Meet someone
CHAPTER 47
Anton thought of having a family dinner, so he invited his brother and grandmother to come to their house, also Ariella's father and sister.
Ariella agreed to him. Although she still had doubts and it occurred to her that her father might have a misunderstanding with Anton's grandmother.
Anton also wants to personally apologize to Ariella's father.
"Nanny, have you cooked yet?" Anton asked their new maid, Nanny. She is a bit old but not that old because her beauty is still unfading.
She came immediately, still in a hurry.
"Yes, sir?"
"Have you ever cooked? Soon our guests will arrive," he said.
She nodded with a relaxed smile on her lips.
"Good job, Nanny. Starting tomorrow, your job will be regular."
"Thank you, Sir," she said happily.
"Go back to work, Nanny. Later, you will meet my wife. She would be glad to meet you.”
"Okay, sir."
She returned to the kitchen to put away the mess. Anton called Ariella to pick her up.
She told him earlier that she has to leave, she had someone to talk to, so ahe immediately left and didn't take Anton with her.
She didn't let Anton know where she went, so he was puzzled as to where she was. They discussed that he would pick up Ariella to make sure that she could go home safely.
He dialed her phone and call her
Her phone kept ringing, so he waited for Ariella to answer the call.
It took a couple of minutes before she answered the call.
"My wife?"
"Hello. Pick me up now. I'm at La Villa's restaurant," she said openly when she answered the call.
"Okay. I'll be there. Just wait for me there and don't go anywhere, okay?"
"Yup."
When she hung up, he immediately left.
He drove until he reached the restaurant.
When he got out of the car, he didn't expect to see Cindy standing outside the restaurant where Ariella was also there.
Surprisingly, he ignored Cindy and pretended not to see her.
But as he walked in, her gaze turned to him, and they stared at each other for a few seconds.
There was wonder and question in his mind as to why she was here.
He was about to approach her to ask but suddenly changed his mind. He remembered that Ariella was here and he didn't want that to be the source of their misunderstanding.
He went inside and looked for Ariella's table. There he saw her sitting and waiting for him.
He stopped for a moment when he saw two cups of coffee on the table. Something crossed his mind but he quickly shook it off. Impossible, he said.
She saw him and signaled him to come and sit.
He sat down but couldn't really get the cup of coffee out of his mind especially when he noticed that it was only half.
“Don't mind that coffee,” Ariella said when she noticed it.
"N-no. I am just wondering who you are meeting here," he said before turning his gaze to her.
She smiled comfortably, said, “Just a friend of mine, honey. Why so curious?”
"N-no, my wife. Because you didn't tell me where you were going and who you were with."
"I just told you. A friend of mine," she insisted but was calm.
He just nodded and didn't argue with her anymore. He don't want to ruin her mood right now.
"Have you eaten? Let's eat before we go home."
She shook her head. "It would be better if we go home and eat at home. I missed your cooking.”
What she said made him smile.
"I agree. I will also introduce you to someone. I am sure you will like her.”
Her eyes narrowed slightly while wondering who he was going to introduce.
"Her? Means…a girl, a woman?” she asked as if implying something.
"Yes. She's a girl," he answered.
She became silent suddenly while observing Anton's happy face. She began to wonder about many things.
"Let's go?"
When they were outside the door of the restaurant, they saw Cindy still standing there as if waiting for someone.
They both looked at each other.
He held Ariella's hand and they continued walking. Anton entered the car first, sitting on the driver's seat.
Before Ariella entered the other door of the car, she briefly glanced at Cindy. They both looked at each other.
She gave her a deadly meaningful look before she entered.
She sat next to the driver's seat where Anton was sitting.
They hadn't left yet and Ariella noticed that.
Unexpectedly, Anton looked out the car window where Cindy could be seen looking at them.
She frowned, wondering why and what again.
"Why don't you approach her?" she asked irritably that's why Anton looked away from her.
He grabbed the steering wheel but before that, he spoke first.
"What are you saying? I just wondered why she's here…” He looked at her. "...and you're here too."
"So?"
“Is she the-”
"No. Why would I?” she was straight away and didn't finish what Anton was saying.
“Okay. Let's not talk about her.”
“Better,” she said and then let out a deep sigh.
He drove home to their house. It only took half an hour before they got home.
The gate opened by itself and it closed by itself when the car they were riding in entered. That's why they don't need guards.
"We're home," said Anton.
They went inside together. They went straight to the lobby to take a rest first.
"Who is this girl you want to introduce to me?" she asked as she lay down and rested on the sofa.
“Wait. I will call her. Nanny!”
Nanny started to walk, while Ariella started to wonder again and again.
"Yes, sir?"
"Nanny, I want you to meet my wife, Ariella."
He pointed to Ariella who was still lying down and seemed too lazy to get up. He didn't even look at Nanny.
In short, she doesn't want to meet her.
"Hello, Ma'am Ariella," Nanny said happily.
This time, she turned her gaze to Nanny. She smiled at her and stood up.
She's in a good mood now, now that she saw her and noticed she's a bit old.
"Who is she?" she asked Anton.
“She's our first ever maid. We will call her Nanny Ariel, Nanny Yel for short," he said.
“Oh, hello. I was glad to meet you. Finally, you hired a maid."
She was happy looking at Anton, whereas earlier she was grumpy and not in the mood.
"Nanny, go back to work first. When you are done with the housework, you can take a rest," he said to Nanny which she immediately obeyed.
"Excuse me, Sir, Ma'am."
She left but kept glancing at Ariella.
"You didn't even notify me that you were going to hire a maid," she said when Nanny left.
"I don't want you to get tired of housework, that's why I hired her. Aren't you happy?"
She shook her head, but the smile remained.
“Can she be trusted? Where did you meet her? Did she pass biodata? Her info?”
Anton came and sat on the sofa next to her.
“She's kind. I met her a week ago in the street. She helped me when I forgot my money even though she only had a small amount of money. I just can't explain it but I feel good about her. Maybe because I just missed my mom.”
She listened and imagined it.
“Well…if she's okay with you, then….okay. I just can't trust her that easily. You know it's hard to trust when you are traumatized."
He nodded, though he knew what she was trying to point out.
"Anyway, have you called Dad and your sister for our family dinner?"
"Oh, I almost forgot. I will call my sister. Wait for me."
She stood up and picked up the phone and called her sister.
"Are you coming tonight? We are expecting you to come for our family dinner. Don't forget that, okay?” she said to her sister on the other line.
"I already told him. He agree
d but he is not in his mood," her sister said.
"Let me talk to Dad. Dad?”
She heard that her sister is forcing their father to get the phone and talk to her.
“Dad?”
“We are coming, don't worry,” said their father.”
