immediately understood what Anton wanted to say.
She laughed as she stood up.
"I'm just going to get dressed first," she said because the towel was still wrapped over her naked body. It's the same with Anton who only has half of his body covered with a towel.
Ariella immediately got dressed and while she was still getting dressed, Anton took a shower again. It occurred to him that his grandmother would come to meet Ariella. He is excited to introduce Ariella to his grandmother.
Apart from that, it also occurred to him that his grandmother's standards were high, but he was satisfied that she would like his wife.
Ariella is beautiful. She has dark eyes, smooth skin, attracting lips, tall, and sexy. Ariella is also kind, and he will not look for anything else from Ariella.
Even though he hasn't told Ariella that his grandmother is coming tonight, he knows that she will be happy.
Only his grandmother and his younger brother are the only relatives left. His parents died in an accident and left him his only brother and their business, so since then he worked hard and had the courage until he became a successful businessman and built his own company and establishments.
"You're going to sleep now?" he asked openly when he came out of the bathroom.
Ariella lay on the bed wearing her pajamas.
"Yup."
"We have to go home, my wife. Get up and dress properly."
She yawned as she stretched her body. "I'm so sleepy and tired." Her eyes were open with excessive sleepiness.
"My grandmother is waiting for us. She wants to meet you, my wife," he said while busy getting dressed.
"Grandmother? Your grandmother wants to meet me?" he asked in complete surprise. Anton just nodded in response.
When she realized that Anton was serious about what he said, he hurriedly got dressed. The conflicting clothes are almost a mess because of the panic and excitement.
"Oh…oh…relax, honey. Don't rush," Anton said while picking up the clothes that had fallen on the floor.
Ariella stopped when she found a dress that would fit her. He took it and immediately put it on.
"The orange dress?"
