Confessed
CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT
He didn't think much about those things, especially Ariella's question to him.
He carried Ariella to the bedroom, then laid her on the bed. Ariella was unaware of what had happened. She drank so much alcohol that she became very drunk.
He frowned and kissed her on the forehead before leaving the room.
He cooked while waiting for Ariella to wake up.
A few minutes later, Ariella suddenly woke up for reasons unknown to her. Her eyes were wide open but she seemed to be absent from herself.
She was stunned for a few minutes, her mind blank, as she stared into the void until she suddenly came back to her senses.
She looked around and wondered why she ended up on the bed when the last thing she remembered was lying on the floor.
She tried to remember what happened but she couldn't remember that she went straight to the bedroom and lay down on the bed.
She was surprised until she suddenly remembered that she saw Anton when she opened her eyes. She also remembered that she even asked Anton. That's all she remembers.
She stood up to go to the bathroom but stopped when something occurred to her
"Is he here?" she asked when she finally realized something.
She looked at the side of the door but Anton's indoor slippers were not there so she was sure that Anton was already here. It also occurred to her that Anton might have carried her to the bedroom.
Her eyes widened as she covered her mouth because of what she thought.
"He was able to lift me even though I was heavy?" she asked herself again, almost in disbelief.
She suddenly felt ashamed of herself when she thought about it.
She stood for several minutes thinking about those things. Later she also went to the bathroom.
She took off her clothes, and turned on the shower. She didn't care about the cold water because of the heat of her body because of the drunkenness.
After 15 minutes, she came out.
Somehow her hangover eased when she took a shower.
She was wiping her hair with a towel when Anton suddenly came.
There was no sign of surprise on her face.
"You're awake," he said.
She only looked at her but did not speak.
"Do you want to eat now? I cooked our din-"
"I'm not hungry," she responded quickly and didn't finish what Anton was saying.
She's still busy drying her hair and not paying any attention to him.
"Are you feeling okay now?"
Upon hearing that question, she looked at Anton as if she was saying something even though she wasn't speaking.
It took a few seconds before she spoke. "Feeling okay?" she asked and stopped drying her hair with a towel.
Anton was speechless, even if he wanted to say something, he couldn't because he didn't know what to say.
"Do you know why I drank and got drunk? Do you have any idea?"
Her voice was still calm just to avoid her anger. She's trying to stop her feelings from exploding like a bomb.
She stood up and walked towards the dresser. She dressed herself in front of him without any hesitations.
"You have a problem you're not telling me," he answered after a few minutes.
When she got dressed, sat opposite the side table and opposite the window.
"You know my problem," she said in her calm voice, still, but inside her, she's screaming in pain.
Anton approached her, gently massaging her shoulders
She's not comfortable with what he is doing so she made him stop.
"I am here, my wife. You have to tell me your problems. I will help you."
"How can you help me if you are my problem?" Upon saying that, she stood up and walked away from him. She didn't know where she was going.
"What? Is it still about yesterday? I explained everything to you. Please, forgive me."
"Don't make me a fool, Anton. I know everything."
He approached her but she avoided him.
"Don't come near me."
"What do you want me to do? That was just a cooking lesson -"
"F*CK* that cooking lesson! Stop denying! Don't be so mean! You think I don't know what you're doing?! I've known for a long time, you just don't know!" she yelled at him, which he didn't expect. She seemed to feel a little better when she said that, but there was still a knife stabbing in her chest at the same time as it was beating fast.
Anyone as unable to speak during that time when he heard those from her. He could see the anger, the heartache, the sorrow from her eyes.
….and saw the tears falling from her puffy eyes.
"I know everything, but I remained silent," she weakly said. "How could you manage to do that to me?"
He approaches Ariella and tries to comfort her but she avoids.
"I'm sorry if I hurt you. But believe me, I'm not doing anything wrong, my wife," he explained, but Ariella shook her head and as if it irritated her.
"Are you doing the right thing? What do you expect me to feel? You want me to be happy? To support you in what you're doing?! I am a human! I can be hurt!"
He tried to hug her and coax her but Ariella kept avoiding him. He couldn't even explain to her because he didn't know how to begin.
"I was hurt! I was hurt when I saw your conversations with her! I was hurt when I found out that you're together, having lunch with her- take her to her house - going to store! I was hurt listening to your lies when I know the truth! I was hurt, one thing you don't know!"
Upon saying those things to him, she took a deep breath and let her tears fall. She can't even stop it anymore especially her heart is like crumpled paper.
Now Anton's mouth felt like it was sewn shut. It didn't even occur to him that Ariella knew that. Now he didn't know how to explain because he thought Ariella wouldn't believe him.
"Did you even think about how I would feel?" she asked as if she was weak. Her vision is almost blurry because her eyes are filled with tears.
"I am sorry," were the only words that came out of his mouth as he tried to approach her again.
Ariella did not stop him as soon as he approached. He wipes her tears but they continue to flow.
Her chest tightened even more with what Anton was doing.
"I am sorry. I love you, you know that," he softly said while wiping her tears.
She couldn't look at Anton. She was just bowing down because when she looked at Anton, he was in more pain.
"I am sorry," he continued.
Ariella wiped her tears away and stopped herself from crying, then pushed Anton away from her.
"Do you think sorry is enough? Do you think it is so easy to forget everything? You don't know how much what you did hurt me!"
"I will do everything, my wife. Please tell me what do you want me to do for you to forgive me? Do you want me to kneel?"
When he asked those, he knelt in front of Ariella and begged for her forgiveness, but it was not that easy for Ariella to forgive him.
She left and Anton followed her.
"Get off me!" she shouted when Anton grabbed her hand and stopped her from leaving.
"Where are you going?"
"You don't
have to know!"
He removed Anton's hand that was holding her then walked away again. Anton was still following her and trying to stop her until they were on the first floor.
