With her
CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
"Mini version?"
Anton nodded along with a smile. He was serious and it was obvious on his facial expression.
Ariella did not know how to tell him that she is not ready for that, so she remained silent.
Anton is waiting for her answer but she didn't know what to say. In addition to it, she doesn't want to talk about it. Many things are bothering her, so she can't be sure of Anton. If he is serious or just playing with her.
"What's wrong? You suddenly became speechless," he commented when he noticed her sudden reactions and behavior.
She shook her head, saying, "No-nothing."
Anton showed a warm smile on his face as he touched her cheek, caressing it.
"I'll wait for you until you're ready," he softly said.
She just smiled but didn't say a word because it occurred to her that she didn't know if she could be ready because of what she found out. She doesn't want to overthink but it's always hunting her mind.
After their late lunch, he invited her to go shopping but she doesn't want to.
He noticed something. "Is there something wrong? Do you have a problem?" he asked.
She shook her head but remained silent.
Anton didn't believe her because he can see through her eyes and actions that there is. She just doesn't want to tell him but it is obvious to her.
"Come on. I know there is. Tell me so that I can help you."
She suddenly said in her mind that 'You are the source of my problem. How could you make me bothered by those things?'
She doesn't say anything. She just looked at him as her mind continued to spin.
"Are you okay? What do you want?" he asked softly.
'Stay away from her.' That's what she said in her mind that she couldn't tell Anton. Maybe she is not ready for what will happen.
"Do you want to take a rest?"
She just nodded. She prefers to rest instead of thinking.
"I just want to sleep," she said.
He led Ariella to the room. When she was lying down, he covered half of her body with a blanket so that she wouldn't get cold.
"Is it okay if I leave for a while? I will go to store for a while."
She quickly replied, "Okay."
He kissed her on the forehead before he left. As he said, he went to the store to buy foods for her. He bought fresh vegetables and fruits.
He suddenly thought of making Ariella some soup.
While he was waiting at the counter, his phone suddenly rang. When he grabbed it from his pocket, he saw Cindy calling.
He answered it. According to their conversation, she was planning to go to the grocery store. She said she wanted to learn to cook for her fiance. Anton agreed and lost his mind that he had to return immediately not only because Ariella is waiting for his return but also because of veggies and fruits.
He picked up Cindy opposite the waiting shed.
While driving, Cindy suddenly asked a question.
"Does your wife know about us?"
He was confused by her question. He didn't look at Cindy because his attention was focused on driving.
"About us? There is no us," he answered.
She laughed a little at his answer. Because that's not what she meant and she knows that he misunderstood what she said.
"I mean that we are talking sometimes."
"I didn't tell her. I don't want her to overthink," he answered.
"But why? She has to know."
"She doesn't have to know. There's nothing wrong because we're not doing anything wrong, right? It's better if she doesn't know."
"You are right. There is nothing wrong because we are just talking. There is nothing wrong with us because we are done and both taken."
He looked at Cindy for a moment and immediately turned his gaze back to the front. "What about your fiance? Does he know?"
She thought for a moment. It occurred to her that she couldn't tell her fiance about her frequent meetings and conversations with Anton.
"Well, I can say the same thing," she replied.
Finally they reached their destination. They entered the store together.
He was just following her like he is her bodyguard.
She kept asking every item she touched.
"Do you know how to cook?" Anton suddenly asked as they walked.
"I want to learn," she answered quickly while busy choosing products.
In Anton's boredom, he looked around for another product. He had no intention of buying, just bored.
A few minutes later, he asked again.
"Does your fiance teach you to cook?"
He stopped for a moment while holding the canned food.
"He's busy, so he doesn't have time to teach me," she answered.
He was about to speak when something suddenly returned to his mind.
It reminds him that back then he didn't have much time for Cindy, so that led to the breakup.
When those memories came back, he was speechless. He was just silently looking at the canned food he was holding.
Unbeknownst to him, Cindy was the same at that moment. He didn't think he would remember that again because of what she said.
There was awkwardness, so she thought to change the topic.
"Is it good?" she asked while showing Anton the launch meat.
"I don't know. I haven't tasted that food yet," he answered.
She smiled as an idea came to her mind.
"Let's try it?" she asked.
"What do you mean?"
"If you have some time, we can eat this food, so we will know if this food is good or not," she explained.
"I will think about it."
Cindy didn't say a word anymore because she was already busy choosing foods. When the cart was full, they went straight to the counter.
Anton waited outside. While he was waiting, he suddenly remembered Ariella.
"Oh, I forgot," he said and scratched the back of his neck.
Cindy came out and immediately took her bags.
"Thanks for helping me," she said when they were in the car.
"Next time, tell your fiance to have time for you, okay?" He said. Cindy didn't say a word at what he said. She didn't even react much.
He drove off. He drove Cindy to the condominium unit where Cindy was staying.
"Do you want me to help you with that?" he asked.
She immediately shook her head. "I will ask some guards to carry these," she answered.
"Okay. I have to go now."
"Take care. Thanks for the time again."
He got into the car and drove away. He was in a hurry because he knew it took him a long time.
When he arrived, he immediately went to the room.
He caught Ariella sleeping, so he slowly walked towards her.
When he kissed her cheek, he felt it warm. He checked her neck. His body was warm and there was a sign that she is feeling cold because she was almost bent over.
He was restless. "You have a fever, my wife," he said. "Wait for me, okay?"
He immediately took a wet towel to wipe her body, but before that, he turned off the air conditioner, so that Ariella wouldn't shiver in the cold.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know," he said while wiping her arm. At first, she didn't want for him to wipe her arms because it was too cold for her, but Anton forced her to cool down.
"I-it is….c-cold" . Her face was red and so were her lips. It also dries up because she has a fever.
"Why didn't you call me right away?" he asked. He first covered her with a blanket then stood up to get Ariella's clothes.
"I don't want to disturb you," she answered.
He sat on the bed again and gave her clothes, so she cna change.
"Disturb me?" he asked.
