CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO
"Don't mind it. I'm just kidding," Anton said before looking back at the front.
"No, you're not," Ariella replied before turning her gaze back to the front. "But I can't give that to you for now. I am not ready for it, you know that," she added.
"I know."
The conversation didn't follow up on what she said until they both decided to leave.
While they were in the car, they were both speechless. Anton just stared at the young man while Ariella was quietly reading on her phone.
She notices that Anton is quiet but she ignores him, and just kept reading while she was feeling Anton to see if he would speak first.
A few minutes later, they were still silent. Anton seems to be thinking too deeply.
She just looked at him while thinking what was going through his mind.
"It's too deep," she commented to him.
He was just peeking out the window a while ago. It was as if he had a deep thought that he took very seriously.
As she expected, Anton noticed her because of what she said.
He closed the window.
"Do you want to go shopping?" Anton asked.
"I want some rest," she answered.
"Are you sure? Don't you want to go to the mall?"
She just repeated what she said earlier that's why Anton didn't force her any more. He drove until they reached their house.
They went straight to the room. Ariella immediately lay down.
"Don't you want to take a shower first?"
She didn't seem to like Anton's question, so she frowned. As if what he said meant something else.
"What do you mean? I'm dirty so that I need to take a shower now? So early?"
Anton immediately explained, "No, no, no. That's not what I meant."
She frowned. "Why do you want me to take a shower so early?"
"Nothing, honey. Maybe you want to join me. I'm going to take a shower."
Suddenly her frown disappeared and she thought for a moment about what he said. She knew what he meant.
"No," ahe replied sparingly.
"Are you sure?"
"Mmmm"
Like before, he didn't force Ariella anymore. He just took a shower.
While Ariella was waiting, she couldn't stop the sleepiness. She suddenly fell asleep without realizing it.
Shw slept for a few hours until she suddenly woke up. Her eyes were open but she didn't move. Now she realized that she was hugging Anton. Anton was facing her and hugging her too.
She could hear her own breathing but she could hear Anton's heartbeat more.
She didn't move because Anton was hugging her. She didn't know how she would get up without Anton waking up.
With all her strength, she slowly raised her arm. She made sure that Anton would not wake up.
She breathed a sigh of relief when she got up without Anton waking up.
She stood up and fixed her hair.
"Come back to sleep."
She almost jumped in shock when she suddenly heard that. She slowly turned to look at Anton but he was asleep, so she wondered. In addition to being surprised, her heart rate suddenly increased, andwas suddenly afraid.
"Ghost," she said softly out of fear, and returned to the bed and lay down again. She hugged herself when Anton suddenly hugged her. That hug was very tight.
"You scared of ghosts?" he asked in a whisper.
Now she thought and realized that it was Anton who spoke earlier and was not just a ghost or a hallucination.
"Are you awake?" She asked.
"Mmmm."
Shw gently hit Anton's hand.
"You scared me," she said.
"Did I? I just said come back to sleep."
She just pouted and forgot her madness.
He hugged her even tighter.
"It's cold," he whispered.
She knew immediately what he wanted to say but she had no appetite for it.
Anton kissed her neck, she immediately pulled away.
"I'm so sleepy, honey. I want to rest. Now for now," she said then lay down properly.
Anton didn't force her. "Sleep well. Goodnight." He kissed her forehead before going back to sleep.
The next day, he woke up early to make breakfast for Ariella. Because he was going somewhere, he wanted to prepare Ariella's breakfast first.
It was eight o'clock when Ariella woke up, so he brought the foods to the room, so she didn't have to go to the dining room.
"Good morning," he greeted.
Even though Ariella had a surprise in her mind, she didn't say anything but just looked at him. She hasn't gotten out of bed yet, seems to be sleepy.
"Get up and eat your breakfast. I prepared these for you," he said.
She just got up and sat on the bed, saying, "I will eat later. I'm still sleepy."
"You just woke up and now you're sleepy again? You even beat the pregnant woman."
"Excuse me!"
Anton just laughed at her reactions.
"Seriously. I want to make sure you eat it before I leave."
She got confused at what he said. She forgot what Anton said yesterday.
"It's your day off," she said.
"Yes, but I have to leave for a while. My grandmother requested a visit."
Now she remembered it. "Only you, not me."
He approached her. He noticed that she was sulking because she was not with him.
"Eat now and go to shower. We will go together," he said.
"No, I don't want to."
"Why? Don't you want to go with me?
"I want, but your grandmother doesn't want me, so I don't want to come. Just go alone. I can handle myself."
"Just make sure you will eat these foods, okay?"
"Yes."
He came closer to kiss her on the forehead. He sat next to her for a while and watched her for a moment.
"Are you sulking?" he asked
Ariella wasn't looking. She was just lying on his side. She also closed her eyes.
"Why would I?" she asked instead of answering by Anton's very simple question.
"It's obvious. I can see it."
Ariella looked at him and frowned.
She insisted, "It is okay. I'm used to your grandmother. I know she doesn't like me. So, go now. I am okay here."
"Okay. Just call me if you need something. I have to go."
She just smiled and nodded.
He kissed her before he left. The trip takes 30 minutes before he reaches the village where his grandmother lives.
When he arrived, his grandmother greeted him. His face showed joy when he saw her.
"I'm so happy to see you again," she said, kissing his cheek.
"How are you here? Where is Kurt?" he asked.
"I'm fine. Kurt went somewhere. Anyway, I cooked you your favorite meal. I'm sure you'll like it," she said happily.
They went to the dining room. Many different types of food were served on the long table. It was just the two of them but it looked like a party.
"Where is your wife? It's a good thing you didn't bring her along. I don't want to see her face again," she said before she sat down.
He sat down before answering. "She's at home because she doesn't want to come."
"That's fine. But, I'm serious. She doesn't suit you, Anton. I like Cindy more than her. They're too far apart," she added while transferring food to the plate.
Anton stopped because of what she said. He was looking at her and she noticed that.
"You don't know her yet. In addition, Cindy and I have been done for a long time. We have our own lives," Anton insisted.
"With so many women in the world, why is one woman even one beak? All she wants from you is money."
"You have to know her first. Ariella is an independent woman, a good woman. She's different. Please don't judge her."
"Cindy is better than her. I can see, you still have feelings for her, don't you?"
"I love my wife."
