CHAPTER 46
When they arrived at their house, Ariella suddenly seemed to change. She looked around as they quietly walked into the house.
"What do you want to eat? Any drinks? Do you want to watch Netflix?” Anton asked one after another.
She shook her said, and says, "I just want to take a rest. I am also sleepy.”
"Are you sure? You don't need anything else?" he asked again.
Because of this, she looked straight at him as if saying something in mind.
It took a few seconds before she spoke. "You know what I need- who I need."
She still didn't take her eyes off him and it caused him to feel something strange which he knows.
Even though she didn't say it directly, he knew what she meant. That's why a smile once again appeared on his lips as he met Ariella's meaningful look at him.
He approached her and held her hands without taking his eyes off her, Ariella did the same.
"Thank you," he said softly.
She frowned slightly, got slightly confused.
"Thank you because you gave me a second chance," he continued.
"I have to," she softly replied.
He touched her cheek while his other hand was holding Ariella's right hand.
"I will not waste the second chance you gave me."
Ahe took a deep breath while there was a trace of a smile left on her lips even though she didn't speak.
"I am really sorry for everything I have done to you." He parted her hair behind her ears without taking his eyes off her. "Within a few days of not being with you, I realized that I was alone on the surface of the world, very sad, lonely. I have no appetite for everything, so I just drink alcohol so that I can fall asleep and not feel the sadness and longing because you are not by my side," he paused for a moment, while Ariella was just quietly listening and forcing the tears to not begin to form in her eyes. "I know that I ruined your trust for me, and you won't believe my promises anymore, but I won't waste the second chance you gave me."
She just nodded to what he said in agreement.
"You have no idea how much I missed you, but I respect your decision to be alone and don't disturb you. I always want to try to call you because I want to hear your voice somehow, but I chose not to because I respect your wish not to disturb you. You have no idea how lonely I was without you by my side.”
She kept listening to Anton's words while trying to fight her emotions. She is really a soft-hearted person, so it is so easy to make her cry even in the small things.
She can't speak. No words want to come out of her mouth. But despite this, she could feel the heavy burden in her chest. She felt guilty upon hearing those things from Anton, but it is not her fault that he experienced those things because in the first place, he hurt her.
After a minute, he touched her face, both of her cheeks, and made her face him. She didn't stop him, and just looked directly in his little puffy eyes.
She could see the trace of sadness through his eyes. She felt pity for him.
“Don't leave me again, okay?” he said as if a child begging for his mom not to leave him.
Words are ready to come out of her mouth but she can't speak. She just met Anton's gaze.
"I'll go crazy without you," he added, which only made her feel even more guilty. Although she feels that way, she can't blame herself for why that happened to Anton. That will only serve as a lesson to him.
She remained silent as if she was a mute person. She had been silent before as if she had no intention of speaking.
"My wife, please say something."
When Anton said that, she seemed to come to her senses.
"W-w-what do I have to say?" she asked as if she had her own world.
"I'm sorry. I am really sorry.”
"Okay okay. I can say that I forgive you but it's hard to restore the trust you broke...and it can affect our relationship," she insisted.
"I can prove to you that I will not destroy your trust. Please, my wife," he begged again and kneeled down in front of her while tightly holding her hands.
"Get up. What are you doing again?”
"Please, my wife."
"Okay okay. Just get up. I forgive you.”
When she said that, he stood up with a sweet smile on his lips as if he had won the lottery.
He happily observed Ariella who almost jumped for joy. A few seconds passed before he hugged Ariella tightly.
At first Ariella doesn't move, and just lets Anton hug her. But for a few moments, her arms hugged Anton's back. Maybe she couldn't take it anymore.
There was a light smile on her lips as they hugged each other.
"Thank you, my wife. I love you," he said softly and weakly.
He didn't respond to what Anton said, but Anton didn't care because he was overflowing with joy now that he and Ariella were getting along.
"Anton," she weakly called. The two of them are still hugging each other to this day. Maybe they miss each other so much that they almost don't want to let go of each other like there's no tomorrow.
"Yes, my wife?" he replied.
"I am sleepy. Can we sleep now?”
"Of course," he said with a slight laugh because he realized they had been hugging each other for a while. "Oh, I'm sorry. I just missed you.”
"It's okay. But for now, let us sleep. It's eleven o'clock at night,” she said before she yawned. There is a trace of sleepiness in her eyes that she is trying to fight.
"Let's go?"
They went to the room together, lay on the bed, but their eyes were still open.
They were both staring at the ceiling as if they were deep in thought. In addition to that, a smile was etched on their lips as their thoughts floated in the air.
Ariella took a deep breath while closing her eyes tightly. Anton noticed that so he turned his gaze to her.
He just kissed her forehead before closing his eyes and f
alling asleep.
Ariella, opened her eyes when Anton kissed her on her forehead.
She thought of something.
