CHAPTER 45
A few moments later, the waitress served their food.
"Enjoy your dinner, Ma'am and Sir," said the waitress.
"Thank you," they both said.
"It smells so filling," she commented while joyfully looking at the food that was served to them. "I'm getting hungrier," she added.
Anton was happy with her, so instead of looking at the food,he was looking at her. He felt his chest lighten while watching her, so he didn't realize that Ariella had been looking and calling him.
"I will melt," she said, so Anton came back to his senses, and realized that he was floating in the air earlier again every time he watched Ariella.
He almost laughed because of what he did.
"Eat now. Do you want this?” he asked, printing the food.
Before she could answer, he put food on her plate and tried to put other food on her but Ariella stopped him.
"I can do it. Just eat with me," said Ariella.
They ate in silence. They enjoyed the foods at the same time their bonding.
Both of them didn't admit that they missed this, eating together, the old time, and so on.
"Do you want dessert?" he asked, and before Ariella could answer, he was about to call the waitress when Cindy suddenly caught his eye.
He had better look at her to make sure he wasn't squinting, but no matter how many times he blinked, he wasn't wrong. In addition, she was with her fiance.
Although they didn't notice Anton looking at them, it seemed that Anton couldn't be complacent.
Ariella immediately entered his mind and what she would think when she saw and found out that Cindy was also here, which is the reason why he and Anton are not okay now.
It wasn't long before Ariella noticed that he seemed restless. It's like he's looking for something she doesn't understand.
"Are you looking for something?" she asked. "...or someone?" she added.
"N-no, my wife. I just feel something strange with my stomach," he excused himself so that Ariella would not ask any more questions and even more so not think too hard.
He didn't show that he was panicking when he found out and saw Cindy who was also in the same place where they were. It's as if fate brings them together and it seem to be playing with them.
He didn't want that to be a reason to start a fight with Ariella again, so he thought of a way for them to leave immediately.
"Are you full?" he asked.
“Not much. You know I don't eat a lot," she answered.
"I think...we better go," he said and acted like there was is something strange with him.
Ariella got confused of him but she didn't ask any more questions.
She just stood up and put the bag sling on her shoulder to leave.
Anton paid before they left. He knew Cindy didn't notice them.
They got into the car and he drove away.
"You seemed to be in a hurry," she commented when she noticed his sudden weird actions earlier.
"I have a sudden stomach bad reaction earlier, that's why I asked to leave," he answered calmly while continuing to drive and his attention was still focused there.
She just nodded while thinking of something.
"Why?" he asked, which caused her to frown and be confused.
"What?" she asked in confusion.
He shook his head, and said, "Nothing. Do not mind it." Even he couldn't understand why he suddenly said that without realizing it. Maybe he was thinking about something so he suddenly said that.
Although Ariella was confused and there was wonder in her mind, she did not ask or even speak.
A few minutes passed when Ariella's phone suddenly rang. When she looked to see who was calling, she read the caller's name, and it was her Dad.
She immediately answered the call.
"Hello? Are you going home? Will Anton take you home from here?” those were his open questions when she answered her Daddy's call.
She looked at Anton for a moment when he asked that.
Anton heard it, but he didn't say a word.
Ariella doesn't know what to say, so she can't answer right away.
"Hello? Ariella? Hello? Did you hear me?”
She kept glancing at Anton as if she was waiting for Anton to say something, so she could answer.
Anton looked at her for a moment and shook his head, saying, "We will go home."
"Did he speak? Will you go with him again? And then what? Will he hurt your feelings again? Are you really not going to listen to me?” his questions that she couldn't answer because he asked one after another.
Anton heard everything he said but he didn't speak, even Ariella couldn't speak either.
"I'm telling you, I don't trust that man. I know he will only give you pain. I can't bear to see you cry over a man like him. You can still find a man that will treat you right. Don't be too soft, Ariella.”
She seemed stunned by what her Daddy said, and gradually realized all the things he said, but she couldn't follow them.
She can't leave her husband. She knows to herself that even if she doesn't admit that she loves Anton, he loves her too.
"Is he with you?"
She turned her gaze to Anton again, then she answered, "Yes, Dad."
"Give him the phone. I will talk to that rude and useless man!”
She hesitated to bring the phone closer to Anton, but she did it somehow. She just held the phone closer because he couldn't touch it because he was driving.
"Hello?! Anton! Are you there?” he asked.
"Yes, Dad. I'm listening," he replied while driving.
"Take her home to us. Don't you ever try to take her with you if you don't want your mouth to bleed again!”
“Dad!” Ariella scolded him for threatening Anton.
“I am sorry, Dad. I can't bring her home to you now. We will go home to our house. She won't leave me again,” he calmly said, and briefly glanced at Ariella.
Ariella frowned because of what he said. "What are you talking about?" she weakly asked.
“I will not allow her to go with you again! A man like you doesn't deserve my daughter! You will only make her cry again!”
"I am sorry, Dad, for what happened. I will promise not to make her cry again. Don't worry.”
Ariella put the phone away so she could talk to her Daddy.
"Um, hello, Dad?"
"Ariella! Are you really not going to listen to me? Are you still going to choose that guy? He hurt you, made you cry!”
"Daddy, let them fix it. Of course it is normal for a married couple to fight, someone gets hurt, cry. And of course, she will still choose her husband because they are married. They love each other," she heard her sister say to their father.
“If you can talk, you think you know everything. Why? have you ever been in love? Don't tell me you have a boyfriend?!”
"I don't have a boyfriend, Dad. I haven't even experienced loving a man yet...but I know that. I am matured enough to understand those kinds of situations. So, you as a father, you have to set aside your hatred-"
"Shut up! You don't know the consequences of loving too much. Go to your room and take a rest now!”
She didn't hear what her sister said anymore but the words she said stuck in her mind.
"Ariella," he called.
"Yes, Dad?" she replied.
"Are you really going to be with him again after what he did to you?" he asked, causing her to glance at Anton for a moment.
Even though he was driving and his attention was focused there, he was listening to what they were talking about. He also heard what Ariella's sister said.
"We have to fix this, Dad. I am sorry," she replied.
Upon hearing those from Ariella, it was as if his heart suddenly became soft because of joy. He didn't even realize that he was smiling.
"Okay. I understand. Just don't forget what I told you, okay?”
"Yes, Dad. Thank you.”
She ended the call, and took a DEEP breath. He suddenly felt relaxed.
"We're home," Anton said, and stopped the car.
